It's a shame they don't do their homework to know the full history like who the true indigenous people of Judea(the true name of what they refer to as Palestine)are, or that Judaism is a millennium older than Islam, or that many very poor Jewish people in Europe pooled their money to buy back some of the land in Judea(that was stolen from them), or that the name Palestinian is barely over a hundred years old and describes an amalgamation of various Arabs that wanted a title for political purposes. That most other Arab countries don't allow Palestinians into their countries That Egypt also shares a walled border with Gaza.. And that Palestinian "refugees" have been on the dole from UNRWA for 80 years non-stop, even though many have Jordanian citizenship. They spew phrases without knowing the historical meaning, or geography they refer to. I just can't figure out how they got into university, really......

Here's a question for you to ponder that many people have pondered and come to a plausible conclusion about: Why did it take Netanyahu several hours before he took any action on October 7th, leaving "his people" to flounder in terror for hours, apparently receiving news of the attack from a slow-flying carrier pigeon? If you'd like to know what that conclusion is, again, let me know and I'd be happy to share it with you.

With all the chants for "free free Palestine" have any of these students stopped to envision what a "free Palestine" would actually look like. Would it be a democratically elected government that respects the opposition? Would there full freedom of religion, speech, and representation in government and society in general? Would there be fair representation for all minorities including LGBTQ and would women be able to fully participate in society and work if they choose? Would they have a government that values peace with its neighbors as their main goal?
Lets look at all the other predominately Moslem and Arab countries not only in the region but the entire world for some clues. How many have any level of respect for individual liberty, freedom of religion or freedom from religion, governments embracing minority groups, respect for and living in peace and understanding with their neighboring countries? Can we use Syria or Yemen as a model? How about Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, or Afghanistan for that matter? Egypt or Lebanon?
The Palestinian people have shown 3/4 of a century of being their own worse enemy turning away from one compromise after another and when given the chance a murderous infighting between Hamas and the PA not to mention always resorting to violence to further their goals. What governments they have do not respect their own people, preventing free elections and using them as sacrificial pawns in a massive propaganda camping to demonetize the other side.
If they had taken a more reasonable and peaceful path with the willingness to compromise and control some of the more base passions that all humans have they would have long ago had their own nation, self determination and peace and prosperity.

Has Hamas made a point of keeping their activities confined to areas where the populace would not simply become collateral damage? Does Hamas want any sort of peace that does not involve wiping Israel off the map? They haven't really given any signs of that. So exactly what is the point of these protests and disruptions? This is a more balanced report than one earlier in the day. A teacher saying "Students were crying in despair" is not relevant to the issue at hand. These people (students and teachers) can afford to pay tuition at the school and/pr receive a fairly generous salary to be at in this instance Columbia. Despair is not a word to describe people who chose the actions they are taking. The people in actual despair are people in Gaza who are under threat of attack or the people in Israel who were targeted when the initial rockets entered Israel. If they really want to help, raise funds or get in kind donations which could be sent to people in Gaza. If they say that wouldn't work, have they really tried to improve the lives of others. Get on a bus to DC to protest in front of the Capitol or White House to have elected officials negotiate sending in aid. Or maybe contact some countries' missions at the UN to work on the issue to use their relations to accomplish their goals. Whether students are sad or teachers are in despair is irrelevant to the people of Gaza, Israel and Palestine who have had their personal safety effected by the actions of the leaders of their governments.
