- Gain INSTANT off the line acceleration on any cable driven panther car with the throttle cable zip tie mod! one of the few "cheap" mods for your crown vic that you can ACTUALLY feel the difference!
this is hands down the cheapest quickest most affordable mod for any and all crown vics, grand marquis and towncars out there - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Due to rising inflation, supply chain issues, and a potential global military conflict, this mod is now $2 instead of $1
😂
Its already gone up to about $2.37
1 month update, $4.95 I think.
Bout 6.57 with tax now
That would be Joe biden
That mod is almost as awe’s as that color, man I’m in love and 100% jealous!

Painting mine this color now
The zip tie mod has its origins going way back in time to carbureted engines - that one of the first tuning "tricks" was simply to verify that wide open throttle was really 100% open. A surprising number of cars with older rod or cable throttles were poorly adjusted or improperly assembled or had something restricting the accelerator pedal travel. Once fixed it was the closest thing to free horsepower!
*Pulls up to red light*
"Hold up...i gotta adjust my zip tie"😈🔥
quick question im thinkin about swapping my trans to a 6 speed automatic you think the sct tune will still work?
@@jordanrobertson5241 Get a hold of Marty at Mo's speed shop in Georgia he's the Panther SCT Tune Master he would definitely know.
Can you make a video on determining P71/P7B value for selling and buying please?
Good to see you back godfather. Stay safe, keep the content coming.
Thanks for the content! I’ve watched a bunch of your videos and love them! Bought my first panther 2 months ago (99 LTC) and previous owners didn’t care how it looked, engine bay was filllllthy, wipers didn’t work etc. been working on it bit by bit every weekend. Looks and feels like a different car and love it.
I remember I did this to my mustangs 20 years ago lol. I’m old. But it helps so much. What it does it opens the butterfly quicker and I notice on my old 2000 gt that it finally was able to open that butterfly fully open at full throttle.
Zip ties will work, but I used a 3way wire splitter connector that I clamped onto the cable. Works just as good n made it to having absolutely no slack.
I got " one of those". 2010.
The throttle response is already pretty dope though.
I did this on my 77 chevy custom deluxe, was really surprised with the results
rename it how to turn a 30 second video into 11 min
I did this with my 2000 Ranger 2.5L, and it made a night and day difference! I now have better acceleration, and more passing power. And I only have to tip toe the throttle to cruise at 60 now, when before, I had to keep it at halfway throttle.
I played with this today on my 03. Super worth! But I ended up finding some spare copper ac line, cut a slit and flared one end. I slipped it over after some measuring made sure it was right and crimped it. Permanent, stiff, taught. Took about 5 minutes instead of the 30 seconds but zip ties give and wear too much. It I want to remove my mod though, I need to delicately peel/cut the little copper tube.
Did this to all 3 Ford rangers I’ve owned. Solid tip.
I used one of them adjustable bike brake bolts, they fit right in and allow you to adjust the slak
I've owned 3 mustang gt's, and an 01' lightning. This actually works! I've done it to multiple vehicles.
Just wondering if you could add the newer videos to the playlist so it'd would be easier to find them.
How will this stack up to another CVPI like mine which is a 2010. How would the 0 to 60 speeds be Can u do this comparrison
Did this to my 2001 crown Vic makes a good difference
i remember raising hell on them back roads in Jezebel! Good Times!...lmao to that horse when you do those pulls!
What kind of tires do you have e? My Mercy marquis spins the tire if I take off too fast. Do you have posi traction? Good video..👍thanks
I am going to check my 2000 Grand Marquis to see if I have the same kind of acceleration pedal.
