    I just installed the splash guards or whatever they are called on my 24 Camry.😂 Your instructions were fantastic because Toyota does not include them with the guards. I greatly appreciated the help.

    Just installed the splash guards on our 2021 XSE, worked like a charm! Thanks for the video!!! (Especially considering the splash guard package that I was sent didn't include any instructions)

    I just watched this video and it was a big help installing on my 2023 SE. I tried but could not find Toyotas directions on the internet. If it wasn't for this video, I'd be out of luck. I want to point out that Toyota did not supply two of those square plug things in my kit, just one. I need to go to the dealer to get another one of those. I also noticed that the bottom rear tab isn't aligned that well with anything. I love Toyota but I don't think they did a very good job with these guards. They should have been easier to install and not have slightly different screws, clips and push pins. The whole thing could have been made easier if they would have just added a little slip of paper (the directions) in the BOX! Thank you Pat for making this video.

      I’m happy my poorly made video helped. I agree on some of the aspects of design, but mine have held up very well since I installed them, so you should have good luck as well. Enjoy your Camry! I love mine…

    The clip position in the rear had me scratching my head for a moment. It goes from outside in. Splash/mud guard Bumper, liner, black plastic molding with the clip attached to that. That's what he meant by the liner goes in between. Starting that screw on the bottom then the doing the top two helps the screw through the liner in the rear.
    EDIT: A little blue Loctite on the screws that go underneath for a piece of mind. I lost one 2 days in. Took some looking to find a proper replacement. Toyota was no help.

    Instructions? They were not provided and these were purchased straight from the dealer. Thanks for video as it saved me a bunch of time figuring it all out! Just a couple tips on common mistakes made when doing how to videos. 1. Often camera doesn't capture important parts due to either camera too close or simply not aimed correctly. Backing out camera here is the solution. 2. Using pronouns in place of specific nouns. Example "There's a spring clip you are going to have to put in there". Perhaps the camera fix would have made this obvious. Please consider these as constructive criticism as bottom line you did us a great favor by showing this to us.

    I'm having mudguards installed on my Camry. It seems you think it might be worth it?

    • @scottpoiry4610
      @scottpoiry4610 Před 2 lety

      Yea, it’s worth it. Saves the rocker panels from rock chips and generally keeps that area much cleaner.especially important if you want to keep the car a while.

    Did you use an adapter on the floor jack to go on the body jack point on the rear?? In other words did the jack have a slot for jack point to drop into. Thank you

    • @scottpoiry4610
      @scottpoiry4610 Před 2 lety +1

      No. I used a low profile jack that has a thick piece of rubber in the cup of the lifting point. Worked fine… no issues whatsoever. Just make sure to use the spot on the frame that is made for lifting the car.

  • @alexmoon7049
    @alexmoon7049 Před 3 lety +1

    Do you NEED to drill those 2 holes? I’m going to be doing it myself and I don’t have access to a Jack. I was going to turn the tires and do all the holes that I could see. Do you think that will suffice?

    • @scottpoiry4610
      @scottpoiry4610 Před 3 lety +3

      I don’t think it’ll hold up with snow and stuff getting behind it without those grommets in place. Maybe shorten a drill bit and/or a right-angle drill would do it up front. In back, the wheel needs to come off though, there’s no room. How about using the jack that came with the spare tire?

    • @jackmaple4207
      @jackmaple4207 Před 2 lety

      I bought an inexpensive air powered angle drill at Harbor Freight and it worked perfectly for the front. Just turn the wheel to get it out of the way. I haven’t done the rears yet.

    Think to paint the color of the car

    • @patrickduane3514
      @patrickduane3514  Před 3 lety +1

      I’m pretty sure the rock salt and gravel from the road would chip any paint off the guards. But now that you mention paint, maybe I should paint the calipers and rotors. What color?

    • @user-hn7uv5ux6j
      @user-hn7uv5ux6j Před 3 lety

      @@patrickduane3514 I like it when the car parts are in harmony with the body color. The paint should do more of a protective function than a styling function. The mudguards fulfill their protective function, but the black color is different from the appearance of the car thought out by the designer.

      @@user-hn7uv5ux6j Actually, the valence panel under the rear bumper exactly matches the color and texture of the guards. It looks like it was planned. I’ll take a picture so you can see what I see. What do you think about the rotor/calipers? black?

      @@patrickduane3514 The designers did a great job on the look of the car. I think that the element that will stand out can spoil the harmony. I am against black on disks and calipers.

      @@user-hn7uv5ux6j I agree with you. The thing is, I hate rust...and entropy in general, and they are starting to look bad. The original color of them was a metallic nickel treatment I think. Maybe I can find a match to that.
