Anybody who has ridden with a passenger that leans independently knows how dangerous that can be. Any of you passengers out there that reads this, stay aligned with your pilot, you are shifting the center of gravity and can effect a very dangerous outcome.
So glad to read your comment! You’re 100% correct but perhaps when she says she “leans” she’s just following through with the rider? My tip to people wanting to be a good passenger is to keep your helmet inline with the riders helmet and it’s the easiest instruction to follow to stop people from excessive leaning for bikes that have raised/spaced passenger seats. Technically you’re not independently leaning but you do follow through with the rider and that’s what you want. if I’m at 130° and the passenger remains 90° when you correct yourself the passenger becomes 50° This women is a small build so thats probably why she’s giving misleading information, she herself doesn’t understand that if others weigh equal to, or more than the main rider it will become problematic when they over lean.
I re watched and her body is definitely further out, her passenger technique is terrible 😅 disregard me defending her. She is wrong. You are by all means right by pulling her up on her comment! My apologies.
Having an experienced MX/enduro rider as a backpack may be terrible for road riders because we never lean, always keeping body perfectly straight even when the handlebar touches the ground.
And as a rider you should not go too deep depending on your passenger. Everyone has their limit and *will* lean the other way if they get scared. That's on you.
@@Awesummzzz so true buddy, I just noticed the rider was wearing a protective vest and I was looking at a full body piece under armour aliexpress as it rains lot here and often my trousers are not dry in the morning haha, also that pony tail-got to be careful with that red head pony tail haha
Man, everytime i see someone not wearing protective gear all i can think about is the one EMS comment i saw on CZcams who said "I've seen breasts sandbelted off by the pavement."
I'm my dads backpack and we love riding together😂 Once we rode to a city 3 hours away because they had a Military Flight Day. Half the roads were closed and no one knew where the bikers entrance were(cars and bikes had different). We ended up riding around for another two hours and we met some friends along the way. We followed a group and at the end we didn't even care about traffic rules and we rode on the sidewalk, the bike lane, wrong side of the road, between the car queues and the road rails. It was pretty fun. We missed the first half of the day and lunch, but luckily we were just in time to see the Boeing land.

I sometimes ride as backoack with my father. I did not know I had to lean in corners, I was scared it was gonna fall over or something, I always leaned the opposite way. Glad that now i know im not supposed to do thst 😂
I was a natural passenger at riding with someone. I just knew how to ride. My husband off the bat told me he loved my ways on a bike. But I have such great stories. So my husband and I was riding along and we heard a bolt fall off the bike. We were trying to figure out what it was in the middle of the ride. Well it turned out it was something that had to with the bike being in idle. So if we came to a stop and the motorcycle was in idle it would just putter out. Something with switching gears. So he had to ride the motorcycle out and kick start it so it will turn on and go. Well I was sitting in back holding onto to strap with my right hand because we knew once it kicked on he had to floor it. Hahahaha so the green left arrow turned on and so he walked the bike out in the middle of the intersection as fast as he could and then switched the engine on quickly and floored it and it was so fast I flew back like I was riding a freakin bull with my left arm swinging over my head and my right hand gripping the leather strap and I can’t even imagine what everyone thought but I just busted out laughing. When we got to our buddies shop to fix it and told him he was just floored at how I was able to grip without falling off. Good times 😂😂😂😂
I think one of the best compliments I got was when I went on a first date with a guy and was his backpack and when we got to our destination he complimented me on how well I could handle the corners 😂
Yeah but we love it when it's someone we love. It drives us crazy at first than we all get use to it and want it to happen bc it shows us that you love us and love's jokes and joking around.

Rule #1 as a passenger on a bike. You are a rock, you do not move, you do not lean, you DO NOT put your feet down. You are as immobile as stone, because if you shift your weight when the driver is not expecting it, you ARE going to fall
Was on Hwy 8 (SD), had wife on back. I had a backpack on between us. Going over a bridge, winds so strong we were at a 45deg and pushed us to the next lane. My wife starts screaming and pounding on me, Ya "WTF", pulled over after bridge. She said..."the winds were so strong, they unzipped your pack and everything in it, flew off over the bridge!". Now that I think about it, I don't think my bike can be turned off unless in Neutral
having somone as a bacpack and them leaning too helps a lot with cornering + that rear wheel has a lot more traction
Most people don't know how to lean so they just make things much harder they don't lean enough or lean to much then you have to compensate
@@Dgafsranger most people but when u ride with somone who also rides they will also lean with you maybe somtimes a litle too much yea
