It's actually rock turning to gas, caused by the massive pressure/heat differential, because he's turned the density right down. Essentially it's a giant comet.

The reason that earth looks like that when it becomes the size of 14 jupiters is because earth is becoming a brown dwarf which is essentially a failed star.

Because of it’s size vs it’s mass, the earth is probably as dense as a feather under the surface.
Or less. Probably the density of a diffuse gas cloud in space despite still looking like a planet. Other objects just lunch through it.

@@jacobmiller3933 Comets are balls of ice. The tail is created because the comet is heated when it comes into the inner solar system, and the solar wind is blowing away pieces of it. The tail is always away from the sun, regardless of which way the comet is traveling.
In this case by reducing the density of the earth it became a ball of gas, probably removing the iron core that produces the magnetosphere that protects the planet from solar radiation and particles, so the solar wind was blowing away it's water and atmosphere.
OP is correct, it essentially became a comet.

My thought on why the Earth literally vaporized into a fireball is because the rotation was still 24 hours, and the speed of the rotation was nearing light speed and extreme heat levels were created from that near light speed.

He basically turned the earth into nothing but gas, able to stay in that shape because of the deep cold of space. As soon as it got a little warmed up, it turned into a nebula.
