    Top 4 Simple Must Have Modifications ( That Will Wake-Up ) your Crown Victoria. Somebody asked me what performance stuff that really works So Revised it a little ( minus catbacks ) and I was really being honest with myself and I came up with this. Many you guys may dig it, ,many of you will not.. I think is a pretty solid REAL list to add performance to your Crown Vic with out touching the motor AT ALL

      I have to keep it Mega Millions wit ya. We do not have the money drop like that into a motor ( if your not careful ) you can spend in areas with very little victory on hp with these Fords. Sometimes you have to be honest with self 1st vs everyone.

      @@michaelbuffington4047 engine wise yes you can do the same thing.. No suspension you have the old style... That car in the thumbnail is a 1999 vic on a air bags. The old cars are better to slam in my opinion .

      I hate wishing bro ( car stuff ) or anything i get pissed then active.... Sometimes ( most times ) i scale back cause the money gets funny ( performance wise )

    once upon a time I had 2 Mustang GT's, one 5 speed and one automatic... the difference in acceleration and power between them was enormous - definitely a manual if you want power and acceleration (and control). Reason I'm sticking with automatic is for a daily driver I don't want to have to ride the clutch when I hit stop and go traffic - my left knee can't take it anymore!

      For daily Vic automatic is the way to go, you said it right Handy Dad stick is a bit much for a daily.. I older so 5 speeding mornin to til the night is not the move.. ahhh man lets the traffic with 5 speed no way lol.. Great comment lol

      I think a Crown Vic with a 2.73 rear gear and a 6 speed auto like in the Taurus Interceptor would be ideal. Tire spinning 1st gear and gas mileage saving 6th gear.
      If I get the money and know-how I'm going to swap one of my Vics with that combo

    Outstanding, "efficiency tuning ", inherently gives or restores lost power , clean things up . For instance youve seen old engines built up with mud and grease , that insulates the block and keeps heat in. Same with the trans and diff. Or how far can you imrove those heads with a dremel and some patience? Just stuff like that. Keep it up man, i really enjoy the videos.

      You are correct on that, Thats what i am battle with ( tickle to 4.6 2v ) just a little or swap out the engine.. Its tough to really sit with all that and decide a solid plan..

    i am definitely getting a Marty Ochs tune for my 07 grand marquis, i replaced the damaged stock 2.73 rear end with a 3.55 that came off a 07 interceptor plus i changed my stock airbox and zip tube to the interceptor airbox and zip tube. now i just need the tune and im good to go. thanks for always bringing good content your channel has helped me in getting my cars together.

      Something else you should do it swap out the MAF to the bigger mustang one along with the bigger TB. THEN order your tune fr Marty. I made the mistake and kept changing my stuff and getting multiple tune upgrades. Do it once and save some money. My 01 Grand Marquis LSE is a decent sleeper..

    I love watching your videos. I'm planing to swap my 4.0 v6 in my 99 mazda b4000 to carbureted 302 with simple mods clean and as easy as it can be done. Alot things I'll have to workout I feel it be worth it. shooting for 280 hp thats all.

    Thank you I’ve been looking to see what to do to my crown Vic that I just got and there’s a lot of different options and I think your video has set me on the right course of where to start and possibly were to end with my modifications I think I’m gonna go with the tuner , possibly Diablo … then after that possibly go with the gear change, and then the one that I really really want is to be able to put a manual shifter/transmission, that would be sweet and in between that I’m gonna go wider on the back possibly with spacers or as big a new size that I can fit into the steel wheels that it came with and of Course lowered as much as possible before the wheels hit the fenders once they are sticking out about 2 inches in the back and maybe an inch to an inch and a half in the front

    I just got a 2011 P71.... I'd LOVE to put a 5 or 6 speed in it! I'll be driving close to 300 miles a day 4 days a week working for a dental lab! Having a manual would not only increase performance but gas millage too. I don't make much money and I'm disabled so I don't know how that will happen but I'm not giving up on that dream!

    All us crown vic guys are blessed to have you around making no nonsense videos my man! 💪👍🏆😎 I got a black 07 and it came with an aftermarket exhaust... I miss the old throttle cable setup but the dbw is still pretty tight.
    Only problem I have is the infamous instrument cluster flatline shit.
    Btw I rattle canned my wheels and it looks damn good!

      simple mods and simple things you did to your car ( ithats what its all about ) enjoying and having fun learning.. The exhaust is a plus if you can just get a tune . you will feel the difference bro. In many cases keep it stock but the tune will be best mod over all..     I have SCT X4 tuner. It can change the shifting point, and change the speedo meter reading. So, if you are putting large size offroad tire, it can fix the speedo meter reading.

