    I'm 53, I had a TT 2 yrs ago and I weigh 127lbs. I have always been a fairly thin person and the reason I got a TT was to rid myself of the C-section apron belly. I went from 99lbs - 150 in my 1st pregnancy! My stomach stretched a lot, so =TT was a must for me. Now that I look like I want to I immediately notice when I have gained internal fat. I simply get a little thick and I'm not as tight as I should be. Medical talk fascinates me! Thank you for stating all these important facts that most people don't know much about, Dr. Miami. I have also worked in the OR as a surgical tech and I remember working with some surgeons who hated operating on "big" people, smokers and alcoholics. The fat in the internal organs really DO GET IN THE WAY and make it difficult for the surgeons to operate on. Well, that's that. THX again for posting all these fun fact videos!!!

    Is there a body scan that would show both the internal and external fats? I feel like that would be super helpful to manage cosmetic surgery expectations.

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  Před 2 měsíci +3

      CT Scans and MRI clearly show internal fat but you wouldn't be able to get one solely to look at internal fat and internal fat is easy to detect clinically anyway.

      @DrWilliamMiami Hi..What test or what can I ask my Dr for to take a look at my viscal fat?

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  Před 2 měsíci

      There is no test that is required. Your doctor can determine it by physical examination.

    Wow!! What a great and simple explanation about our internal organs and how the fat is accumulated. As a doctor professor, if you are too, you should be amazing! Thanks!!

      I am not a professor! I am in private practice but education has always been a large part of my life so while I am not teaching medical students I still like to get the word out.

    So basically this is why some people have a bigger belly then they think they should have after surgery. So if i have that fat fold over my pelvic area (big or small) i need to focus on my calories and losing weight in my colon so i have better results?
