- He usually doesn't like a nice quiet walk. So we do this sometimes. It's great exercise and as long as you keep it to a shorter time. Since we're moving on asphalt I limit these to shorter sprints so he doesn't get any injuries from it. If only I had off-road skates, that would be perfect!

I wanna try this with my dog so bad but his pray drive is high. He’ll go after anything that moves in the bushes. Jumps like a fox and pounces. He’s a border collie so maybe smart enough to learn but seems a little suicidal to try and expect him to know what to do
Start slow, maybe start on a bike just to test how he reacts. At least you'll have a bit more control.
@@UnderFortyYards good tip. And I’ve got thousands of hours on bikes. And haven’t bladded in 25 years.. I thought I’d pick it right back up but when I put them on in the store it felt like the first time. Im sure it’ll come back but adding a dog in the mix is not a good idea. After I get good again…
I'm going through same with my border collie
To make the dog stop, im screwed
My rottweiler is pulling with insane speed and strenght, i am afraid i cant stop him running with roller Skates
I'd be nervous with a big dog too. I've tried this with my mini Schnauzer and that's about as intense as I'd like to get :P As long as your dog listens to you when you say stop/slow, maybe it could work in an area with a long road and few cars/people, ie. on a paved country road or a park late at night.
Definitely train the dog before getting in the skates.
nize 07 Rottweiler isn’t fast for a dog they are ussauly the slower dogs
my rottie runs 50kmh easy..i tried it .
nize 07 that impossible even the faster dog can’t do that much
Idk why I have to stare at these swinging balls of him ...!!
GREAT DOG AND GREAT OWNER BTW
I'm 49'and I've never been adept enough on blades me alone. I'm doing it on the oaved parts of the backyard now . I hope I survive. The poster of this video is a showboater haha
Well I'm just behind you, 48. I will admit I haven't done this in the past few years. It can be a bit tricky but having a decent dog helps!
Hey, amazing video
Sweet! Maybe try getting him a bikejouring harness instead so his shoulders are being restricted
Yes those harnesses are much better than this cheap one.
Yeah the across the front harness can do some serious damage
That pavement is so intimidating!
It can end badly for sure!
I have a Vizsla and was thinking about doing this as exercise for him but I’ve never rollerbladed lol
You could both learn,it's fun.
I have a visla and we do this often 😁
But sometimes she is running and breaks to poop hahaha
Energizer Bunny!!
He's a mover! Even at 5 years old still has great stamina.
Any tips to brake when dog is running fast?!
That's the tricky part. I count on luck.
massimo collu Grab onto a nearby tree. That’s how I started, before I learned to use my brakes. Alternatively, if there are no trees/fences/road signs you can grab onto, but if there is enough space, you can use your momentum to skate in a circle or curve, and pull the dog with you. It’s not exactly stopping, but it will prevent the dog from going where it shouldn’t.
when my dog is running fast is just turn and she slows down that's just what I do you can try it see is it works
Hello! Do you mind me asking what kind/brand of harness you're using for your dog?
Robin D The harness was just an inexpensive department store variety.
I would not recommend that harness for any joring type activity. Please invest in a proper harness to prevent injury to your dog.
I’d always recommend an x-back harness or a harness made for digs to pull safely(like a front range or similar design).
I cannot wait till our Weimaraner arrives
Weims are great dogs, good luck!
Good Magyar dog right there
Thanks!

That Hungarian pup is part Husky!!!!
Give him a fur coat and me a sled and we could fool a few!
That dude who made the snippy comment to you about training your dog properly probably has some criticisms about your conditioning program!!!
There's no doubt, I'm sure he'll show up sooner or later. Gotta love those guys.
Some people just need to feel authoritative. I told him he was an ass for the hell of it. Best regards.
Saw a comment of yours on upland boots. Recommendations??
damn maybe i need a dog eh
I just lost a dog :(
So sorry to hear that.
Please buy good harness. These is so bad to dog.
Only if he's pulling ,can't be easier when on wheels for him and I. But yes there are much better harnesses out there.