    I learn from watching your videos. I don't own a Crown Vic. I drive a 07 Lincoln Town Car Executive L. I bought the car for $2,700 with a sound system. I love my Town Car. 413,000 + miles and drives nice. Friends and family tell me that the Town Car goes with me instead of my Toyota Yaris. I want a Crown Vic, that Benz, BMW, Audi, Cadillac will see my rear license plate. Lots of $ to achieve this but, it could be done. Appreciate your knowledge and work. Thanks!

    Love your vids bro. I have a 01 vic with few mods,your vids inspire me and give me more ideas.i want do 5 speed but cant afford it at moment. The explorer rear end drops right in vic direct swap? I think i have 355 gears but not sure .defintly has a posi did burn out other day tested it.

      the diff from the explorer ( the diff guts ) gears and traction lock.. NOT THE WHOLE REAR they do not swap in ( diff only ) .. to really check just jack up car and turn the wheels they should go in the same direction.. IF not then there are open diff ( moving in different directions ) The 5 speed is the best hit ( in my opinion )

      BST Ford Channel I have a 2005 CV. My 2nd gear went out once, I got it repaired, year after same gear out again. If the Lord allows I going with the 5 speed.

    #1 AFE Cold Air Intake
    #2 Taylor Throttle Body Spacer
    #3 DUAL EXAUST:
    > Bolt-On Magnaflow Catalytic Converters.
    > Bolt-On Magnaflow cat-back dual Exaust system.
    NOTE: adding a "CrossOver" after the Cat's will help balance the back-pressure and overall system performance.
    #4 Set of Performance coils.
    ...THEN do your tune.
    HANDLING:
    > Good Performance Struts.
    > 18x8 Wheels
    > 245 50R 18 Tires.
    * ...you Don't Need ZR rated tires.

      Afe cai is a huge waste of money, i returned mine. after finding out it didn't increase air flow at all, over stock. Afe is one of the only cai kits that won't cause a check engine light. You don't even need to tune it after installation of the afe. Because it does not increase air flow enough to lean out bank 1 or 2. Completely overpriced garbage. I bought the little aluminum cai kit off of ebay and it immediately throws a check engine light and definitely needed a tune after installation. Marty ochs even had to ask me which cai kit i had. Because he hasn't seen one that allowed that much air in. He said the afe is no better than the stock air box. He had to rewrite my tune to compensate for the aluminum $30 universal kit off of ebay. Afe is a joke.
      Throttle body spacer is pointless and waste of money.
      Magnaflow is pointless and waste of money. unless you have obx or stainless works long tube headers. Then your exhaust would need those upgrades.
      The most important mod for these you didn't even mention, is the jmod.
      All of the stuff you listed on here is a complete waste of money. When most of it can be duplicated with no cost or little cost. All the exhaust stuff you mentioned can be done damn near free. If you know how to weld and got time.

But even then in the summer by the time it reaches the engine it's hot air. I always feel a power increase on the cold winter days. Or at least my mind be playing tricks on me. 🤪

    I like the 30mpg highway I get with my 2.73 rear. If I ever run into a good 4.6 4-valve I'd swap it in. The manual trans swap seems like trouble.

      the manual swap isnt that bad in 92-2003 vics the others models would be kinda tough . there is few things YOU have to do.. 4v i may do 1 of these and thats it.. its not my Favorite engine buy its cool looking

    If you want to just go all motor, I would suggest a 5.4 Triton swap. You probably have that motor sitting somewhere in your garage. 30-40 extra horsepower and 60-70 more torque over the 4.6. You may have to modify your hood to get it all to fit but all in all a great swap that's practically free.

      @@bstfordchannel923 To be frank, the 5.4 is your best and most easiest way for more power on the cheap. It basically bolts up to almost everything under the hood, hardly any modification required besides cutting a hole in the hood unless you use the 4.6 intake. It's almost literally plug and play. As far as viewership, how many videos can you find out there that documents swapping out a 4.6 for a 5.4 in a panther AND making it work? Hardly. All you see are LS or coyote swaps and that's been done to death. YOU have the power to be unique. Obviously you get to decide what engine swap or power adder you'd use for the white vic, but IN MY OPINION, that's one of the best routes you could go

    On the extra horsepower for the last CV, Weight reduction. Take out the seats, or use racing seats. Carpet and sound deadening out, plastic or fiberglass hood, dorr panels out...etc I'm not sure how livable you want it, but if you are just looking to go fast, weight reduction is the cheapest horsepower in the world.

