I agree with pretty much this entire video. I went down almost the same path, got the dual Z kit, a PEI sheet kit (and did the springs), and replaced the hot end with a Micro Swiss direct drive all metal one. I kept the stock 427 board though. Then I just printed a new Setsana ABS fan duct for a single 5015 just like yours. Didn't see the need to upgrade the board in my case, since I had no interest in dual-Z leveling on a small bed slinger. Too much complexity for too little return IMHO. Now my E3V2 is a very reliable little machine. I also printed some feet to fit squash balls to lift it up, and put a 60mm fan on the motherboard compartment, since that thing can barely breathe in stock form. Now it sits in a bag enclosure comfortably pumping out ABS+ prints with no issues.
wow a verry good video! I was expecting you to have in the tens of thousands of subscribers with the high quality of this video well done!
Great video! Top quality
you just got a new sub, great video!
This video is great and entertaining lol. I hated my ender 3, so I got a elegoo neptune 4 and its basically an upgraded ender 3, and has been working great so far
Loved the video gained another sub.
I allways feel like im upgrading something on my ender 3 as it never prints just right. The best upgrades ive done have to be the following
1-Cr touch (prefer the metal probe as plastic one broke afew times)
2- kevinakasam's belted Z mod
3- professional firmware by mriscoc
Next on my list is a decent hotend as it keeps clogging still find myself using my ender over my 350mm voron 2.4 as that takes too long to heat up for smaller prints even tho my voron can print the same in less than half the time.
Carnt wait to see what you do next to the ender 3. Your video had me hooked keep up the good work!
Dude hell yeah summer intern seems to be crunching those gcodes pretty well! I have to know what those holders at 8:52 are called. Would love to use them myself, thanks in advance, you earned a subscriber.
This is a great video!
To start I really like my Ender 3 V2, the upgrades are not expensive, I did these and a few more, but BUT, I walked in the store, not knowing more then about a week's worth of knowledge about 3d printing, I asked the salesman. "I have this stack of cash, give me the best printer I can afford with a decent upgrade path over time". He gave me the Ender 3 V2 and a CR touch the metal springs and thats it, I not knowing much was really excited with the price, I was able to afford a Nvidia 4080 with the left over cash.....Stupid salesman is all I have to say, btw a 4080 is $1299 USD. I could have got a bad ass 3D printer that day
ur so underrated keep going and pushing out new videos
I immediately noticed that your X-axis gantry is higher on the right side significantly. I had the same problem till I fixed it now all my prints are within .002in
A few comments. Even if you have the lastest 4.2.7 Creality mainboard the SKR mini is a worthwhile upgrade even if only for the PWM for the hotend cooling fan. There is no weight issue running direct drive even with the heavy stock motor. The ender 3 may be growing long in the tooth but still an excellent printer that can be just as reliable as the MK3 with a few cost effective upgrades like the bltouch and a steel sheet build plate. The best upgrade you can do is install klipper. It's a huge step for those who don't have experience dealing with firmware but a massive improvement in performance and quality for those who undergo the task.
Well monologged a worthy of a like.
Thanks, I ran a Marlin build for the Ender, But I'm curious to try out klipper.
@@MaxyMeanderings Try MRISCOC too a very interesting Marlin flavour. I obtained just few minutes less an Ender 3 V3 SE in lot of printings and still very good quality.
I've nice mods on my Ender 3 V2 Neo.
Are my eyes trippin or is your x gantry off level as hell @ 12:46???
In my experience, the Ender 3 V2 Neo, has been nothing but a very subpar experience. My father bought me the Ender 3v2 because he thought it would be something that I would like, which I really do like, when it works of course. I think the Ender 3V2 Neo is horrible compared to some other bed slingers like the Sovol SVO6 and Neptune 3. For the same price you get so much more with those printers. And in my case most of the problems can be attributed to me being a beginner at the time. I also had problems with the bed not being secured well and that was a big source of problems, this problem made me stop printing for almost a year until I fixed it. I still don't really like the Ender 3V2, but it is a great printer with modifications. Would never recommend to a beginner.
Waaaaahh! Go buy a good one then without daddy lmao
@@gotchaabeechmaybe he is a teenager still going to school why you are so mad at him... Don't be bully if you don't want to be bullied!
@@the-matrix-has-youyou sound like a mark have you ran out of tampons?
Bro, creality makes their own BL sensor it honestly works just as good and is easy plug and go.
I agree with the comments. This video is amazing and I thought you would have more subs. Well, count me in!! The Ender 3 V2 is super cheap now that the V3's are out. Tempting...
What was the total cost of the upgrades? Would it be better to just buy a "better printer" that has all these features already on it?
Nice video
Hi. I like the cables management especially the hotend one. Can you send me the link to print them out? Thanks
I still have this printer. :D Nice share.
Not sure how cheap this all is in America... but in Europe an ender 3 v2 starts at 250€, with all those modifications you still have a printer that isn't great and probably reached the price of a prusa.
And besides, my ender 3 v2 prints fine without too much tinkering around.
Only upgrade it needs tbh is the BL sensor and maybeee springs. You definitely could buy a better printer if you get anything else it's not a bad printer, though it does surprisingly well for the price.
You do not need BS-touch, you need springs and straighten the bed. = )
But you need hands for that. So instead may be buy some modern super fast printer which works = )
I mean 250 euros is too much for this kinda model. $100 may be.
Which cable chain did you use?
Update on the dual z?
120th sub yaay
If you have one already its worth upgrading. If not not worth buying over the v3 especially with its price.
i saw the black friday prices for the V2....it's gonna be amazing. May be worth getting four of them and a sonic pad.
What are the chains you are using I want to add some to my printer
This top one is good. www.thingiverse.com/thing:3715002/remixes
The bottom one I don't recommend because it keeps falling off the extruder. I'm going to replace it soon
@@MaxyMeanderings thanks I am also looking for a new bottom ones
Stl’s ?
Save money and buy a Sovol sv06 for $200.
You are comparing apples to oranges one printer is 250 ish the other is nearly 1000 dollars... Even if you upgrade Ender is most likely 350 dollars at max! So 35% of the price of Prussa... Ender is for DIY people while Prussa is for people want to get results out of the box... That's the diffrence I have 6 Enders v2's And 2 v2 Neo's and I have upgraded them all with double Y and Z axis linear rails double hardened gear direct drive Extruders, plastic spring mounts, bed isolations, copper plated heatblocks, titanium and copper bi-metal heatbreaks... And last ofcourse Klipper with input shaping with ADXL345 acceleration sensor with Raspberry PI Pico so I can input shape automatically with all my printers and I have to tell you Prussa is a joke after all those updates please people don't buy Enders if you are not a DIY guy...
If you dont like it so much then why do you use the ender? Stop complaining.
Still can’t get over how jacked that x axis gantry is 😂😂
