In this video, patent attorney John Rizvi, The Patent Professor®, interviews Warren Tuttle.
Warren Tuttle has for many years overseen the Open Innovation product programs for several industry leading companies. Warren has initiated well over 100 product licensing agreements that have collectively generated over a billion dollars in retail sales. Warren is also a well-known advocate for inventor rights and the author of the book Inventor Confidential: The Honest Guide to Profitable Inventing.
Warren talks with The Patent Professor® about what inventors should know about approaching a company with an open innovation program -- meaning that the company accepts product idea submissions from individual inventors.
Warren also discusses scam artists who prey on inventors, including invention submission companies and coaches, and reveals red flags that should give product inventors pause before paying a company that claims they can help inventors license, sell, or otherwise commercialize their inventions.
Finally, Warren offers solid tips to inventors who want to license their invention.

Hi, I am thinking of a scenario
of agreement, when you have a
patent from USPTO, you sign a
    agreement with a licensee,
what is the normal terms for
the licensee to sell the goods
    outside USA? Which you and
    licensee both don't have a
    patent. thanks

I think he was, and in general coaches who take up-front fees with no guarantees. If their business model was based on taking a percentage of inventor's royalties they would be aligned with their interests and they would be honest about whether a hopeful inventor's idea had legs. You should read Warren's book, Inventor Confidential, it's a goldmine and he is very pro-inventor

@ACommonPlace you couldn't be more wrong. The reason why iR don't take a percentage is because they don't want to be associated with these scam promotion companies that usually do.
Does your idea have legs? Guess what, they teach you how to find that out.
You really can't say anything bad about iR as their students license products left and right every week.
IR teaches you how to save money and how to do this for yourself.
      This Warren guy, pathetic...

@@ACommonPlace Sounds like a book worth investing in to me. Thanks for clarifying.

Sounds like it but he's also likely biased. I'd be a cautious consumer here, their videos are free and very informative, good with sell sheets, submitting a provisional patent application online isn't practical, I'd just send it in via snail mail.
