    Just a positive note for dialysis techs and nurses. I'm 73+ years old male and have been on dialysis for less than a year and I am one that considers dialysis to be a gift from God to keep me alive, and the angels who He sent to help care for me are the techs and nurses at my center. I strive at each session to let both know that I appreciate them caring for me that day and at the end of the week as we rotate techs, I thank my tech for taking care of me that week.

      Blessings to you. I am graduating with my ADN (for RN) in a couple of months and considering dialysis nursing. My father was on dialysis nearly 14 years and it had fascinated me since the first time I saw his treatment done in person. I'm considering dialysis as my specialty, but still trying to decide. It is a blessing and wishing you the best.

      To: #mustang,
      Dear Sir, How are you today?
      I really appreciate your comment that dialisis is a gift from God. I am thinking about going into that speciality and was watching videos about dialisis and I found your comment.
      Your comment added a million motivation for my desire to get into the dialisis world.
      May God bless you in everything.

    Long story short, I have a phone interview with DaVita next week. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I’m nervous excited

    Ehhh. I've been working in the Dialysis field for many years starting out as a Tech, LPN, and now RN and I just can't deal with it anymore. Mostly due to the rude and feeling of entitlement from most of the patients. They may not have the best life, I understand that, however, it's not the staff fault they are in this predicament. Nurses and healthcare professionals are people too. And a lot of chronic hemodialysis patients don't seem to understand that. Some do most don't. That's my opinion on this field. On another note, I start my new job in a different and less stressful specialty and I'm very happy 😊😊😊

    Hi Stephanie,
    Thank you for your post. I have been offered two different positions one with Davita and one with Fresnius and I am undecided mainly because of pay and schedule. One position is as a home hemodialysis nurse and the other is in clinic dialysis nurse the in clinic schedule is very long and it seems that it can be very overwhelming while the home hemodialysis position schedule is Monday to Friday however, the pay is also very different the salary of the in clinic position pays double the home hemodialysis position. So my question is what is the difference between the two that makes the pay so different and for someone who is looking to getting into the clinical management aspect of the job would it be better to start as a home hemodialysis nurse?
    I appreciate your response and advice.
    Thank you

    • @kidneycarecoaching3766
      @kidneycarecoaching3766  Před 4 lety +6

      Shirley Kenol Fresenius has more generous benefits while Davita has more for career development if you want to move up. The difference in pay is probably due to having to come in super early weekend and some late hours and or overtime. You have like either position just depends on your long term goals. Home seems easier but you do more work for less patients kinda like case management but in center is like fast food.

      Davita.com Fresenius.com or indeed has positions posted in your area, apply online. You could also visit a clinic, attend job fair or hiring event both companies heavily recruit. They offer on the job training usually around 12 weeks coursework and hands on experience. You must be able to pass an exam to keep employed.
