Bas rutten has also said that in a situation where it hasn't turned physical but he thinks it is coming he keeps his hands up in a non threatening way. It almost looks like he is listening to the person with one hand on his chin and that elbow resting on the opposite wrist. That was prolly a horrible descripition but look it up
