the hawthorne route is over a billion dollars more than the at-grade option, and for what benefit? neither take away lanes from cars, and the at-grade option is still grade separated at all major road crossings.
the at-grade option is easily the most reasonable option here, hawthorne is just a waste of money and the trench option will just prolong construction.

The Hawthorne blvd option is the worst one. It doesn’t even connect to any existing transit hubs, and it’s an extra billion dollars and years of construction so some nimbys are happy to the detriment of everyone else in the South Bay.
Metro already owns the row, so let them build it. If noise is really a concern for the row, the do the trench option and spend the same amount of money as you would on the Hawthorne route but without building on an already busy street.

Hawthorne Blvd route is the best as it won't interfere with traffic since it will be completely elevated

It’s the worst one since it will cause more congestion on Hawthorne blvd during construction and operation. The Hawthorne route does not connect to any transit centers, and would require the green line to also encroach on the 405. The row makes the most sense!

Elevated rail over Hawthorne Blvd is the best long term. Safer for cars and pedestrians since it's elevated and goes to more interesting places.

Thank you Metro for taking so long on just 5 miles that already had ROW, giving community plenty of time to rethink. Torrance does not want end terminal that homeless off load when train stops at night, it's refinery security risk. So long that I am now retired and can't use this extension. There is nothing to see or be entertained in Torrance.
Metro please take more decades of liberal study and community comments.

This metro extension was once low hanging fruit with right of way. Metro decided to waste money elsewhere, this fruit is now gone. Communities need to lawyer up now to stop this Metro extension like South Pasadena stopped the 710 extension. Community safety first !

Humm, homeless off Metro might camp next to huge Torrance lumberyard. Up in smoke someday. What's the security plan?

The usual racist NIMBY. “Safety” is just another word for black people.

Most communities leave the door wide open for the metro to build or in the case extended light rail service as long they’re getting some $$$ or attention from it. With the 710 freeway extension, those communities cried wolf about it since they didn’t want the chaos, and traffic a freeway would bring into those communities
