    I just thought my CFexpress was hot after transfer because all the fire I shot on that card.

    Just ordered the 2 versions of the Sandisk Pro based on the strength of this review. The other model has the same matching cabinet design and dimensions and reads CF Cards type one: SD Cards UHS type ii and microSD UHS type ii cards: reader has 3 separate slots for the above. Type ii cards are backwards compatible which means type 1 cards can be read (and used) as well. These look like $$ well spent. 😊😊😊

    Just found your channel! And its came at the best time possible, the sandisk professional does the job i need, to offload cards fast and not heat up the card like its in an oven! Your review has definitly made me happy in my purchase with a reader for my sandisk 512gb cfexpress card for my R5! Appectie it dude :)

    may be cache on a mac. what you need to do is create two 256gb with different content of file for each reader then try to transfer again.

    this video came up on YT when I searched "cfexpress type b reader" it was one of the top 3 shown so I wanted to leave that info here. Nice video, I just got the R5 (2 days ago) and I'm loving it as my EOSRP upgrade. I also wanted to say that I bought a CHEAP reader also on Amazon- returning tomorrow- and I might go for this one now. Nice videos man, keep them up!

    I would love to see a test where a strong fan is blowing on the ProGrade to get some sort of indication if heat might be responsible for the slow down.

    i get confused w/memory cards & readers especially when I'm copying verses just moving, the speeds are all over the place

    Would be curious to see the results between the ProGrade Thunderbolt 3 Reader and the Sandisk Pro. ProGrade offers 2 types of CFExpress readers, but the TB3 one is almost always sold out.

    • @StevenSchultz
      @StevenSchultz  Před 2 lety +1

    i would proffer that the difference may be down to SanDisk QuickFlow technology, which i know that that reader has, and IF your card is also QuickFlow enabled then that will likely be why.

    so what about sandisk card? are they reliable? cfexpress are expensive so better to make a deeper research

    • @StevenSchultz
      @StevenSchultz  Před rokem +1

      Hey John! I’ve only had positive experiences with SanDisk. Their CF Express cards are super fast and reliable, and everyone I know who uses them, loves them. I agree though, it’s important to do deep research on these things! Thanks so much for watching!

    Doesn't your computer tell you the transfer speeds? I know 4 minutes is faster than 8 minutes.... but WHAT IS THE TRANSFER SPEED?

    i have this sandisk reader and the fast Angelbird sx160 pro but only have 600MB/s. I will buy the prograde tb3 reader

  • @soundtempleAU

    Will the sandisk reader work with Angelbird cards? I've heard that some readers have issues with different brands. Will read one brand but won't read another one.

    How about just plug the usb cable from your camera to your laptop and transfer that way with the card inside your camera?

    • @StevenSchultz
      @StevenSchultz  Před rokem

      That totally works too! I actually used to do that for a long time just so I didn't take the cards in and out of my camera so much. But from personal experience, the in-camera transfer speed is a lot slower than using a CFExpress reader.

    • @StevenSchultz

      This one only works with CF Express! SanDisk makes a separate Pro-Reader for SD cards.
