    Thanks I enjoyed watching your video for a little refresher. I have a Big Kick which is the Michaels version of the Big Shot and I received as a gift a Big Shot Plus. That thing is massive!

    Thanks for the great information. I recently purchased the Sizzix Big Kick. I can't find a lot of videos on that particular model so I've been watching videos on the Big Shot instead. And btw, you did not talk too much. I usually watch videos while cooking or doing the dishes and can't always watch what's going on so listening to details is the next best thing. Thank again!

      ahh thank you for that it really does help to get that feedback cos I have to say i was getting a little paranoid lol! It s ok on my regular videos as my regulars are used to me, but ones like this tend to bring in new viewers and so I do get concerned, so really appreciate what you said, have a safe and happy holidays, amanda

      Just an FYI- I also have a Big Kick. The only difference is the color of it, same machine. Big Kick is sold at chain/big box stores. 🙂

    Great explanation Amanda, especially for beginners. We had our turquoise big shots about the same time. Mine is still going strong with the long plate, I love it! It’s a marvellous machine and have never found a die it won’t take. Stay safe. X💓

    • @lollilulucrafts
      @lollilulucrafts  Před 3 lety

      thanks, didnt realise you had one the same. i love the colour so wish they still made it - and if they do please dont tell me now lol! as i was saying to layla below it was separating on the frame so the pressure on the dies was less cos it was opening a little as it went through. I would have waited longer but then saw that at that great price so figured well got to get one at some point soon so ... Glad you found it helpful and liked the video, I am always so conscious esp on videos like this where non-regulars watch more than other videos, that i get told off by them for talking too much and that I should just get on and show the machine. But to me I want to not just show the machine but explain it and how it works and why its good etc etc so that takes talking. its hard to try and just do me when so conscious of that but hopefully managed to get an ok balance. you regular ladies (and gents) never moan at me, prob used to me by now lol but I have tried to get better at video length, it doesn't come natural lol. Anyway big hugs lovely xx

      @@lollilulucrafts Wow Amanda, you never should worry about the length of explanation, you go into such detail, surely that’s what everyone needs to know before they spend their hard earned cash especially these days.Your reviews are excellent, can’t do without them. Stay safe. 🥰🎃

    I like the extended platform and cutting plates, but I HATED the platform with the shims hinged all together on it. It makes it so hard to maneuver and way too long. I don't have that much space. So, I got to looking at the platform and unscrewed all those hinged shims and cut off the hinges from the shims. Now it is SO MUCH easier to work with. Hope that solution helps someone that's having the same issue, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that did not like the attached shims.

    • @lollilulucrafts
      @lollilulucrafts  Před rokem

      I so agree, although I rarely used that part as I got the magnetic platform when I did use it, well actually I would use a different machine as like you I hated that. So if I had to emboss for eg I would use my cuttlebug but now so much better. I think they must have realised it was a no no in the end 🙂

    Hi Amanda, very nice video. I love the Big Shot. I let myGrand kids use it to craft with me and I myself use the Big Shot plus for large dies and the Vagabond 2 for everything else. I use to have a Grand Calibur, but it didn't hold up at all, the Big shots go on and on for years and years. I hope you have a great weekend. Hugs.

    • @lollilulucrafts
      @lollilulucrafts  Před 3 lety

      They do dont they, my blue/aqua one is still ok but the frame has a crack, and it is separating as i put dies through so not getting the pressure. My fault i dropped it, sadly as loved that colour. I would have carried on with it but this new one was at such a good price it seemed silly not to get it when I was going to have to get a new one at some point in the not too distant future. I agree with you about the grand calibur never really loved mine either. I know the big shot has a larger footprint cos it doesn't fold but I do wonder if that is the reason it lasts and cuts so well?! xx

    You can use a self healing cutting mat for the cutting plate! It works great!

      I do have to say, as Spellbinders has contacted me more than once in the past, that if you use anything other than standard plates it will void the warranty. Otherwise though I appreciate the tip :-)

      Im so glad to hear you found it helpful, you will notice the title includes the chat comment as I am so often criticised in the past for not doing a simple open the box and show the product video. For me I always wanted to go into more detail but I was getting accused of talking too much lol, hence why I made sure it was in the title this time. So its so nice to hear when actually it has been of help to someone as it makes it all worthwhile. Appreciate you taking time to comment , hugs Amanda

      You will love this machine. When you watch my videos you will see I use it’s predecessor all the time! Btw if you can, and I guess it will depend where in the world you are, use the links to make your purchase (you will find them at the bottom of my blog post - link in the para below this video) then that would really help me. It doesn’t cost you anymore but it gives me a tiny % which helps me carry on making these videos. Hope you don’t mind me asking. It is a very unbritish thing to do so I do find it a bit uncomfortable to say lol! Enjoy your machine x

    Thank you for that very well informed video. I have just received my machine today and of course i was swearing because it didnt work first time. I eill try the angle as you say because ive done a few sheets and pulled it yhrough the machine a few times and still my dies are not cutting properly. They were also quite tight going through. I know it must have some elbow grease but not ad much as i seem to be doing.

    Thank you. My big shot plus has just arrived and your tip about adding a shim in the middle is helpful.
    My big shot foldaway never had any issues with my most delicate of dies. Such as gemini edgeables and snowflakes. Sadly tired both today and won't cut the middle :( I want to cry :(.
    Bought this to upgrade so I can do 5 x 7 cards on a horizontal etc and ready today that turning dies along their side is actually bad and won't work? Any truth in this?

      Ahh just seen this message. Sorry it came up out of order for some reason. It does sound like something isn't right but it might not be the machine necessarily. So please first excuse me if I am asking the obvious but want to start with basics. I assume you are making the sandwich as follows thick white base plate, clear 'cutting' plate, embossing folder with card inside, then finally the other clear plate? When you put the Embossing folder through are you putting inside the plates so it goes through the machine dead straight? I will link a video I did about this re the dies but the same thing applies to the embossing folders. Going through dead straight can put to much strain on the rollers in one go. czcams.com/video/3A01ziAJVw8/video.html Next have you tried the sandwich with the embossing folder that came with the machine (I assume they still do this?) and if so are you having the same issue? Amanda 🙂
