    i always laugh at people shaking their bikes to mix the gas , i laugh by myself when i'm shaking mine to mix gas , i think the 2stroke community is adding laughter to the hearts of other drivers

    Baby bottles are excellent measuring tools. A small 4oz 99¢ baby bottle will do the trick and never leak. Preferably plastic because they’ll never break if they fall. They have the units of measurement on its side for accurate pours. Plus they’re small enough to carry in the mopeds under seat storage with space for your wallet, keys, & phone.

    A 50cc syringe measures accurately and is easy to carry and dispense. 77 cc to 1 gallon gas for 50:1 or 88 cc to 1 gallon gas for 40:1.

    How do I know if my Yamaha Zuma has a oil fuel injection thing?? My scooter is bogging down sometimes and I’ve been using regular gas. I was thinking about mixing the two-stroke oil in the gas tank because it’s a old scooter, and I literally got this thing running from nothing

    I just got a new engine DR Evolution 50cc air cooled for my scooter and replaced everything in the transmission.
    The connecting rod bearing somehow fell apart and made it into the chamber destroying the engine.
    This is a Peugeot Speedfight II and it was the original engine with about 15.000kilometers, I've been told it was just too old and that's why that happened not because it didn't get enough or any oil cause apparently the autolube works or at least its consuming oil from the oil tank and there is no oil leakage sign anywhere so it must go into the engine I guess. I've been told that through the break in period which is 500km which I've been through already, add an extra 10-20ml oil to the fuel tank. I actually added 40ml and recently after 400km 60ml because I was trying out the limits of the new engine.
    My question is, would it harm the scooter if I keep adding extra oil to the fuel? What would be the limitations for that? I know the 50:1 ratio, I have a 7l fuel tank so if I were to premix oil with fuel I should add 120ml which I guess would be too much oil of course and the mixture would be too lean making the engine hotter and thus causing an engine seize no matter the extra oil. But like would 60-80ml extra oil do any damage or would it even do any good in the first place or its not even necessary at all to add even a small amount of extra oil to the fuel if the oil pump works in theory?
    I'd be glad if someone could help cause I'm more of a car guy, I just got this scooter to have some fun with it at places where my car can't go, I know how the 2t engine works and the premix would be also simple solution I know. I'm not really familiar with the autolube system but I guess the engineers designing these scooters and whoever came up with this autolube system must know what they are doing and how this system is supposed to work. So I wouldn't wanna just go with the "disconnect the autolube and mix it on your own" what most people say on forums.

    friend please answer my question. I have a gasoline bike and I don't know how much to put it on. I bought the supreme 5w-30 gasoline
    is it good for mixing with gasoline?

      For a gasoline engine you dont need to ad oil to the fuel tank.

    How is 'air cooled engine' 2 stroke oil and 'liquid cooled engine' 2 stroke oil different???

    • @albo3232
      @albo3232 Před 6 lety +3

      I believe the air cooled two stroke oil is thicker and can stand up to heat better - because air cooled engines run a lot hotter and faster (in rpm) than water cooled engines

    great fun video! takes the nerves out of mixing! I thought 2 stroke motors were banned in the USA?

    • @TomosAmerica
      @TomosAmerica  Před 6 lety +1

      Nope, two stroke motors are alive and well here in the U.S. You'll find them on mopeds and many dirt bikes - and you're also likely to find them on any gas-powered weed wacker or lawn mower! Perhaps you were thinking of engines that run on leaded gas? Engines that require leaded gas are pretty close to gone from American automobiles - such engines are illegal for road vehicles (though they ARE still permitted for applications like boats, planes, and race cars).

    Why turn off your petcock when refueling? I heard put your petcock in reserve when refueling? Any damage if left on "On" or "Reserve" when refueling?

    • @TomosAmerica
      @TomosAmerica  Před 6 lety

      Sudden change in pressure while fueling could surge gas past the float needle and into the float bowl. Too much and it could cause flooding. Turning the Petcock off will avoid any of this.

    • @MisterSal9895
      @MisterSal9895 Před 6 lety +1

      Oh wow! I see. What If one is riding their moped going from point A to point B, then half way to destination the rider becomes worried about the remaining gas then switches the petcock from "On" to "Reserve" while the moped is turned on. Is this okay to do?

    • @TheEwaffle
      @TheEwaffle Před 6 lety +2

      You shouldn't be switching to reserve until the moped is out of gas in "On" mode. If you do, you won't know how much fuel is left in the tank and may run out unexpectedly.

    • @MisterSal9895
      @MisterSal9895 Před 6 lety

      But won't it damage the engine if one keeps running out of gas in "On" mode?

    • @TheEwaffle
      @TheEwaffle Před 6 lety +2

      Nah, it wont be running lean for long enough to do any damage. I recommend Tomos americas video on the petcock, incase you have not watched it.
