Damn Straight and it's another Rocket for him matching Mario Lemieux who was the last to hit 69 G's. Matthews has another 12 years in the NHL where he likely can do it and this season with 69 will give him the motivation and belief for the next 12 seasons as long as he stays healthy..
Bruins up next in our last four Post Season series against them they beat us 4-3 so we have them a go they didn't just walk through us so hopefully we can win this one.. Need all three cylinders going on simultaneously..

The Leafs Executives set Matthews up for failure. To succeed in his last 2 games - he had to score his 70th. With Marner not Domi - Matthews chances to score drop. Why weren’t Leafs Executives content with 69 goals? No - they brought this view on - by showing Auston trying and failing to score 70 goals likely ever in his career now. Just sad. 😀
U know Matthews had a plethora of chances in fact his last two games he hit the posts four times with the goalie beat and other xhamxes..

I swear, my entire life as a Leafs fan is high hopes followed by "a sadness". It's been like that for as long as I can remember: each year brings a new, creative way to disappoint fans, and it's pure media manipulation... and it's a manipulation on both sides. For the fans, this ridiculous hype raises expectations nobody asked for. For haters, there's the constant bombardment of "Leafs news" that results in the team living rent free in the minds of people who should be concentrating on their own team's ups and downs instead.
Had he hit 99 goals, there'd be a "sadness" that he didn't hit 100 goals.
