- Andrew and Crystal take us to a Chinese vegetarian restaurant. Have you had vegetarian Chinese food?
CORRECTION Soy does NOT contain estrogen. It contains something similar to estrogen, but it has NOT been proven to have the same effects.

The whole "estrogen" thing is actually a myth.... It would take a lot of soy in a diet to change hormone levels. Don't worry too much about eating soy. Theres a lot of worse foods out there
Yes agreed. It’s actually a myth. 🙂
Preach. 💯
I think eating chicken or drinking milk increase estrogen way more than soy
OMG... they got everything right! The types of vegetarian. Points to her for pointing out she's a pescatarian (most people don't even know what that is) and for pointing out that vegetarianism isn't inherently healthy - you have to be creative. Excellent video!
Omg yay a vegetarian episode!! You guys should try Vietnamese vegetarian food. There’s a couple in South El Monte and I’ve tried all of them but I think the best ones are Thien Tam Vegetarian Restaurant and Veggie Life Restaurant. Everything on the menus tastes like the real dish.
YAS! We have a Vietnamese vegan restaurant in Calgary too and it's super bomb!
Mmmm i love #24 at thien tam
Finally a vegan/vegetarian video!!! Thanks (aou deh!)
Yo I've been waiting for this episode for so long!!! Them vegan gainz 🌱🌱🌱
Andrew, you should try eating the vegan food that Buddhist monks eat.
The best vegetarian Chinese food I ever had was at the Po Tin Monastery on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. When you get there (I had to take a hair-raising bus trip but there's a cable car now) get a ticket not only for the giant Buddha statue, but for the restaurant. The mushroom dishes and the soup were fantastic. Best meal in Hong Kong.
Yes! OMG I had that way back in 2009 (my only trip to HK so far) and my friends told me cannot miss the vegetarian fare there and we went for it.. ahhhh how I miss it now!!
Still not used to seeing the Fung Bros separated.
Aries Taleon nah. David just went to NY.
+davidcktang is he going to be back?
andrew did come back to nyc like last week
its okay Andrew doing aight without him.
Happy Family is my jam!!! Thanks for finally featuring this place, also, in SGV there is Fine Garden Veggie, they have a dish called spicy fried rice noodle that is the 💣
Finally a non-meat video!! Keep em coming!
Yesss a vegetarian edition!! I love these kinds of videos!!
It's phyto estrogen in soy, which blocks estrogen receptors in you body, which is actually beneficial at reducing effects of estrogen. High correlation between high soy consumption and lower breast cancer risk.
Ask for the All-You-Can-Eat menu!
It's an all-you-can-ORDER menu of a bunch of dishes that are quick to make. It's not a buffet, everything's made to order.
Not quite as fancy as their main menu, but it's a great opportunity to try a lot of their items in one sitting.
Just remember to tip your waitstaff very well, because they work very, very hard if you're hungry.
Haven't seen crystal in Fungbros episode in forever! Awesome to see her again!
The BEST Asian Vegetarian restaurant is Sunflower in Northern Virginia!
You bros gotta try the Beyond Meat burgers and some other bomb vegan food!
Andrew be hitting Crystal with a thang and thang
Love this!! Would love to see more vegetarian 🌱
Also a lot of the “meats” are made with soy, gluten, other than tofu and mushrooms 🙂
Real talk though, Andrew, I'm getting old school Fung Bros vibes from this video, keep it up!
I've had vegetarian versions of Chinese dishes before such as the veggie beef medallions with broccoli and General Tsos chicken. They're usually made with soy or tempeh. Btw, those dishes looked scrumptious
Loved it tried my first veg Chinese food chicken drum sticks no meat in them and it tasted just like meat loved it
Love the video!!! An awesome place to check out is Wutai restaurant in Toronto Canada. They serve vegetarian/vegan dim sum!!!! It is super delish!
I recently just turned into a vegetarian; I love looove Chinese food so happy I came across this video. Plus this restaurant is near me! 😊
I love Vietnamese food. Do a vegetarian/vegan version. My fave is pho Chay, hue tua Chay, bun rieu Chay, all Chay.