You said only work on 98 and up works on my 96 very well thank you for tip
I have a 2004 Lincoln TC. I see where this CV has the shifter on the floor. How much was the cost to move it from the column to the floor? Thanks
How did you get those 06-11 p71 Steelers did you use adapters because I know the wheels sit flushed in the wheel wells on 94-02
2 inch hubcentric wheel spacers
I have a better way to adjust the throttle cable from the throttle body. It adds a throttle cable adjuster to the throttle using only an M6 1.0 at 40 MM long bolt, 3 nuts, and 4 washers (all preferably stainless). Mounted using the hole for the bolt that holds the throttle cable against a bracket that holds it in place. Plus an extra spring for the throttle return.
OMG I can't wait to do this tomorrow 🥳🙏🏻
Add a bit glue and it's gonna stay strong enough it won't slip out kinda permanent 🤣. I'm making a mod video over on odysse for obs chevy mods so I'll try it.
At my own risk!🤣👌
It seems that it would be better to put the zip tie behind the plastic piece with the slot. Then the grommet would sit tightly against the slotted hole.
I have the same Vic same color it’s a 09 I’ve been looking for the lather seat I have the police seat I’m not to much a fan of it do you mind sharing where you get your seats from
How hard do you think it would be swapped the newer speedo to an 04 Vic
What size rim and tires are on your Vic? Thanks
ok im gonna try this on my 95 4.6 tbird. You da man bro
Would this still work on a cng ? And does this kill your gas mileage ? Im curiouse I just bought one this morning
Any idea where's to buy a taillight assembly for 96 crown vic
what year is yours? because I see a middle shifter. I perfume cars with middle shifter
I don’t think I understand… are you just removing slack from the cable? Is there any possibility that the cable has stretched over the last 300,000 miles? Is it not adjustable at the throttle?
Yeah that's exactly what I thought as well
Did this to my 86 vic last year.
had to get a cushion for the seat, my seats r in good condition for im too low, feels like it atleast
We about that broke life, I laughed out loud.
I definitely can't throw a money at my cars is like I used to
Yaaa zip tied mine because my mustang of the same year was the same way. Ford put tons of slack on their late 90s and early 2000s cars.
Where exactly did you put the zip at
Will it work on a 2003 grand Marquis
i have pedal extender on my crown vic can i still do this mod???? plz help
I just tried this I think I did it correctly. Honestly I think I prefer the normal feel but maybe I’m just not used to it yet. I have a heavy foot while driving and it seems to make it worse as the pedal feels heavier. Could just be me. Anyone else feel the same?
i used a break lever screw off bicycle lol slotted screw the slot nut on backside
czcams.com/video/oacaq_1TkMU/video.html
I’m trying to do that on my 99 grand marquise but I’m a little confused
Love crown mods
Bro i love you so much😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 i just got a 1,000 vic 60,000 miles😂 it was a cemetery security car so this thang is mint
Is this for 2011 crown vic also
*Can you make a video on determining P71/P7B value for selling and buying please?*
Looking to sell or trade my 2011 P7B for another 2011 P7B. How can I professionally value my Vic???
It's been well maintained by the previous LEO owner and especially myself. It's in excellent running condition, everything Transmition, Engine, brakes, you name it, all maintained and cared for! The only downsides are aesthetic. Minor rust on wheel wells, dim/not at all showing odometer, hood latch opener not working properly. All of which are super easy, cheap, but a little time consuming fixes.
As of 2022 how do I value my P7B to the best price??? Please help, I know you're the best guy to help us all!!!
I'm willing to give my opinion if you want it. Been buying and selling for years private and commercial. All I need is pics and miles.
Where can I get wheels like that? Do they have a name?
🤔 I should try this on my '00 mgm, the pedal position actually cramps my hip lol
Thank you for the info
Kind of off topic. Has anyone seen the canshift systems on crown Vic’s earlier than 2005? I have a 2000 I want to put it on but idk how it will work
Why cant this be done on the engine up by the throttle body? Is it not the same? I used this trick 20 years ago on a stretched kick down (shift) cable. Made a huge difference! Cables stretch over time. They are braided wire. It will happen. Good on you to show this.
it can be and i did it because it was easier for me, pull the cable off the throttle body put your zipties on then pull the cable back through the body using the end of the ziptie as the new anchor then ziptie around the anchor spot to keep it from coming out and take the original anchor and ziptie it to the spring return spot just to keep it out of the way
Hey mr.random is the panther fest going to happen in March at Alabama this year?
might be happening in TN
@@MrRandomReviews
Please keep us updated!!!
like the torque flex lol
Gimme that front grille, I need one that’s color matched😭
I see a couple white zip ties in front of the black one. Do you need the white ones on there too?
