- Taking a look at Cyxtera Data Centre in Winnersh - Reading. Staff try to grab the camera and security have a massive meltdown over the drone.

There is no irony. It's their property.
They can do what they want on their own property (within reason). And, they can restrict what others do on their property (within reason).
That's like saying the employees can walk around the building so why are they restricting him from walking around it.

Very frustrating that people who are employed to protect a building somehow think they have the right to dictate to people in public.....they need reminding this is England and we have rights and freedoms including filming in public.
Judging by many videos that can be currently seen on CZcams, the rights and freedoms of the English seem to be rapidly diminishing. 😪

@@jorafter Yes they are, however the USA is actually getting worse on drones, and when you see the possible damage done by "domestic" drones in the Ukraine I understand their concerns. But if that were their concerns "covert" flying would be an issue no someone in front of that many security camera's

the point of foreign guards is they don't have English values so they are more willing to do as they are told without thought.
And the laws
The security guard at 14:35mins is highly likely to be a former British Army Gurkha, talking on the radio to another former Gurkha. When leaving the army their natural transition is in to security. There are also a number of Security firms that are owned by ex Gurkha's too.
There was a sign, very clearly displayed, saying ‘no public right of way’ and you completely ignored it!!

It seems to me that security in the UK quite frequently consists of people who speak very poor english. It just makes no sense to have theese people in a position where they interact with the public. Also, they seem to have very little understanding of law (perhaps due to language difficulties?) and then they end up trying to enforce whatever their bosses told them without regard to law. Is this sound? Is this a way to have a disposable yet obedient workforce so you as a company can get away with doing bad things by just terminating theese people?
Please dont think of this as me having a go at theese people. I am not english myself and have never been to the UK. I dont judge people based on where they come from but rather on how they behave towards others.
you answered your own question... they end up enforcing whatever their boseses tell them... and do you really think they are going to be able to go to tribunal if they do get unfairly fired for fucking up.
If you buy data in small quantities, say quarter of a pound or even 6 ounces, it's very expensive. Better to buy it in bulk packs - at least 5 pounds in weight. Much, much cheaper! 😎
I was getting a great deal from Qatar on bulk lots of data. Unfortunately some regulations stopped me and I lost a whole container of data on pet insurance policies. Oh well back to North Korea for dental records it is 🤣
If you can only afford small amounts don't go for the lower plan with less data for more mony, ask for the bit bucket offer - all the bits lost in transit or dropped at a port out of the line are swept together and put in yhe bucket for a fraction of price even compared to bulk buying.

You spoke about the right to privacy and not zooming in, but on you walk around you are zooming into CCTV cameras and even in the building zooming in on the ID tags. I would class that as suspicious activity.

Data centre people were all over the top, right from the start. Worrying how people just think it's ok to just grab what they want. I wouldn't like to be a woman in his company if his self-control is like that!

I would be pointing out to these security staff that they are committing an offence under the Civil Aviation Act by distracting a drone pilot while actively flying their drone.
