Paul does exactly the reverse and weaves each and every point of the story in such a fascinating web you just can't bail out. You have to know what happens no matter how long it takes!!!! However, there are many youtubers that are long winded before going to the point..and i find it annoying. Even Mr Ballen ( "horror" story )..has become unbearable for me. It's too detailed and long. I stopped watching it.

I did OK when I moved from UK to Hungary and needed a car. I went to the local GM dealer and bought a Chevrolet Spark that was just under 4 years old. It has proved to be the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned and I still have it, 11 years later. It does look pretty rough by now but is still quite solid with not too much rust
I bought a Geely Coolray as soon as I got here in early 2020.. No regrets, we love this car !

He could have waited for rainy season and further assessed his options and accumulated finances. There are extremely dark clouds on the horizon in 2024. Much worse than 2020 coming.

Congratulations, Paul. It's a great looking car and Happy Anniversary! You were wise to buy the car with cash and with the timing of the exchange rate advantage. I also am a big fan of Toyota quality. I hope I can afford whatever is the equivalent of a Rav4 hybrid or a Prius if we move there. It seems like new car prices there are inflated, even from US standards(!), but the $11,545 US you paid seems like a good price. In any case, have a very happy New Year holiday and hopefully we'll see you in March or April of next year.

Another great vlog Old Dog! I can see the rationale of having a scooter initially: affordable, easy to drive/park, and a real advantage if there's traffic. However, I've heard many stories about driving in PH.....its the wild west in a lot of cases and that comes with risks. You'll definitely be safer in a car and the protection from the elements will be a blessing when there's things to do on a rainy day. Looking forward to road trip adventures in 2023. I hope you and Baby Mae had a great Christmas and cheers to you both for a happy New Year.

The wigo is made by Daihatsu in Indonesia, but it's still a great little car, love mine.
@@piratecovephilippines4711 Daihatsu has been around a long time. Yet I have never seen a dealership with their name own on it 🤔. But I don't get out much these days either. They seem to build a lot of engines for other companies products.

I love your sense of humor about all the little nuances that happened while buying your car. I know your pain when it comes to dealerships. I had a specific thing in mind when I went out to buy my first brand-new vehicle. I even started telling the salespeople that if they even said the word "automatic" I would leave. I ended up exhausting over 100 dealerships in a 300 KM radius of the city I live in to find a dealership that didn't have SALESPEOPLE, they only had PURCHASING ASSISTANTS. The difference is that a salesperson says "Look at what we have on the lot" and the Purchasing assistant asks "What would you like in your vehicle?"
Sadly because of health issues, I haven't driven in almost 15 years, but I'll never forget how vast the difference is between the two types of vehicle dealers.
May you have many happy miles, and many happy memories with your new car. I hope that the new year brings you blessings that you can't even imagine right now.

Paul congratulations. A very wise decision. I have owned Toyotas since 1984 and not once did I have any mechanical issues with them. Starting with a Tercel, moved to the Camry, Avalon and we are now on our second Lexus. Best of luck to you both in the new year.

Words of wisdom Old Dog. I’m accustomed to maneuvering my Big Ol’ Harley Davidson Road King around Miami, Key West and Daytona Beach, Florida. That’s an 800 pound bike! But regardless of all my riding experience, I wouldn’t take a chance on a scooter over there.I would opt for a car.Even an old jalopy. AtLeast there’s a roof to keep you dry and away from the rain. Congratulations on the new car. I've had a number of Toyota's. My first was a Corolla, then a Camry, another Corolla and currently we have a Sienna and a Tacoma. I've had very few problems with them and the few times I have had problems, I apparently was annoying enough that they covered most of the repair. Oddest thing I ever had happen was a melted hatch handle on the rear of the Sienna. Toyota didn't was to replace it but after I showed them a number of messages online where people complained of the same problem they agreed to partially cover it. Overall good experiences with the Toyota brand. Next, I'm considering a plug-in hybrid but will wait until they have more models with that capability. I'll end this by wishing you a belated Merry Christmas, congratulations on the new car, and a Happy New Year.
