More content like this please. Not everyone needs/can afford a flagship bow.
My Whitetail Maxx - $600
Trophy Ridge Hotwire sight - $110
Trophy Ridge Sync - $50
Trophy Ridge Stabilizer kit - $130
Wrist sling - $20
Peep - $8
D-loop $5

Scott Little Goose 2 release - $65
Definitely recommend the Consequence. I bought one and had a few small issues but Darton replaced it. The new one groups very well at 100 yards and the speed is very competitive with my Phase 4 33. Both 70 lbs, 30 inches.
Where is the PSE Stinger? The Stinger will out shoot all of these bows.
@@AVOinc I tested the stinger when I was buying my first compound. Draw cycle felt like garbage. I ended up with an edge 320 for adjustability, but there was a bear that was a close second. Some other people told me it could have been a bad setup by the shop, idk if you've had good luck with it. My experience was that there was almost 2 humps during the draw and I was like meh.
@AVOinc maybe 10 years ago, the Darton is just on another level of quality and comfort. I was shocked how good it was. Ive shot the PSE as well. The PSE is seriously not quite there like it was in the past.
The editing an b-roll, cuts, music, and whatever other production/editing terms im not using correctly, is always top notchh. Love it
Darton has been turning out some awesome bows the past couple years. I just ordered a sequel 33 last week
I'm looking forward to a part 2! I would love to see how these bows preform outside at longer range and even more so would like to see you test there shootability from a treestand or saddle for us that arnt western hunters like yall. I'm from south east Missouri and I'm in a tree 98%of the time. Some bows are harder than others to draw in those positions. You make awesome content I definitely appreciate all the work you put in to your videos!
Go with the Darton!
Doing my first hunting trip this year. Love these under $1000 vids. Detailed AF.
Love this video. Good info for the low budget hunter. Can you discuss sometime about what makes a $1,400 bow different than a $600 bow and how accurate are they.
Been soooo excited for the budget showdown. I got a cousin looking to get into archery, maybe this summer. Good video to show him . Shared!
Glad it helped ✊
Love this! I went into this winter open minded on all the bows rather than just flagships. Ended up with the Darton Consequence. I might buy a second one now and still have money in my pocket vs buying my annual flagship.
Thx for continued informative vids!🙏
Very cool!
Excited for this! Bear Alaskan has been on my radar!!
I DEFINITELY would like to see a budget bow hunt or two.
I hear so many people say they want to get into archery but it's too expensive. I think these types of bows are much more feasible for the masses. And they are way underrated.
I listen to both of your guys content.. just film your hunts.. it will be a super bonus on your channel
Just got back into archery 3 yrs ago after 20 yrs out and was blown away by all the new tech put into it. Told myself doesn’t seem much more they can do to bows that will be a major jump that will make me think 10 yrs from now my current bow will still be considered a decent bow. But after following MFJJ and religiously watching almost every video he posted. Im realizing there’s a lot more little tweaks that manufacturers can do. Thought I just bought my last bow I’ll ever need but looks like there might be 1 or 2 more bows in my future.
I’m thinking about getting my first real bow. Aside from the K-mart one I had as a little kid.
I like the idea of having a lighter bow. My brother has a Matthew’s, and it just feels so weighty with all his accessories, etc. Doesn’t feel ideal for hunting. So I like the carbon bows. Not completely sure how the Zion got eliminated. But that Darton Consequence looks mighty sweet.
If Bear would have put the EKO cam on the Alaskan XT they would barely sell any Persist or Execute bows. Keep up the good fight you two.
Love this type of content. I personally cannot afford the latest and greatest and top name equipment. I love my Bear Execute 32, used HHA optimizer ultra, Trophy Ridge stabs. It gets it done. Keep up the good work. Def subbed.
I’ve shot over 300 arrows since December through my Bear Vast. No a single complaint. Changed the peep is the only thing I’ve done.
pse drive nxt will smoke all these. best bow for the money and best new camo pattern hands down.
