I have spent my life doing stuff like fixing things , building everything. It’s a combination of working out what you need to do and being intelligent. Shaun you will be fantastic at it, but sometimes it’s exhausting so give yourself time between things to get your energy back. After a few years of building everything I could not face another circular saw or drill or even sand paper. I sat on the stairs and sat crying. Give it at least a week or so of off time when you can feel ok. All the best and so much love… Alex

Yes, unfortunately the restrictions for import to most countries makes it impossible for us to export.

The mews is coming along a treat! What have you planned in the way of perches for Sherlock? Is it mostly platforms, or will there be pieces of branches and whatnot? Terrific job on the building, Shaun.
I hope you add some sort of human seating area nearby, I would imagine sitting quietly and watching your new boy will be quite relaxing.

BTW. Covering the gaps with thin strips of wood is a technique known as "board and batten", and lining those stone walls with some traditional North Country stoothing would help to keep the dust down. 😊

As a professional builder of many years I can give you one piece of wisdom. Any statement that implies that it's only going to take a little while is guaranteed to come back and haunt you.
But I want to remark on Sean's work. It is clearly quality work. So taking on the train room should be possible. Going to be more challenges but I'm sure that you can work them out. Remember that there's much wisdom on CZcams.
My train room is moving along. Not quite as big as yours only about two and a half meters by 3 m. But it's going to be almost all train. I have two more pieces of paneling to put up on the ceiling and the entire room is all insulated since this is a winter environment here. Next project is install the heater that I bought that should be more than adequate to keep me toasty this winter.
It doesn't matter how fast these projects happen as long as you're having fun doing it. Remember rule number one. It's your railroad.

All the new stuff for the bees and their honey is very exciting; so groovy. And the train barn is a personal plus for me. I grew up with HO trains as a kid, and then did it all again with my son. Great fun. Can't wait to see what your train layout looks like in the end.

I grew up on a honey farm (funny farm). The extracting equipment is exciting. I unboxed an extractor as a teenager on a larger scale, it held 75 frames. My father and grandfather had 2,000 colonies at the time. I just love watching it. And yes, a thriving hive can add 5-6 pounds of honey a day, we had a colony on a scale.
We have been watching your channel since the beginning but have somehow missed you guys moving to Scotland! Catching up now, my son Jack is a manager at SuperDry in Inverness, say hi to him next time you are in. We live in Moray now and love Scotland 🏴🏴
