How to Eliminate Hyperflash on Any 1995-2011 Panther Car (NO Resistors!!)

  • Hello all!
    I know for all my Crown Vic viewers this video is long overdue, but finally I have another new Panther-related video! This time we're talking about how I personally eliminated the hyperflash caused by converting to LED turn signal bulbs. This is one of at least 2 ways you can remedy the hyperflash, but I personally think this is the easier - and much cheaper - option. To my knowledge this fix will work on any 1995-2011 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, Mercury Marauder, and Lincoln Town Car. As always, your comments and questions are welcome!
    Best,
    Eddie

    I like the clicking sound of the flasher it reminds me its on.
    Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!

    ok i got it so we not using the flasher on the LCM board that is why we remove the pins or cut the wire so we using our flasher for the LED. great idea!!😉

    Right on Big Ed,
    What a great video.
    You have such a good narrating voice. Lol
    One thing, I wish you would have shown the left, or right turn signals individually instead of turning on the 4-way emergency flashers.
    The reason I say this is because I get comments from people who install LED turn signal bulbs, and engage the 4-ways to check if they work.
    It's not until they go for a drive and only use the left or right turn signal that they realize they have hyper flash.
    This is because the 4-way switch is an independent circuit from the turn signal circuit.

      Thanks Chuck! Fair critique - I didn't even think to show it, but I'd hope that it's obviously implied that it would work also for the individual turn signals.
      I can film a short clip later in the week and post it as a follow-up.

    Okay I'm a little bit confused I can't figure this out on the three connectors in the back where are the wires coming out of the big one or one of the two small ones? Also do I cut the wire in the middle and run it from the harness to the relay and back from the relay to the module?

      de pin the connector

    • @summerforever6736
      @summerforever6736 Před 4 měsíci

      the wires going into the plug than plugged into the module
      you cut or de pin the wire from the connector 2 blue together 2 white with red together so it will uses your own led flasher not the one in the LCM you will have 2 wires so they will be connected to the led flasher to each of the legs on the flasher ...simple

      @Anthony P you're welcome Anthony. Unfortunately I cannot say that I've experienced that. The only issue I've ever ran into was if I connected the wires to the wrong pin on the relay, they would either not turn on at all, or come on but stay solid. Swap the wires vice versa to the different pins and that solved it and everything worked as it should

    Why not use an OEM type replacement flasher for LED's? Seems a bit simpler, perhaps no speed adjustment, but I don't know that yet.

    • @KeystoneProdsPA
      @KeystoneProdsPA  Před rokem +2

      To my knowledge, because the Panther turn signals are controlled through the LCM, you'd either need to wire in an external flasher (as shown in the video) or wire in resistors for each of the 6 turn signals

I just bought a 3rd Panther a little over 2 months ago, and I did this mod in about 15 minutes (granted it's my third time doing it) but still, subjectively it's way less effort, and objectively it's way fewer components to properly run LEDs

    • @KeystoneProdsPA

      To me, resistors would've been more work, splicing and adding resistors to each turn signal bulb instead of just 4 wires under the dash.
