Glock 47 MOS was developed in 2019 for United States Customs and Border Patrol and is now available to the commercial market! The Glock 47 MOS has a shortened dust cover and maintains parts compatibility with the Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS, 19 Gen MOS, and 45 MOS.

Just bought the G47. Already purchased and about to add trijicon suppressor height sights and a Holosun SCS red dot to it. Will probably add talon grips soon too.

@@armedinmichigan also I added these upgrades to mine, Holosun 407c GRN, Ameriglo suppressor height sights, solid stainless steel guide rod, +2 base plates on my factory mags, TRL-1s, and a Glock performance trigger. I also bought 7 PMags. On my 19 GEN 5, which is a none MOS, +2 base plates on the factory mags, 7 PMags, Ameriglo Hackathorn night sights, Alpha Wolf barrel, factory length, TRL-1 HL, and a Glock Performance trigger. If you have a GEN 5 19 and you are looking to get a 17 GEN 5. I would recommend the The Glock 47. You can have a 4 in 1 pistol system. 19, 47, 45, and or a 19 L.

Will it fit in a glock 17 safariland holster? Safariland sells one for the 47 also?

That I wouldn't know how their holsters fit.. Sometimes its because a Gen 5 slide is a little wider

Maybe I’m not understanding the “not released to civilian market” part? Initially it wasn’t but I see these literally everywhere now. You can even buy them online from bass pro or whoever you want, I just looked.

It was first developed only for Border Patrol and was not released to the civilian market. It was then released to the civilian market a year or so after that.
