Thank you so much for this trip down memory lane! Back when I was in middle school I was so invested in this series that I got the box collection. I love this series and the spin off, The Red Pyramid, which is centered around Egyptian mythology. I was also really into The Hunger Games so all these reading videos have been wonderful!
Aww you're welcome! I started The Kane Chronicles but by that point I was really kinda aging out of YA books like that so I never finished it. I would love to see them all turned into TV shows though, Rick's characters are so fun!

Reading ASMR is my absolute favorite!! The only thing that makes it better is thunderstorms in the background - that’s just peak coziness

I know this isn't really the main series this is based on, but my favorite book by far is The Son of Neptune. It really glorifies Percy for who he is and what his power means.

Have you read the Heroes of Olympus series? In my opinion I sort of liked it more than the Percy Jackson Series because it introduced more characters from the main gods like Zeus.

this brought back a long forgotten memory of my camp counselor reading this to me and my cabinmates before bed each night. i had already read the book but it was so special having it read to me and sharing the joy of it with others
My 6th grade teacher had us read The Lightning Thief and it's literally what made me love reading. I still have my original cooy from school. I finished the series on my own time and to this day I read all the time because of that book and that teacher.

I never got into Percy Jackson but as a kid my go to was Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic and The Circle Opens books that were my favorite magic series (was way more invested in them than HP). Honorable mention to Anne McCaffery's Dragonriders of Pern.
I really hope you make a series out of reading books. The pacing and emphasis of your speaking is just so insanely satisfying and hits the ears just right. Absolutely awesome

You know I've always loved Greek mythology too and wondered about books that came out which I either missed or perhaps was "too old" for so they were never on my radar. Sometimes you gotta see what the hype is about and after hearing this video a couple times I pulled the trigger and bought all the books in one go.
I love this series of videos and choice of books. Definitely looking forward to more of this.

This book brings back so many lovely memories
Just so know these are my favorite books, rick Riordan is my favorite author....but it's a young adult fiction, so reading it around 13 makes sense. The series is super long because he wrote a second series that ties into the original Percy jack books that series is called the heros of Olympus and there is a sequal series called the trials of appolo. So there is lots to read he also created an ancient Egyptian meets newer Era books called the Kane chronically and its referenced in the Norse mythology version of his stories called the mangus chase books so. I'm so glad you get to enjoy the book thanks for taking the time to do the intro and inform some people what it is and for taking the time to read this book and letting us experience with you. Look forward to many more.

Percy Jackson has to be my favourite children's book series ever! So funny, interesting and lovable bunch of characters and just a really good story althroughout! I have to get through heroes of Olympus though!

I support your unpopular opinion! I never really vibed with Harry Potter and way preferred the PJO series. It just clicked in a way nothing else had at the time, and it’s still one of my favorite series to this day

Another lovely and relaxing reading. Funny thing about Percy Jackson, my first (and only) interaction with the series was the movie. And, just like you said, it was so bad. And i don't mean "it was so bad it was good." It was just...bad! And because of that i always thought that the books were terrible too 😂😂

I’m 15 and I’ve recently started reading Percy Jackson and I’m obsessed. I’ve seen the series through tiktok and it seemed good but I was a bit like “they’re twelve when they start so maybe not it might be a bit young” but hearing you read and talk about this and then watching the first couple episodes of the new Tv show (I wanted to see more of what it was like before fully committing to the books) I decided I couldn’t resist any longer and just had to read them. So far I’ve read the first 3 books in 5 days, I love them so much! So thank you for helping me realise how much I should read them and for the great video!
I totally understand, I was a little younger than you but still felt I was 'too old' to enjoy a series about 12 year olds. But I was SO wrong!
