      ***** Wow. Ive Never Been In The Suburbs Part Of Toronto But Ive Been Downtown Toronto For My Birthday. And I Live In The US in Michigan In a Town called Sterling Heights. And There is All Bunch Of Whelen WPS 3016s There. There Is One At Metro Parkway And Schenor And Another One A Block Away From Carleton Middle School. There Is Another One Near By My House Somewhere Around The Chrysler Auto Plant, But I've Never really Seen It Yet

      +plush &vacuum fan 224 Yeah they're all over the place the problem with CLM sirens is that out of the nearly 1.2 million contracted to production, only about 15-25% actually still work. Back in the 90's the Canadian government stopped the upkeep on the civil defense system, primarily the warning systems and broadcast systems, most of the radar stations have been torn down and or are abandoned, NORAD upkeep in Canada has reduced since 1992. One of my friends uncles worked at CLM back in the day when their main production facility was located in Scarborough Ontario, he has tons of parts and a couple sirens in a barn on his farm.

      ***** Cool. Ive Also Been Up To London, Ontario And I Usually Go Up There Every Month Or 2 To Visit My Dad For The Weekend Or So. Every Time I Have been There, I Have Never Seen a Siren. But In Dearborn, Michigan, They Used To Have Whelen WPS 2740s For Snow Sirens Up there, But They Were Replaced By Federal Signal 2001 Sirens

      +EPIC CREAKY no it is 10/12

    • @childishtombino1275
      @childishtombino1275 Před 8 lety +3

      +EPIC CREAKY yeah ok it does have 4 and 12 ports but it hasn't got four fins- it has 10/12 fins but the horn design doesn't go round all the 10 ports so they blocked te other 6 ports and put the horn on the open four facing up. Which is also why the 10 finned side is fainter than the 12 port side

      Well, as far as these sirens are, they used to be all over the place where I grew up in Edmonton, and they did a few tests when I was young, I think at the beginning of the month, but at the time I guess they needed to be tested full speed, they did sound a bit creepy from a distance! :)

    @CraigBaker96837 Před 10 lety +2

    If there is one thing you never do, it is this. NEVER film a siren within 100 feet of it. The sound will distort badly like in this video. Ether that or stuff some towels around the ports to dampen the sound.