Okay fung bros, so I've been following you guys for a while now and I've seen your videos on Hawaiian food and poke but if you want to try some other Pacific Islander/ Asian food you HAVE TO try prubechhu! It's a restaurant located in San Francisco that reflects on dishes that you would normally eat in Guam and that we all grew up learning how to cook! Give it a try! It's made with love and of course the Hafa Adai spirit! Shoots 🤙🏼
Yesss finally!! I've been craving for this episode for sooo long!
I love how you guys did this video! I am a pescatarian and no how hard it can be at times to go to a pan-asian restaurant and get what you want haha. I wish there was something like this in my area but, I now want to go to this place to eat! haha. You guys are awesome and I am so glad I have followed you as long as I have!
0:24 andrew bout to do the moves man
I'm a vegetarian and I love Chinese food. It's actually really good. Meat isn't NECESSARY, though it's a lot better with it, I'm sure.
my faves are DEFINITELY the hot and sour soup, the orange tofu and veggie fried rice!
The estrogen in soy isn't the same as other estrogen. But even then, everything in moderation!
I never knew they made whole full menus around the vegetarian theme, thats great, I know where I want to be treated out next special occasion. Honestly having so many mock meat substituted in with existing veggie components part of the original dish, just shows how nutritionally responsible, meticulous to technique, and progressive Chinese food is, compared how most other cuisines seem like an assassination attempt against better judgment you get coaxed into agreeing is perfectly rational for one person.
Fish can feel pain by the way and when you talr them out of water your drowning them
actually non bipedal fish can. bipedals involve mollusks, abalone, mussels clams and oysters. they are considered both vegetarian and pescatarian.
Andrew swooping in on Crystal and all the other girls when Davids away, I see you!
Soy has estrogen?
She literally has no idea what she's talking about.
It doesn't but it increases estrogen levels.
@@amritaarya2453 "Exposure to isoflavones (including at levels above typical Asian dietary intakes) has not been shown to affect either the concentrations of estrogen and testosterone
-lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic/dietary-factors/phytochemicals/soy-isoflavones#estrogenic-anti-estrogenic-activities
Educate yourself before you embarrass yourself
You really need to try mexican food like agua chiles 😍 and ceviche etc!!
A lot of vegetarian Chinese is also made with wheat gluten which is delicious sweet and sour fried up so good and textured very much like meat
Was i the only one who saw that fly out of his mouth?
1:38
happened at 3:06 as well lmfao
nope.
haha, that's crazy
RISSKÅLEN isn’t it saliva.
Hehe this is my favorite vegetarian/vegan restaurant by far! If you ever go back, I recommend trying the black bean sauce fish and the eggplant mushroom (:
more vegan videos, please :) so many restaurants in la to explore! doomie's, ramen hood, cena vegan
Go to Mississippi! There are Asians who have been there for yrs...They speak with a Southern accent, CrAzY! Their food is fused with foods with the south. There's a History lesson! Andrew Zimmerman did a show on it... I'd like to see the Fung Bros take on it!Pleeze!😋
this type of restaurant is one of my faves, cheap and healthy-ish, not afraid to bring heat, vegan chinese is under rated
Excess soy or actually excess of anything is usually bad for you. Nonetheless I appreciate how awesome this video is. People usually consider that vegetarian food doesn't have variety, but I beg to differ. There are many cuisines without meat, and they all have major nutritional components. The key is mindset. The rest is smooth sailing.
This looks so yummy 😋
It's been a long time since Crystal has been in one of your videos. The "Taiwanese FOB, sort of"?
Some of it may have been seitan (wheat gluten). It is not just soy and mushrooms.
You should try food from a Michigan Coney island! Its a treasure and a historical classic.
BART AND HIS MUM CAME HERE WITH HIS COUSIN A FEW VLOGS AGO!!
I loved all the dishes...
TRY OUT SOUTH INDIAN- Vegetarian diners food... in the US...
hey andrew this is the spot Bart and Geo goes to !! lol youre even sitting at the table they vlogged at xD i mean it could be the next table over but still! haha thanks for the video! because i wanted to try this place out but i dont recall them ever mentioning the locations name! thanks andrew and crystal!
I'm only here for Crystal
Finally a Chinese vegetarian restaurant. I'm a vegetarian and when I was visiting American I was unable to eat any Chinese as it was all non vegetarian.
Vegan and vegetarian people are much more healthier people. You can add nuts, fruits, leafy vegetables, vegetables, sprouts, lentils of different kind, banana flowers 🍌, banana plant trunk, seeds in your diet. Non vegetarian people have chloresterol, triglycerides and other problems
Soy/tofo is the only competitive for meat dishes..