Nice video.
I like a 7 1/2 BH not just for the forgiveness but also for the how it make it easy the first part of the drawing cycle. I would like to see more designs including this feature.
The Darton Consequence is short but stable; nice for hunting and moving in thick forest. And it seems to be also fast and quite. I don´t know why you changed the weight of the arrow (-15 grain) testing this one...
I really like the Darton.
I picked up the Darton Consequence beginning of the year, one of my favorite bows, I was able to get it for $585.00 with a 10% coupon code, I think this is the best choice in the budget category.😊
Why not anything from PSE or Elite?
Budget bows are right up my alley, I’m on a minimal budget and upgrade things as I can afford them.
That PSE Mach 30 for me was a serious swing and miss for $2k. I actually waited on that bow before picking one to buy.
The Darton or Alaskan is hard to beat.
While I enjoy seeing all the budget bow comparisons. I feel using the RTH they offer is more what people are looking at. Maybe I’m wrong. But the amount of technical specs in the accessories is a bit overwhelming to a new guy. I’m new to it and the RTH setups is what drew me in
I have Hoyt Ventum Pro 30 and I like it. The dumbest 2500$ I spent was on Ravin R26 crossbow. Crossbow is amazing but if you like to shoot a lot you will have to spend 150-200$ every little bit for strings.
I shoot a 21 Resurgence which is effectively an Alaskan, but the XT is a longer ATA. It's a really great bow. Very smooth and consistent. With the right rest and site it performs
I shot the consequence the other day and it completely changed everything I thought I knew haha. I think it's a phenomenal starter bow/back up bow.
The production of your videos always makes me wonder why you don't already have 100k. Solid content as always my man!
Working on it!
This was your best video yet! I wanna see you hunt with the Darton Consequence
Awesome video and something you don't see enough of. Looking at the whitetail max as a back up bow because I like the extra speed you get from it. But that's the joy of personal preference.
Tims hair is on point! I’m jealous of those locks
been growing the flow for a goodwhile!
With the cost of outdoor equipment at all time highs due to the explosion of social media related to the outdoors and the societal changes from COVID, there will be more and more of the need for budget based solutions. Thankfully some manufacturers are on top of that. Prime included. The Ronan should be on this list. I would run a Ronan with a Whisker Biscuit and a decent sight all day long and that could easily be under 1K.
Love this series! Can't wait for part 2. I am a knuckle dragger so I'm hoping the darton wins so I can see the final build!!
Definitely take your budget bow build on a hunt! That’s the true test for any HUNTING BOW
Thumbs up for the Alaskan XT ..A note for the Bear models, they offer an inexpensive($15) Bearpaw grip that has a great feel if you don't want to shoot right off the riser..
I appreciate this video. This is the kind of video I always hope to find. Definitely helped me decide which bows I’m trying in person. 👍
Awesome job!! Looking for a loaner bow for the stable. People come over and want to learn. Can’t wait for second vid!
Love to see some older bows like the Hoyt game getter, Mathew’s, Martin stuff like that to see how they still go
I'd love to see a "budget accessories" vid...as a beginner archer I have my bow and my 2 dozen arrows....everyone talks about releases but to me a release won't really improve performance I'd love to see a vid about maybe the best budget sights and/or stabilizers or whatever else may actually help me improve now that I know I like the sport and don't mind spending some more money but not wanting to change my bow
The Darton bow is so impressive that they could build that with basically the same limbs and cams from their flagship bows and still make the riser out of 7075.
I bought the bear alaskan and it's been really solid. Only issue was it had a weird twang when I shot it and it sounded a little loud. I took off the bear limb dampeners and put aftermarket ones on...what a huge difference. Other than that I love the bow. And for reference my last two bows have been flagship bows but I don't feel this one lacks in any department.
