People are gonna get entertainment no matter what. If the prices keep going up, lots of people will turn to piracy.
The hype maybe never has good since return of the Jedi, but for potential, it was never higher than prior to The Force Awakens, the amount of money that movie made was a sign of the amount of fans ready to hop on board for where Disney was going to take it, ha nothing to do with the actual story or how well it was made. they set all of that on fire tossing out all of Georges plans and going into it without a plan of their own. INSANE

Agree. Ki-Adi-Mundi's birthday was not cannon... and even if it was, WHO GIVES A F?! KotoR would be epic as a trilogy.
It was canon in some CD booklet thing. So pretty flimsy, sure, but it was technically there. Not a huge deal to change it.
@@alexp601 But Disney invalidated all of the EU, right? I would think a CD booklet would have been part of that massive wipe of the EU as "legends." Either way, I'm not losing sleep over Ki Adi Mundi, LOL.
@@user-ep2nf2nx1s It was a Phantom Menace booklet thingy, and that film is definitely not legends or EU. But yeah, it's really not a big deal like some people are making it out to be.
I agree with John in every single thing here. Kotor can be an epic new 9 film series with classic SW style. But don’t make KotoR an exact replica of the game. Borrow the elements and main characters and tell the cinematic adventure. Fill in gaps with a TV show in between.

This. Star Wars shows feel very made for TV with cosplay extras. Nothing feels lived in, outside of Andor.

Stop making them extra long films chopped up into short episodes. They're treating these properties like they're cheap student films that no one will watch. They should be making House of the Dragon or Last of Us quality shows, but instead the overall products are just a complete mess.

You guys made mention of the old short lived early 80s ABC tv series Automan. I was in elementary school when that was airing and watched its cheesy weekly goodness almost religiously. Lol! One thing that has managed to stick with me on that show, now at age 51, is that whenever Automan would wear regular clothes he’d have them OVER his computer generated animated suit, so you’d always see bits of it under his collar or sleeve cuffs. Lol! Best thing of all was that he’d give himself the civilian name of…*ahem!*…OTTO MANN!!! Bwaaaahahahahahaaaaa!!!
Stopped paying for Paramount+ last year, figured it was time to invest in Star Trek so I went and bought DS9 and Voyager series… no more prices increases.
Mae has clearly been thinking about her path forward since she saw Osha. I don't think it was out of nowhere, when the rubber was about to his the road she decided her reasoning for killing all those Jedi didn't make sense anymore. Yes, they could have given us a scene or two where she's mulling it over but still...

I don't always agree with you, John, but points 9 and 10 are 1000% spot on.
This isn’t rocket science.
(1) Make them good shows.
(2) Have enough “Star Wars” in the show that it will appeal to people who have been with this franchise for 10, 20, 30-plus years.
The showrunners have said many times that Erryk won, and that both Knights have almost identical wounds on purpose

He put together a script from off cuts of Avatar 2 that created a full script in 5 days for a graphic novel High Ground...

Regarding SW. Everything JC has said, pretty much the whole fanbase feels the same way I'd think. However, it seems as though Disney doesn't get it. I'm not a Disney basher, they have made some fantastic SW: Mandy S1&2, Andor, R1, Rebels etc... but, they've lost thier way.
Good writing covers multitude of things, good directing covers the rest.

Star Wars was at its height before the launch of Ep 7. What is campers talking about? Multiple generations that like both trilogies entering into the new trilogy, it’ll never be higher than it was in 2015
Yeah I agree, the lead up to Ep 7 was probably the peak of SW, and then it sharply went downhill after that

I am sorry the Acolyte has been so rough for John and others. I see many of its flaws, but this is one of very few Plus shows I’ve really been enjoying (only Visions and Andor were great for me previously - I absolutely loathe all the Marvel shows, especially Loki, and Willow was the biggest travesty of all). I have a lot of sympathy for people feeling miserable right now, because I’ve been there. I won’t rub my good time in your face or call you names for not liking what I like.
But I will say Star Wars as a whole is just in terrible shape, and I do blame Bob Iger rushing the sequel trilogy and Kennedy for being out of her element. Thanks for all the fish (Visions especially), but we got to try something else.
If Disney seriously wants to get people excited for Star Wars again I think they should try to do animated films based on George's original treatments for the sequel trilogy. I think that would at least be a somewhat feasible way of taking a glimpse at what the sequel trilogy could've been. The other thing is to obviously get rid of Kathleen Kennedy
If you want to start a new eero Star Wars 50 to 100 years after return of the Jedi or after Asoka, whatever they’re doing, they need to end this idea of this ray movie. The ray movie is Kathleen Ken’s last ditch effort to control the future of Star Wars because she’s gonna establish a new canon that will be hard to break and ignore, so she can leave with everything having to be about the legacy she left by or lack of legacy in our opinion

But here's the thing. He has said he doesn't. We need to stop doing this thing where we tell people what they should do based on what YOU think. Just because he's a huge fan doesn't mean he'll be good as that. And according to his own words he doesn't want to. But we do this often with alot of other things.

Like how Taika convinced Natalie Portman to come back to Thor. I bet Sam Witwer would like to be involved in a GOOD SW project, but it would have to be the right fit for him (but I don't think Disney would ever do anything he'd like to do)

I'd agree with that! (Even if Ep 3 has a lot of issues, it's easily the best of the prequels, and was enhanced by the last few eps of Clone Wars)
Like your 10 ideas about how to fix Star Wars John but maybe the truth at this point is that maybe Disney is just not good at making great Star Wars content. And I also think that Disney as a corporation is more worried about making money and putting out quantity Star Wars content, that the quality suffers because of that.

I hope that they just scrap all shows and movies going forward and just soft reboot the franchise where it takes place over 100 years after the sequels or over 500 years before the prequels.

When it comes to Star Wars. Side note. Ive really enjoyed The Acolyte. It has flaws. But in the grand scheme of things, I dig it.
Now regarding Star Wars as a whole. Ive enjoyed most of the stuff. We all agree Rise of Skywalker, Bobba, and Obi-Wan were not great. I liked parts of them all. Some more redeeming than others. Point is. Absolutely they need to do better.

Someone asked about if y’all have ever tripped balls while watching a movie and I just wanna say: For me the last time it was when Into the Spiderverse hit streaming, that was my first time watching it and I remember loving it like 9/10 level
I rewatched it for the first time to prep for Across spiderverse, and it somewhat underwhelmed me, under 8/10 territory, now I’m thinking the acid added shit to the movie that wasn’t there
