We go back and spend 2 nights camped out.
I made major improvements to the camp and we eat wild game cooked on the woodstove.

And especially when you build something, firepit, wood storage, it's awesome. I don't mind the tent at all, nor the cot or the stove, that's all awesome, but the extra fire outside, that's what makes it feel like actual camping to me :) I'm glad Wolf comes back to base.

If you are going to do an improved base-camp....Grab a tube of croissant dough. Precook chicken breast. Wrap cold breast with deli sandwich ham, favorite sharp white cheese, then the dough. Bake till the dough is golden.

You have had a few really nice dogs but I must say Joe you have a gem in Wolfie.
I have enough problems taking care of myself but if I ever wanted a dog, Wolfie is the greatest in my eyes. I'm sure you feel the same.
He leaves you alone most of the time. Keeps to himself most of the time. He is still a pup and listens
the most of any dog his age. He is a great find. The best, you can swing an Ax and not worry about him being in the way.

Hey be careful with a scratch to the eye, the eyeball pics up infections super easily. Im a fruit farmer and amazingly 3 of my close neighbours have scratched their eyes while pruning, got infection in and lost all or most of their vision. When Im hiking I always carry a eye saline solution to give the eye a super flush to help prevent infection.

Hes got the makings of an awesome dog, the only thing i would add is be faster to reward him when he does what you ask, even if its just verbally with a good boy ( with some excitement in your voice) shepherds are smart but can be stubborn, that won't improve as he gets older, so if you get the obedience down now it will save you a LOT of work in the long run, only other thing you need to know is training with ( particularly ) a stubborn shepherd has to be daily and every day
