    I've been using releasable cable ties to just mount the selfie stick only various parts of my frame. Even tying it on the Chain stays backwards or at an angle secured on both the chain stay and seat stay (obviously on the non drive side), plenty of options. To make it grip the frame a bit better I added some rubber between the frame and the selfie stick also protects my frame

    Thank you Patrick for this video as a fellow Cyclist, I am thinking of buying the Insta360 ONE X2 and was thinking the Bike Bundle should do it, however I love that Motorcycle Mount its solid which I need, so I think I will go for the Motorcycle Bundle as it will stay on the stem or seat post fixed. I have a GoPro which remains on my Chest most of the time so that covers the front angle instead of me constantly stopping and moving mounts around. I also love that free style mode holding the selfie stick high up, thus it looks like a drone shot. Brilliant video Patrick, really helped me out here.

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Před 2 lety

      Hey Stephan! Battery in general is the only thing that I don’t really like in this camera, just because the battery is pretty bulky. A GoPro you can have multiple batteries and it’s just a little rectangle, in this case a second battery is gonna be around 2-3x the size of a GoPro battery. But regarding battery life, for general day to day use like film something on a ride, film at the beach, it actually lasts pretty long. I usually get thru a whole day. If I’m filming a lot on the bike, like 3-4 minutes segments, the battery will drain kind of fast but not dramatically. Overall I’m pretty satisfied with the battery performance

    I just got the one rs and I'm looking to mount it vertically using a small mount on either my handlebar or stem.
    My noob question is, which way should I point the lens? If forward, it sees more(?) Or zero stitch issues to the front, but more surface area for the wind. But if the lens is facing to the sides, it's a little more aero than the other way 😂 but if I'm on the wheel of someone, would it stitch them incorrectly? Or does it even matter?

      I think it’s a great choice 👌 and you can also set it up in many different angles, to the side and more; only thing to think about is the little bit of extra weight, but in my opinion, the weight is worth it because you have such a more versatile mount 👍

    Did you use GoPro chest mount to attached Insta360?

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Před 2 lety +2

      Yea, but actually another way to do it is just slide the Insta360 with the pole attached, between your hr strap and your chest. And voila, it fits perfect like a chest mount (almost)

    Are your handlebars carbon? Do you think that that motorcycle mount can destroy the handlebar if you clamp it down too tight?

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Před 3 měsíci

      Mine are aluminum and yes, be careful, you can definitely destroy carbon bars if you clamp down too tight

    Fun tech. But I find the amount of distortion in the clips too distracting…especially elongated limbs. Loving the GoPro with magnetic mounts to quickly swap placements on bike.

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Před rokem

      You can choose the amount of distortion from the app - it can be zero or a higher value - I personally like a bit of distortion because i liked the late Ty evans skate films that were filmed on ultra 16:8 fisheye that had a similar effect to what the insta does

    I tried using the motorcycle mount with the selfie stick but the base of the selfie stick unscrewed itself after a short time.
    I mean the actual base of the selfie stick, not that it unscrewed from the motorcycle mount.
    How did you stop that?

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Před rokem

      Oh no! Honestly I don’t know 🤷‍♂️, it never happened to me; I would change selfie stick

      @@PatrickDelorenzi Thanks. I've emailed their support now. They were quite quick at getting back and asked for pictures and to describe how I've used it. I've been fully transparent with them as I thought maybe I'm not using it for what it was made for (the rear computer game style shot). If they confirm it's a fault with my stick and I can go ahead filming all sorts of shots when I get the new one then I'll be very happy.

    Have you felt the quality doesn't look good compared to go pro?

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Před rokem

      The quality on 360 vid is lower because 5.7k is spread out on a 360 degree video - the more the video is zoomed out, the higher the quality because it retains more pixels in the image. 4K quality in single lense mode is comparable to 4K on the GoPro though I believe

      @@PatrickDelorenzi Thanks for reply. I just wonder how does the video look like in that case. How much of the field of view of the camera is covered by the body and hands? And by the way, how good does it work in low light conditions (at night etc.)?

    Battery life? My average ride is 2 hours. Sometimes I do 4 to 6 hours. All these cameras shut off after 1 hour.

    Thanks for the video. The camera is great for 360 work, but the image quality is just terrible, very small dynamic range, shadows are just black, weird oversaturated colours etc. 😔 My 5 year old phone has better image.