The white ones are far more superior. That's why they go first
I got a 02 gran marquis with the same 4.6 platform. Will it work on my gran marquis as well?
yup
wouldnt i risk snapping the throttle body cable if i do this ?
youre suppose to like tighen a bolt or screw back there and its fixed i thought
& you get more turn on throttle body
I miss my 03 Vic had a drunk driver hit me and my family head-on and totaled my Vic 😭😭😭😭 and everyone wants like 6k for a car with almost 200k miles and not so good colors
Yeah that’s how much they’re going for, actually there’s none for sale at all so quit looking.
@@banditpsycho3573 there are plenty of them I'm just looking for very specific equipment and color
Just keep your eye on FB marketplace, and sort them to by most recently posted. Keep your eye on it cause they go quick. My wife found me a 2000 TC in autumn red with 108k for $4200. They're getting snatched up quick
@@banditpsycho3573 I’ve seen almost 100 crown Vic’s for sale... and probably 200 or more grand marquis and town cars
Beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏👏
are you in TN?
I remember the 80s era Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Scirocco ...they had a big plastic button on the bottom of the floorboard to prevent you from pushing the accelerator pedal all the way down.
you simply took a hacksaw and cut it off and then you had a lot more horsepower available.
czcams.com/video/oacaq_1TkMU/video.html
A forklift at my old job had that lol
@@Yophillips3272 lol..did you remove it ?
@@NBC_NCO No, definitely thought about it though. It was night shift and I would mostly just joyride it around the lot.
@@Yophillips3272 They say...it's the thought that counts.
I'm looking to trade my Lincoln Towncar back to a Crown Vic. Or sell it to purchase another CV. Appreciate the content.
Get the mercury, perfect middle ground
A Lincoln Town Car is a Crown Vic with better sheet metal design.
Honestly my crownvic rides like a truck, I'm looking for a towncar back seat to put in. I already switched out the awful vinyl seats in the front to leather and have center console/ cup holders now.
I got a 2003 Lincoln town car with adjustable pedals the throttle body is a cable one would this work like yours mr randon thank u 🙏🥰😇
yes it works on your lincoln too
@@MrRandomReviews hell yeah thank u sir I love your videos my sister lives in Sheffield Alabama your the best bro keep them videos coming 🙌🤟🥰😇🙏
Very good vídeo 👍👍👍👍👍
This will also work on Aeros btw
this will work on any car with a cable
What about 01 grand Marquis
It really works jux did it
This used to be the mod for the Ford Ranger
Zip ties That add zip. Interesting idea
One to our need a tachometer. Two I need some parts from the parts car
Oh and race me for hub caps lol 😆😆😆😆
Will having a pedal that moves defeat this purpose? I have a 04 mgm
It shouldn't, my 03 mgm has a moving pedal box (it doesn't work, but that's not the point). Next time you get in your car put your toe behind the gas pedal and lift up to see if it has the slack he's talking about. Mine does, I would imagine yours does too
the LX sport in the video has moving pedals and the mod worked fine. it still has the "safety slack" even with movable pedals
Good luck 👍
Great mod. I think your LSE is a little weak, my completely stock 03LSE with 72k and brand new Michelin Defenders will consistently lay 10-20 feet of rubber, even when it's 90°f out.
Buy a rear locker
@@alexyoungberg5232 I'm keeping it 100% stock, I have an 04Ultimate that's modded.