Vegan life! ahahah yo I never knew there was such a thing as veg. chinese food. Maybe where I live there is not, I just order veggy options. I will have to look into this!
Love ur vids man
Lmaooo!! From the way their kitchen looks, i’m pretty sure they using meat without u guys knowing. 😂😂😂
david turning his bro into a work horse while he enjoys life
*Sneaks a chicken “I’m hungry..” SHES SO CUTE!!😂😂
I would love to try this one day. Looks delicious.
She is wrong about the Soy /estrogen connection. Soy has plant estrogens called phytoestrogens that hinder the body's natural estrogen from attaching to cells. For men and boys, the phytoestrogens in soy do not appear to have any effect on hormone levels and have not been shown to affect sexual development or fertility.
Plus if soy had those effects, Asian women's racks wouldn't be so small/flat.
Her Asian parents must be disappointed in her lack of scientific knowledge. She brought shame to her dojo.
noah wayne actually a lot of Asian cuisine isn’t soy based... especially Chinese diets.
There is also scientific documentation of a man who did indeed developed gynecomastia (basically man boobs) because of excessive intake of soy products.
How about u check ur facts before u start making claims about other people’s intelligence and being racist.
Noah Wayne You really need to get your facts clear.
Btw what's your source of info. Please read some real authentic research papers.
1:38 LOLOL he spits food onto the camera lens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1:47 I can relate.
Yo when's the Toronto vlog coming out?
1:39 egg drops out of andrews mouth
Try a bunch of gardein & morning star products!!
In India,Vegetarians don't eat egg(well atleast the traditionals dont). But some have started consuming egg and it's a common myth that egg is also a part of the vegetarian diet. I don't understand how something coming out of an animal can be considered vegetarian. Extremely strange.😂
The egg drop soup is made of tofu and cornstarch.
more crystal!
try going to different types of fancy salads places
More vegan food please!
It's about time, go Veggie
Where is this restaurant located? What country and city? It seems delicious
Bananas give a feeling that they don't belong anywhere
Omg i just went there a week ago! It was so good! Get the oyster mushrooms and quib
this was where bart went in his vlog
Yo guys, I saw you on Lace Up: the Ultimate Sneaker Challenge!!!!
Brutal no meat but this carnivore ain't complaining. My bros will hook me up afterwards.

You haven't lived until you've tried veg dongpo pork.
I used to hold my pencil like that too!
More plant please, so many choices
Im a flexitarian ! leaning towards 70-80 % veggie diet
how can I follow pretty Crystal?
That place looks really good!
i still remember that girl that said she was a liberal vegetarian e she eated meat
Vegetarian asian food is the best!
I hold my pencil and chopsticks the same way as crystal 😎😂
I love happy family. I go to the Rowland heights location though.
You guys should try nick's kitchen in san francisco. I am the son of the owner and it is a VEGAN PHILIPINO FOOD restraunt. Please come we just opened a month ago and this will help a lot!
Try vegan lobster 🦞. It's made from the lobster mushroom.
Yo Andrew go to din tai fung at the promenade in Santa Anita
If I dont eat meat soon, it might not be a happy family! lol
If you're in N.Y. again try cinnamon snail
We need this Vegetarian chinese food restaurant in CHINA .LOL 😂我们中国也需要这样的素食主义餐厅。哈哈
If it would be organic (no gmo) it would be perfect! Are you drinking 冷水 with 冰塊 😨 a no go on a Chinese dining table 😂😂😂 .... Wonder why you got plates instead of bowls!? I got very hungry watching this video 👍 I would love to see one on vegan dim sum (點心) .... Vegan Chinese food has a long tradition since the Tang 唐 Dynasty , many spiritual paths found their way to China, especially 長安 Chang'an, and they championed a vegan Diet (Milk and milk products were not popular in China) mostly based on the principle of Ahimsā 不害 (non violence). Since then the Chinese vegan cuisine developed and perfectionated until our days..... A pity that that kind of Chinese restaurants are rare ...
Finally veggie. 👍👍👍👍
I can do for awhile but eventually need some meat
it's actually made out of wheat gluten and maybe some soy it's really called seitan. I make my own meat 😉
crystal always so cute!
