Give the guy props for keeping it upright on that unpaved shoulder. He hit it at 45 and exited at 30. Instantaneous reaction to go right instead of left or try to brake down, which wouldn't have worked. Wonder if he has a lot of dirt experience. On the other hand, he musta been really snoozing before that. His playmate stopped with brisk braking but no drama.

I was riding the River road on the Texas-Mexico border when an oncoming bike gave me the hand-pressing-down sign. It's a narrow twisty road, I slowed curious what was coming up. Around the next curve was a large bull blocking most of the road. He seemed pretty chill so I eased the bike into gear and passed him as nonchalantly as possible. Grateful I had warning!

There is huge value in watching these pov videos and breakdowns because they allow you to experience the incidents vicariously and learn lessons without suffering the consequences. Studies have shown that mental rehearsal of how you would react to various sudden crisis is just as effective in creating mental file folders for your brain to access in the event of a real sudden emergency. When you don't have these files your brain shuffles through your previous experiences searching for what to do, hence your life "flashing before your eyes." This is great stuff to sponge up. Thanks, Dan!

The guy in the POV should not even think about riding like this until he understands how to use the front brake because I would be willing to bet he only used the rear to slow down. If he engaged in proper emergency braking procedure the moment the cars ahead popped out of the curve, I believe he would have been able to stop comfortably in the space he had left.

i know a guy that when he just got his A1 license, went abroad to the mountains, on a 390cc ktm Duke (definitely not A1 license bike) and nearly killed himself in an accident. broke alot of bones and had bad injuries...
    inexperience and stupidity kills motorcyclists.

He put a lot of people in danger by not paying attention to road signs . I believe guys who ride sport bikes imagine themselves racing in the superbike .

No, its gonna leave a bloody smear on the road when you crash.

The dude was just afraid to brake. He needs to practise braking. He took gradual braking too far. That's my 2 cents on this.

If you're gonna ride like a fool like that, at least make sure you know how to trail break. If he was trail breaking he would have had a much better time at stopping sooner, as well as paying attention to the signs

In my jurisdiction this action would have resulted in hundreds of dollars in fines, a probable court appearance for dangerous driving and a possible beating from the construction workers for the reckless disregard to their safety. This is why all riders get negatively painted by the same brush by the non-riding public. Unacceptable behaviour.

  • @jamesrindley6215

Rider had very poor braking technique. He also must have scared the crap out of his buddy and was very lucky the other guy didn't take to the right otherwise it'd have been a gruesome pile up. Hope he's learned something from it. Like, how many warning signs would it take to make this guy ease off the gas?

  • @prashantkrishnankutty6038

Good he did not applier brakes when he was on the grass or he would have dumped the bike