      You are correct weight reduction is cheap, but at what cost. is the car functional for the street? does still have a stock look? just think if a person made lighter Crown vic parts would people by them? Maybe maybe not people look for hp sad to say.. Power to rate ration must be balanced . 4000lb car needs 450hp and Tq to move it proper.

    On the white CV, I'd look for ways to shed weight. That car is a good 4000 pounds. I'm not saying ride with no doors, but a little chicken wire, some fiberglass matting and some plexiglas for the windows could be relatively cost effective. Drop a few hundred pounds off the car, and it'll wake up.
    Proof of concept: Lotus. Colin Chapman used to pull pieces off the car until it broke, then put the last piece back.

      what is odd the white vic is way lighter ( way way ) lighter hood is lighter that my 08, truck doors kinda the same.. I just need hp,, the car was made cheap.. I will make 1 vic light one day just mold hood and doors ( some how ) and fenders. Then it would be light.. I want to have at the least 3500lbs on the car if possible

    well simple swap get 3v 4.6. you will get more power from factory. and its minimal what ya have to change. I owned a 4.0 v6 mustang and made same power as or similar power as v2 4.6. it wasn't that seat back thrower. but when I drove my friends 4.6 v3 mustang gt 2005. it felt good!!

      very true if you put this in a Vic the cams will be locked so that extra umph you felt in your boys 3 valve will be missing.. It can be done and it can make the hp back with few mods

    If you have a 2005 and newer Crown Vic you can also tune with HP tuners watch a lot of people have that software and I think it only takes a couple credits

    You can get SR performance underdrive pulleys good for an honest 10hp and rather inexpensive however its not reccommended to use the alternator pulley as charging and power supply overall at idle would be very inefficient.
    Im about to begin mods to an 01 Grand Marquis and heres my list of mods that will be getting done.
    Convert to dual exhaust (remove rear cats and add Thrush welded mufflers.
    05 P71 air box assembly with the 80mm mass air.
    5.4L 70mm throttle body off E150 van.
    SR performance underdrive pulleys.
    3.55 gear
    TFI 2800rpm stall converter
    Transgo shift kit
    Heavy duty trans cooler
    SCT X4 Tuner (local speed shop dyno tune.)

      I am the same way to.. I battle with swap ideas a lot.. Ford only have Coyote and Gt500 swaps and you see the cost . You pay to play for sure when you dealing with a Ford Engine.. Now the Rear Gear change them to a 3.55 or 3.75 with a Traction lock.. 3.55 traction lock are in Explorers so you would be great there.. 4.11 is for racing you can get the thing off the line better ( with a traction lock )

      @@bstfordchannel923 aviator 4.6 is a long runner version of the 4v 4.6, and, a long runner intake means lower end torque. Not by alot, but in the barge that is the crown Victoria, you'll have a little surprise for the uneducated.

      its the old steering box nut, but make sure ( well if you love the car ) you need to change suspension parts 1st then ( tighten up steering box ) there is nut, but you have to play with it ( you have to unloosen bolt 1st ) then tighten down the inner thing .. You must check the steering abit... Thats why guys rather the 03 vics steering is better

    BST.... For the Aero I'd look for the 96' Explorer for the 302 and swap that out into your Aero... and then speed parts are cheap!

      @AUTONOMEN x I like that but the 460/C6, Not C4, swap is way too heavy for the Vick front suspension... that's why I'm looking at the 302/5.0 swap... there's tons of cheap mods to a 302 to bring it to life; one is the Cam, 302's have restrictive exhaust ports so add 8 degrees on the cam, I like a Comp Cam at 232 intake and 240 exhaust and that'l still give a good lope And vacuum for things like... Brakes :)

      @AUTONOMEN x Then take a hard look at the FMX, I had a 400hp 351 Windsor Street Boss and the FMX worked great... Cast iron case And you can use a big block bell housing... Then I swapped it out for a 4 speed :) in a 71' Galaxie500! Like the Crown Vicks, not quick but freaking fast on the hi-ways!

