Jasmine Crockett wasn’t just responding to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s insult about her appearance, she was also replying to the House Oversight Chair James Comer’s unbelievable declaration that Greene’s insult did NOT violate House rules on personalities. So she asked a logical question: “….if someone on this Committee then starts talking about a bleach blond, bad built butch body, that would NOT be engaging personalities, correct?” It was just a bonus that the question perfectly described Marjorie Greene.

There have been sporadic bursts of crappy behavior over the nation's history. One thing that keeps it in check is party leaders who keep rank and file members on a short leash. For those who have been in a coma for the past 2 years, or were otherwise not paying attention.. Protests of SCOTUS led to several Anti-Protest measures being put in place, including a brand new "Unscalable" Fence around the Supreme Court, ~$20 Million for a private police force for the Scotus, etc..
Also SCOTUS continues to decline hearing cases where protesters rights have been violated giving states the ability to pass all sorts of anti-protest laws.
Which has had a Chilling effect on protesting SCOTUS. Of course that hasn't stopped protests of the Court.. but you're not gonna see massive protests unless it's a huge issue.

Campuses legally are still protected fairly well, and protests at a Campus can put pressure on a University to divest from Israel.
There is little to nothing a University could do to put pressure on the Supreme Courts Justices. Especially with their lifetime appointments.

Calling out a racist is the responsibility of every decent person, whether they are in Congress. It is disgusting that the leaders did not sanction MTG and remove her words. This made it imperative that Crocket standup as a black woman against such racism. I am proud she spoke up. To use Michael Obama’s words to supposedly curb a black woman’s right to speak in her defense is also insulting.

In the Maga world they use different modes of expressing racism. Blacks have many aspects of their looks used to bring them down instead of debating the facts like equals. Black women especially hear slurs about hair, makeup, color of clothes. It is an underhanded method of discounting their intelligence and accomplishments. Civil dialogue is not MTG Style. She is constantly using personal insults to get attention. That would be great as a stand-up comedian but she is a US Representative in Congress. I'm all for the response of Ms. Crockett, we can't be playing by a different set of rules. Comer, the committee chair, failed to uphold the rules and so Crockett cleverly asked for clarification on what base attack would trigger the rules under his chairmanship of the committee. Now, did they strike Congresswoman Crockett's words and not Greene's personal attack?
Eddie Glaude is right, a majority of constituents in her district have to vote someone else in to replace her. But I'll bet that its just a plurality of her constituents that are keeping her in. Many people don't vote at all, and that includes MTG's district. So if she is going to be replaced, a majority of voters in her district are going to have to come together to do it and not rely on minority rule in that district.

My father is a Retired District Court Judge in Arizona, I am his errant elder son, we argue and agree often. When I wanted a perspective about the law, he would never give me free legal advice, just an honest opinion. He is an Original Young Republican, worked for Barry Goldwater. I know it's as though a lifetime of confidence in the law, is now in a quagmire, a web of political convenience, lost of any real principil.
