  • We replaced the clutch, flywheel, clutch master and slave cylinders in a 95 F150 but we still weren't getting full disengagement. Turns out some wear on our clutch pedal assembly was to blame. Seems like this is a common problem on the 87 and later trucks.

This video helped a TON in getting to the clutch pivot, but my issue was with the retaining ring on the pivot itself The one that was on there was plastic (nothing should be plastic). It broke and allowed the clutch pivot to slip out. $0.43 fix. Thanks for the help.

Glad we could help. These assemblies have always been a pain, mainly due to their location and not being able to service the pieces when they go bad. Just imagine the labor cost of this if it had to be repaired by the dealer. 🙄

Great video, brother. That was a lot of great information. That looked like a big project.

Thanks. It truly sucked having to pull the steering column and big aluminum bracket. I just want to be done with this truck and move on.

@allhailinternalcombustion ya, I get that there is a lot to that.

Do you know of any other way to get the clutch lever shaft off without a air hammer?

While it's up under the dash, no. If you can get the whole assembly to a workbench you could hammer it out with a bench vise and some pry bars. They're a real big pain in the butt.