I like this budget bow video concept. My personal belief is that for hunting, you need a decent bow that will stay in tune. Not necessarily a flagship. I also believe, you are better off to go with a less expensive bow and buy higher end accessories like the sight and rest.
Bear Alaskan all day bro! I have the 2022 model at 31/70. It's a workhorse and stupid accurate. It is made to hunt and performs very well. I also run a Mathews.
The darton from a distance almost looks like a baby trx
Got mine for under $600 fully setup with 10” front 6” back , trophy taker cable drop away and spotthogg apex Hogg for under $900. Shop around you can get a flagship bow setup with plenty of money leftover to bet your buddy with the flagship shot for shot and possibly thicken the wallet…😮
Gotta get that benchmade 940 classy knife.
I just bought the Darton Consequence two weeks ago and got it sighted in to 70 yards. I own multiple flagship bows from Bear, PSE and hands down this bow out performs them..!! I was actually looking at the Alaskan XT , but after watching MFJJ’s review in the Consequence I was sold…. Probably still going to buy the Alaskan XT … curious to see which one you choose…????
All along WalMart thought it was the riffraff taking their carts.
It's a shame that the elite basin didn't make its way in
the most important series on the interweb O'connor, good job! Glad you're growing back your whiskers lol. P.s. - I would argue all day - every day - that these bows are every bit as capable, maybe more so than many top end offerings, as an awesome hunting rig.
.....now do hunting sights under 50 bucks, and same with arrow rests. In the real hunting world, simple is virtually always best .......the budget equipment almost always rolls that way by design..........kill 2 stoned birds at once O'connor ;)
The Bear Whitetail Maxx is just what you said it was, but I still chose it over the Alaskan because of the let off adjustability. The picatinny attachment points don't interest me. I prefer the old school attachment points. To each his own I guess.
Good showing for the budgets!
Tim... i watched you eliminate every bow.. and choose a BOWTECH SS.... guess im buying the SS...
thank u... yes i subscribed FYI😂😂😂😂😂
Nice work.
Thanks TL
Goes to show how subjective this is, I bought a new bow yesterday, when I spoke to the bow shop saying I was tossing up the Alaskan or Whitetail, they said to just save time and get the Whitetail. And they're the same price basically.
Id love to see ya take a few budget bows on hunts and 3D tournaments and write down your pros and cons for each.
My pick, Bear Alaskan-due to all the included features.
Is there a reason the Prime Ronan didn't make the cut? It seems like a great bow for the money. That consequence will be hard to beat though I think. The Alaskan XT packs a lot into that price as well.
Ronan is $200 more than our price cut off
@@TimConnor13 understood. I am curious to see how the XT compares to the consquences.
I had the Bowtech carbon knight like 12years ago, great bow I think that’s similar to the new carbon Zion.
Yes definitely hunt with one, then do pros and cons after the hunt
I'd like to see you go out and shoot the 3d course for a couple of weeks and switch back and forth between flagship and budget bow.
Man should have had the pse drive nxt in the mix it’s an amazing bow for the price.
I find it so funny how I would watch Josh for my pistol reviews now I'm watching him for my frist bow purchase. Any suggestions I wanted the carbon zion but after this I'm leaning towards the Alaskan XT
I do want to get into using bows and wouldn't mind trying to make compound bows
Love the videos. I have an Elite Terrain and I absolutely love it. It’s super smooth and shoots well. Keep up the great work. Road to 100K
You should take a budget bow to T.A.C!
Great content. I only discovered your channel a month or so ago and I like it.
Hanks man. Great review.
That's definitely the final I wanted to see, let's see what sight and rest you can put on it for less than $200.00 to leave money for some nice arrows and broadheads...
Really smart series. I hope this is the huge success you deserve.
