    We tried to do new White Lions with Warren DeMartini and Paul Gilbert and all these others, and no one wanted to do Vito. He was unlike anyone else, he had his own way of doing thing, and plus he was a great songwriter. Vitto had the most melodic and tasteful solos I've ever heard. Just jaw dropping beautiful, and technically tight as hell. What a genius.
    Such an understanding of peicing together melodies and notes that melt as fluid together gorgeously...what an artist. Surprisingly, alot of geniuses sometime shy away from the spotlight...he deserves this recognition.
    The solo of "wait" is pure genius... The lady of the valley is phenomenal. Little fighter is awesome too. But I've never heard a more beautiful song than "When the children cry."
    His solos just sing incredibly by themselves but fit in so effortlessly snug into each song. A rare Artist indeed. The real kind...

    Vito Bratta =class act musician with a lot of integrity. To walk away from a business that made millions off of his guitar work, That wanted to squeeze every note out of him and Mr Tramp And then discard them for the next so called big thing. Hey it might have been easy for Vito to do it, considering all the great guitar notes and emotions he recorded for the world to treasure and relive with the press of a play button. Walking away from fans that made a personal connection to his music must still be hard for Vito at times. But in his mind are hundreds of concerts that he saw the reaction of fans to his guitar playing. His guitar notes being recorded forever to be enjoyed forever should be enough comfort that he made the right choice at the right time f his life for the right reasons. Vito Bratta has his own unique style that will always be remembered as original and inspiring.

      Yeah, Eddie Trunk is kind of a bad interviewer (if you compare him to any music journalist). His take on media is to be a fan..he is like a fan talking to his idols and that is his style. But again, a fan that talks too much and at the same time promotes himself :)

      Paco Chuquiure I LOVE Eddie, just once in a while he cuts them off when they are starting to get into something deep.....that's the only thing I notice once in a while.....but part of me can tell Eddies a HUGE fan too, and I like that about him. He's 50 years old, bout my own age, and he still gets like a kid meeting his music heroes....I just prefer eddie to anyone else

      Tamara Bowers For sure. I got to talk to Dan on the phone years ago when I was in the Navy. (99' I think). Michael Nitro called him and we did a 3-way call. Cool dude & really humble. I grilled him on the "secret" to his sound and he kept saying it was due to the EV speakers he used, but I suspect there was an effect in there somewhere. I sent him some Navy shirts and a bootleg video of a live show that Icon did in Albuquerque.

    I Remember from the summer of 1987, I was 20 yrs old and of course the hair was long, driving a nice sports car, starting to enjoy life and pick my ways of direction and paths I wanted to travel, music always had and still does have an amazing influence on who I am and the place in mind that I make decisions from. That time in 87, I walked into the local record store looking for something, anything that might catch my eye and thumbing through new releases, old releases, picking and judging characteristics of album covers. I remember hap-heartedly having conversation with the store manager who I had known for quite some time of going to his place for so long came across the White Lion "Pride" release. Glanced at the song selection and thinking in my mind what this could be due to the fact I had never heard of them before. Loved the album cover and then put it down. Moved about the store again and went back to that album 3 times and there was something drawing me to the song track "Wait". Now you have to keep in mind, I NEVER had a clue who this was nor did I even know exactly what music this could have been. I bought the tape, put the stereo up and started bouncing through the selections. I must admit, I didn't like it. It had some good riffs but the singer just didn't appeal to what I was wanting. He was hard to understand, his words and lyrics just seemed to blend and mutter and it just didn't seem like I wanted to keep this. The day went on and I was out at the Lakefront with my muscle car friends and one of the songs from the tape had just been on the radio. Knowing it sounded familiar, I couldn't place it so I kept listening because now it was interesting to know who this was. Now, don't forget, I had just bought this album about 4hrs before but was only skipping through the play list so I really didn't LISTEN to the songs. When the song ended, the radio station did not mention who they were, they just went onto the next song. I never gave it a second thought. The band played again about 2hrs later on another radio station and now I was glued to the speaker because I wanted to know who this was and I was REALLY into the song because it was speaking of real life stuff. This time the station announced "This is the new single "Wait" off the Pride LP for White Lion" and it hit me like a ton of bricks because this time I was able to hear the guitar solo and really pay attention to the music and the lyrics , then realized "MORON, you have this tape in your car!!!" At this point instead of wanting to exchange the tape, I listened to each song completely and it was at that point I became of HUGE fan because of Vito's playing style which was very familiar to me being a Van Halen fan. Next day I went back to the store and bought White Lion's previous recording and have been a fan of Vito ever since. Here we are in 2020 and I'm still a fan. Those old White Lion songs mean something and they hit you in the heart. Bands today don't do that. Its all about power chords and stale strumming. The 80's was the music decade and White Lion lead by Vito's amazing guitar playing has a huge part in that. I miss it and if there is anyone who says they don't, they are lying. God Bless you Vito, hope to see you again soon.

    Just come across this interview and just want to say that i went to see Motley Crue Skid Row and White Lion at Birmingham NEC. Motley Crue the 'headline' act were shite, in fact the best bit was when Vince Neil stormed off stage because someone threw a bottle at him, then when he came back wanted to meet whoever it was back stage!! Anyway i digress, Skid Row were ok, but White Lion were amazing. One of the best bands i have seen live

    Vito is a smart man, probably saw the writing on the wall in the early nineties and checked out. Nobody cared about his genre of music from 1991 onward and he's one of the few Platinum artists from that era who never followed it up with a piece of garbage album.... His entire body of work is stellar, granted only 4 albums but no filler

    Vito seems like a classy guy. One can tell he has some hurt feelings, as he has a right to since he really poured his heart and soul into a band when he was a very young man still, and no one thinks lesser of him. He avoids any cheap shots of vindictiveness of others (Wow EVH and Paul Stanley take a lesson from Vitto - you 2 guys who have been SO blessed yet who never stop with their negative words about others), some who may have, or have not screwed him over or taken $ from his family (I do not know....just guessing). But a classy guy, but real at the same time. Has his priorities straight and fans like us hope to hear him again.

    Vito is awesome and I hope that he can do the the same thing that Jake E. Lee has done. Jake's new album, at least as far as his guitar-playing is concerned, is excellent. It is great to have Jake back and would love to have some sort of quality project from Vito as well on the horizon.

    • @davidc6304
      @davidc6304 Před 10 lety

      Well, I based my opinion on Lee's studio album with Red Dragon Cartel, which we all know you can clean up and fix whatever in the studio. Haven't heard or seen him live since the comeback. I'm a guitar player myself. I am sure Mr. Lee is better than me still as I am not famous and have little recorded output... save for 6 songs I did at a home studio that aren't hard rock or heavy metal anyway. So, they don't demand the technical proficiency that metal/hard rock does. But I give Jake E. Lee respect for still being I am sure on the upper end of guitar talent, even if his technical prowess is no longer in top shape. Anyhow, regarding Vito...He was amazing in the 80's and early 90's and I guess his hand/wrist has indeed been injured since. I hope he can rehabilitate it and come back with something professional and well-worth the wait. Nylon string classical guitars can be outfitted with pickups and mic'ed as well... sure, it wouldn't be what we were used to hearing from him in the past, but would be somethin'. So, here's hopin'.