    Man I was shocked when you mentioned me at the end there! I appreciate that you care what I think. Frankly, we keep talking about old school carburated Fords, I think it might be time to pull the trigger on that. I think it would be cool for you to have the fuel injected and turbocharged 4.6 crown vic and then also have a carburated small block Ford crown vic! Then do a side by side comparison of the pros and cons with each. That would really separate you from the rest of the Panther guys on CZcams! It is really the only option if you want to make good power, have fun, and be different. Everyone else is already doing the coyote swaps, 5.4 swaps, terminator swaps, and LS swaps. Let your old school self blossom BST!😎👍🏻

    hey man, i’ve been working on the 5 speed swap on my 05 vic and i’m having trouble getting those side transmission bolts on each side that are up near the cats. got the very tops ones out but can’t get those side ones that are basically one step below them on each side. do you usually remove the cats to get them out? any tips to remove cats without messing up studs if so? any help is greatly appreciated

      Never removed the tranny but with the studs, soak them REALLY WELL in penetrating oil like pb blaster or WD40 and then slightly tighten each bolt first before you try to break them loose. This trick works excellent on anything rusty. Go back and forth between tightening and loosening the bolts if you hit a spot where it doesn't want to turn and you think you might break it. I use this trick a lot at work. I remanufactured rusty old CAT generators and this has helped me immensely since I figured this out.

      put the top ones back in and soak the bold like Harrison said.. jack the trasn up also to take some pressure ( if any ) on the bolts .. take your time do not snap nothing.. Normally we take of 1 cat and your good. some guys take off non.. i take them both out ( cause i was doing something different

      Heat up the bolts with a hand torch. Harbor freight has them cheep. Don't break the bolt off, take your time. Drilling out bolts sux more than any job I promise!

      if you have that cv you have a more solid car ( it was not beat on like p71 or 72 ) leave the air box for now. You can do the Pulleys IF they where used or on sale. They cost 250 for a good set. Throttle body and plenum cost about 500 new. Its best to get a sct scanner to check your car out THEN get you a tune for your car THEN you will feel the difference. maybe get some 3.55 gears and a K&N air filter is all you need. Simple. you can do throttle body nothing crazy though,

    Ok i was able to finally find all motorcraft replacement parts for my front and rear suspension except the loaded strut. I had a mechanic check my springs, and they said they are good, so i just went ahead and bought two motorcraft struts. What other harware do i need to buy for the strut since it wasn't a loaded one. Like i sai, my springs are still goo, so i dont need those? I wanted to try to go full motorcraf, and i already bought the struts.

    Headers, gears, tune and j-mod. All a Crown Vic needs to have some fun. You won’t be breaking records but it will definitely make the car more enjoyable

      Very true headers $900 -up ,Gears $450 DIY or 700-up shop, Jmod $70 and time, Tune Auto $150 and 5 speed $250.. You are correct bro thats all a vic needs I would skip 2 mods for the average person that would be headers and jmod car would be just as good

    Gears are not cheap cheap most shops want 500+ without parts and a tune is need to correct your miles per hour that's 300+
    To me a good tune up will bring back lost power and throttle response for most guys
    E85 fuel or 93 Oct is by far the cheapest option

      gears NEW aint cheap ( I bought a Explorer rear for $150 with 3.55 and with traction loc . New clutches cost $70. Or bought a section from a Ranger 4.11 gears and traction lock $80. So you can wiggle around that a bit.. If you have scanner you can calibrate the speedo.. Or you get the tune like you said to dial things in.. Tune up is sweet, but many want more ponies vs a car running good with zero gains. The vics aint cheap to make them move, but if you put the money in the right places you can do something.. Some guys buy headers and cams thats over 2k.. its really up to the person how they want to do this..

      whats up Don , well bro get the trans 1st 3650 trans then work your way to flywheel , then clutch parts... Once you get that then you have to get the clutch pedals

      I thank you for this bro.. I try to make it happen with parts thats around... I change ideas due to what is around ( and what is not ) If i go to junkyard and they have 4.6 dohc for cheap i will be forced to take that route. Like you mention if you have money you cab build anything with power. Now take 4k and build something fast that cost the Trust fund babies 20k thats the allure for me. You get the vibes Brian

    BST I want you to check out my paint progress video. I'm painting the car in sections, outside, and with spray cans. So far the hood is the hardest to get right everything else no problem. The Front bumper is spectacular. It's not green but it is a small 2 door Ford, you might be interested in this off the shelf paint. Wish there was a picture section for CZcams, my phone camera sucks at video.

      @@bstfordchannel923 I keep going outside to look at it. Today there was some rain on it. Each bead of water had purples at the bottom it was picking up from the paint. Darker light more blues and even some purple, bright light teal blue, sunset I expect some teal green. I figured you'd like it. Bahama Blue Metallic, it's a GM color at the parts store. SSSSSHHHHH ;-) I've never seen a GM car painted this color. Oh, and it absolutely needs white primer or it will not pop. It won't have that neon almost harlequin glow.