Thank you my dude
Can you do everything on a budget sights /rests /quiver / arrows /stabs I think it would good to know what’s good price and quality with the MFJJ stamp of approval
I just got back into archery got a new bow Pse brute nxt for a steal and you guys have been awesome to watch and learn from Dan too
I just built up a set of victory rip bc they are a great price and steel inserts for that price hard to beat
Gonna pick up the ez fletch left from podium that’s how the shafts clocked and get some hybrid hps to test and max stealth’s the elk shape ones see which ones fly better out of my setup with the micro hades 125
That Stan index has been awesome btw great recommendation
Keep it up
here for the long run subbed to all three of you guys
great video, excited for the next video and the build.
I sent you message on ig too bt Maybe do a video on shooting a whole bunch of different Lighted knocks see which one are The brightest in the most consistent. Thank you for continuing to put up videos every week. Love it keep it up👊👊
Tim felt a little crunchiness drawing the Alaskan XT. He's foreshadowing here, because it ended up with a bad bearing in later videos where he's doing a shoot-off to see which bow he takes to TAC. That crunchiness may very well have been the beginning of the bearing going bad.
Tim, any chance you guys can do a video on the best bows for female hunters/shooters? I’ve been looking for a bow for my wife to step up to from her entry level bow and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of talk about bows for women. At least not solid reviews like you and MFJJ put out. Thanks!
Leaving a comment to help your algorithm. Love you videos and the pod. Keep up the good work
Bench made definitely nicer
I like Benchmade but I use mine like anyother knife so it's scracted up when someone whips there knife our and still looks new then it's more of a status symbol than it is a knife
I mean my Benchmade was expensive but very nice, but Tim's bear knife fixs his bear budget bow build so mfjj nicer but to each his own I told my wife and kids not to spend no 300 but I still ended up with it 🤔
Id like to see the Ronan & Terrain/Basin/Ember in the mix
I have 3 bear bows love all of them my newest is the Alaskan love it I have a mattrews tactic
This is a great series…buuuuttt….can you do a mid price bow….Ronan v surpass v Torrex xt v lazer??????
How big of a deal is the limb pocket material? Bear Alaskan XT is plastic, Darton consequence is aluminum, but does that make much of a durability difference for the average shooter?
What about a video on budget package or "ready to go" bows? You can get a pse stinger for like 350
Didn't the whitetail have a roller guard too?
keen to see a 3d run with flagship then your budget build with scores.. would be interesting. that and a hunt with the budget
Troubleshooting videos! Different types of problems, scenarios etc. DIY style. New shooter here, and to me, learning the equipment and how to work on it is equally important as learning to shoot.
Best mid range bow, and also best bow for the money, regardless of price.
Hey guys, I need a quiver for the bear adapt plus, the quiver that it came with don’t hold the thinner arrows. Thanks in advance 🙏🏽
You should do a video on what the process you use to shoot longer distances accurately like the steps you take 🤷
Love to see you hunt with the budget bow. Maybe a bear hunt?
BenchMade all day baby!
Have no idea if this is in your list before I watch/read but was planning to get a bear alaskan xt.
I like the bear bow I have a bear cruzer rth sand color it shoot great
Well done. Huge thanks
Tim.. would like to know what your criteria for budget bows are? Seems more like moderate price category not budget... Most of these bows are not off the rack bows from standard corperate stores... good content but more midrange than budget bows... I would consider diamond 320, bear species, PSE stingers or drive NXTs, Missions, darton bows more budget bows (complete packages) Again what is your criteria for "budget" ??? If you are going for budget bows, step down to entry level bows not midrange bows.. OR qualify this and state that your discounting entry level bows for mid price range bows. Curious why you picked $1000 as the price point for budget bows? Someone could just as easily buy say a Mission or PSE stinger and be good to go. While I would guess that most that follow you shoot and have flagship bows, one could easly spend under a grand and get into the sport with a "budget" bow.
Whats the difference in a trad bow and a budget bow
Not much when its in the hands of someone who shoots them well
the arrow goes where aimed and kills