@@alexyoungberg5232 My 2010 CVPI has Posi and does that very easily. she also has a 3:27 rearend
@@rickyhammond3437 maybe Mr Randoms car needs a tune up and it was really heat soaked or his traction control was on. It just didn't seam to pull as hard as it should, All LSEs come with 3.27 gears and no posi.
Mine is most definitely Posi ( whether someone built it that way I can't say but she has full blown posi) and yes it does have 3:27 rear it's a Maine State Police. My Friend has one from the county and his has a 3:55
Will there be another P71 meet up this year?
im planning a big one...once the weather gets warmer

Whats your real opinion on a dohc 5.4 in a panther?
from what ive seen getting the engine dialed in seems to be the worst part
@@MrRandomReviews Ive got a 01 Grand Marquis. I want more hp. Are the dohc 4.6s worth it
What can I do for my 2010
get a tune
make zip tie bumper stickers :)
Crown Vic lx sport
Still cant tell where to exactly put the zip tie
I agree. He did a suck job of showing that. He definitely enjoyed moving the pedal a lot but never showed how to install the zip tie.
@@john-vy1ml right
@@john-vy1ml if you cant figure out where to install the zip tie after watching this video....then this mod is DEF not for you
Lol get down there and look at the pedal, then pull the pedal opposite the way your foot will push it. You’ll notice slack. Then you’ll see the distance between where it sits and when you’re pulling it. While pulling it or holding the pedal up ( away from the floor ). Slip a few or one big zip tie on there to take away that slack. You’ll notice the pedal sitting up much higher then before. Then test. And enjoy smiles per gallon :)!
I own a Sn 95 Mustang GT ...I did all the Mods...Heads, Cam, Intake, Larger Throttle Body and Mass Air. and Headers and 2 1/2 Flow masters... the day i finished up on Putting the Engine back into the bay .... And About 4,000 Miles of a Small Break in Period for the parts .... i was wondering why i felt Like i Lost POWER with the Mods? so i went on a HUNT..lol ... I had My GF at the time to Depress the throttle as i Looked down throttle Body and i Noticed....it was only 3/4 Open?....I asked Her if she had it all the Pedal all the way Down...She Answered "YES" so i gave her a Camera to Take a Pic of the Throttle Body as I Pushed down on it...YEP! i was only 3/4 open ....so i did a Little Trial and error and found a Small Broom Handle about 1/2 inch long and cut it only Half way through and Put it on the end of the Gas Pedal Cable then crimped back together with Zip Ties at the Pedal Grommet.....NOT only did it give a Higher and stiffer Gas Pedal FEEL.... But completely opened the Throttle Body to Near 100% Capacity! that is when i found ALL the Horse Power I was Looking for!!! It has Been about 15 years since i did this Mod and i had forgotten about it...lol ... Until i just seen your Video... it is Hands DOWN the Most USEFUL Up grade you can do! And to test that for yourself. Take off the Zip Tie and Check Throttle Valve Angle With and without the small Mod.. You will be surprised not only did it Stiffen the Pedal and reaction time...But MOVED the Throttle Body Angle to Almost Completely OPEN! Amazing little Mod! Have fun Bro! Be safe! and I really Enjoy your Channel and Updates! ;)
Wow I definitely never knew this and I own a sn197 and I always wondered why it wasn't giving out much throttled now I know smh finna have a fun summer this year lol 😂
1:33 is more like 4 door sedan F150's 😂😅
It wont work on my 03 grand marquis Gs
So only difference for the electronic is to just get a bigger throttle body.
What size wheel spacers did you use on you vic I have a 2002 p71 I want to put those rims on mine as well.
2inch
@@MrRandomReviews thank you I was a bit confused on the size that would fit right so 2inch front and back then thanks again

Yea maybe keep the camera up and down vs what you did as well as video how you put on zip tie looks like you pupl the cord our and then placed zip yie behind it not sure but your ao elaborate on your communications but not on visual on the application
