- In this video I am trying out the expensive stationary tools, kindly sent to me by Makers Cabinet… The Høvel pencil sharpener and the Ferrule pencil extender.
*Also contains sketching :)
🌿I would also like to mention that the Høvel pencil sharpener is an exposed blade, so you must be careful when using. I wouldn’t recommend it for children.

I wouldn't get for the sharpener, but I'm itching to get the Ferrule!! Should I pull the trigger?
Well, I’ve been using my Ferrule (and the pencils) for almost a year, and I love it and use it all the time! So if you’re wanting to get it, I would say it’s worth it. :)
Did you notice any upgrade in control/precision of the pencil, when you use it with the ferrule, compared using it without it please?@@ameliaroseillustrations
Because it’s solid brass, it has a bit of a weight to it, and I don’t really know why, but that added weight feels so much nicer when drawing than just the pencil alone. It’s also great when the pencil is only small and becomes difficult to hold (because it’s an extender). Also the cedar pencils and erasers that come with it, are the best that I’ve used so far! The pencils are really easy to erase and don’t leave too many marks on the paper. 😊😊
Thank you very much! That's exactly what I had to know! I do sketch a lot, using the Kohinoor 5340, loaded with either Red Chalk o Dark Sepia, but you can only find good quality graphite on wooden pencils, so I missed that feel and performance of a heavy pencil! I guess I'll get a Ferrule asap! Thanks again!@@ameliaroseillustrations

I have strong doubts that it's worth it. unless it contains 5/10 spare blades. everything wears out. a bit like the "infinite" perpetua pencils. designers nowadays know well how to attract new buyers. with a steel potato peeler you save money. caran d ache made a pencil sharpener inspired by potato peelers for sharpening pastel pencils. why not use a sandpaper bracelet whenever you want to sharpen pencils. then in the evening it would be chic to go out with the same one, in the restaurant you could grate some cheese on the pasta. but designers don't get to that... they just want to sell. wait for the laser pencil sharpener ...
@@gp3798 😂😂 The sharpener comes with 10 blades and I’ve been using it regularly for 7 months and I haven’t had to change the blade yet.
A sandpaper, cheese grater bracelet does sound quite novel though, you should market that. XD
I didn't know someone could do such a poor job sharpening pencils. This was weird and upsetting to watch.
