- The City of Los Angeles cleared out the homeless encampment in Hollywood, drawing a mix of protests and relief from some of the unhoused residents getting temporary hotel vouchers.

Ok homeless is a problem and many ppl are enabling homeless by giving them charity. Many homeless get offered help and a way to get back on their feet and they don’t want it. So now the cities need to get tougher on them. No one wants to walk around filthy streets.

IDK about "housing" but Inside Safe is definitely "sheltering" people in hotels ... I know because I live across the street from one and it's awful. Groups of people openly smoking fentanyl (and maybe meth) outside at all hours of the day and night. Sometimes a row of 10 people are all leaning against a building because they're so high on fetty. They also have a lot of fights and emergency responses (with lights and sirens). Sure we had a few junkies in the area because they're all over L.A. but Inside Safe really concentrates an entire neighborhood's worth of encampments all in one building, and if you happen to be near that building then you get all those problems concentrated in your face 24/7

Instead of feeding the homeless from a church, the city should take over and feed them from a food truck. Offer them food that's so scrumdiliumcious that they'll follow that truck wherever it goes. Keep moving that truck a little further south every day, when it gets a hundred miles into Mexico, do a quick U-turn and drive like a bat out of hell. Let them be the cartels' problem.

You need to have affordable housing, they must enter a 6month drug rehab program to become eligible for it. Then help with the transition of affordable housing.
And they'll be back again next week, they always do. Might not be the same people, could be another group, but all the same.
They need to pass a national law that requires homeless people to live in shelters and be drug/alcohol free, or else send them to the Wall in NW Alaska.
I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 15+ years and have seen the homeless come and go from this corner. I’d be amazed if they don’t return, promises or not. The 7-eleven across the street doesn’t help either. They hired a “security guard” who does absolutely nothing. They will be back.

*Not all homeless people are homeless people because of financial issues, most of them are because they are drug addicts and since they are living in public areas the police department and any federal institution should be allowed to search their tents and do a drug test to these individuals since they're in public areas, just like any other residents if they get caught drinking,drunk or using illegal drugs , or driving high or drunk would go to jail ,if they find this unconstitutional, DUI check should be unconstitutional as well*

I didn’t do drugs, or drink, worked my butt off with 3 roommates in a 2 bedroom apartment saving every penny for THREE YEARS to get my own place……I was 6’4” tall, and 150 pounds!!! I ate peanut butter, and Top Ramen for YEARS to save for my place!!! No partying, no nightclubs, or restaurants…….I made CHOICES to get my own place by 24!!!!! And when I finally did, I moved 2 roommates in to help me pay my mortgage!!!
