I Let a Celebrity Stylist Choose My Outfit for Beautycon!

- A personal stylist picks my outfits and I and do a plus size designer clothing try on! I've tried a nordstroms stylist before, but never a celebrity stylist like this! For beautycon 2019 I had professional stylist go luxury shopping and find designer clothes to dress my size 14 body, had a makeup artist glam me up, but in the end I left beautycon feeling really down on myself after all the drama and how poorly I was treated. I am so proud of who I am and the content I create online, and no one can take that from me.

Lol at me being so confused when they were calling that blue dress “off white.” I now realize that off white is a brand 😂😂 my broke-ness is showing 🤷🏼♀️
Hahaa omg I legit thought the same thing. I was scared this was that scenario with the blue/black vs white/gold dress 😂
Me too! My 12 year old brother had to explain to me that off white was a brand 😂 first time I’ve ever felt old haha.
Arshi Mok lmao my same exact thoughts 😂😂😂
OMG during the entire beautycon video I was so fucking confused! I was like did she wear a different dress at some point that she never showed??
@@hershibar14 l legit had flashbacks to that white/gold situation, glad I'm not the only one
You are actually the queen for not changing this into “drama” and not putting clickbait title to this video. It confirms your integrity, once again.
Still, the truth about how you were treated has to be shared.
Agreed
Like the alright lady’s was 100% Nikita Dragon.
I soooo wish you had gone with the first blazer “dress”. That was the winner to me. You looked incredible.
me too. white blazer was my fav! total show stopper! but i can understand maybe being self conscious cause it was short. i just started watching your channel today. its so good! im sorry that stuff happened to you. I hate when people are highschool acting even when they are adults.
It was sooooo chic. I agree. She would have killed it. They would have all gagged on her edges.
I wish the same...to be honest the blue dress looked the worse..not sure why she choose that one..
I agree.
Agree but clearly it wouldn’t have changed anything.:
Watching this video hurt, seeing you so effervescent and seeing an event just obliterate your confidence made me so upset and angry.. you are an incredible BEAUTIFUL creator and you are so deserving. I’ve been a CZcamsr for 10+ years, and while I only dabble in the beauty realm (I’m primarily a musician) I have friends who are full time beauty creators. Most of them have shared with me that they too have rarely or even never felt embraced or felt comfortable in the beauty community. I always feel uncomfortable at beauty events. Partly because of my own personal issues and insecurities, but also partly in how I was treated sometimes. I’ve had wonderful experiences meeting some people, but yes many others have made me feel less than. My friends in the community vary in brand style, body type, and their message, but overall I personally just wish to see more joy and warmth from the community. There’s a vibe of competition where I wish there was support. But I think the more people stand up and stand for something else, like you, building your amazing community, the more the tide will turn! Sending you so much love, and I hope I get to meet you someday! I enjoy your videos so much! ❤️
"First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win." Gandhi
I’m reading this on India’s 73 Independence Day. Gandhi is the father of the nation. Happy Independence Day 🇮🇳
Awwww that was very inspiring 💛
Just.
YES.
I'm reading this as a BTS fan, an "ARMY" and this is exactly their story in the music industry :-)/
It is a great quote, but FYI Gandhi never said it.
When she cried, it broke my heart. I am saddened but mostly pissed at BeautyCon.
I liked the off white but for like a night time event. Beautycon I think of white or floral clean and crisp. But I thought it was beautiful just a lil too night time and hot looking for a warm day time event. The first blazer you tried with a see through skirt similar to the top you had on here would have been the ticket for me. You seem so confident naturally so most importantly remember to always wear that confidence before anything else. If anyone has a problem with you then it’s their problem not yours.
Has this lady ever BEEN to LA? It’s the dead of summer and she’s dressing you in winter clothes. Any LA native will tell you to dress for the outside heat and then bring a light jacket for the AC.
That being said, I do love the dress you chose. You looked beautiful!
Wow - the fact that they said it was 'gossip, drama and fake news' unbelievable, they should be so ashamed and I really hope they apologize. Unacceptable.
Double Vanilla who said that?
@@Ife17That was the official response from beauty con when sierra's management asked if they wanted to comment/apologize on the situation, and so beauty con responded with the above on their instagram, Sierra discusses it at the end of this video,
please remember that you’re not the problem, your outfit isn’t the problem, your face and body isn’t the problem, neither your attitude. beautycon is the problem.
Amen!
👏👏👏👏
this !!
yes!
Agreed!
As a subculture-y person, lemme just say that "I feel like I dont fit in, so maybe if I dress like them, I'll fit in/they'll accept me" never works out. It's almost always better to dress and present the way you want, to let that confidence come from yourself rather than how people treat you. People who treat other people poorly will do so no matter how they're dressed. and all that is not to say "don't try things out of your comfort zone, dont got to a stylist etc. etc." because trying new things is how you find out what you like. It's just that you should do things because you genuinely want to, not because you want people to treat you well. They should treat you well no matter how you look, no matter where you are, and if they don't that's on them. That's their problem, and it WILL cause them issues in the future.
Like, when I had my phase for a year-two years of dressing more like other people, I didn't feel as good as when I dress for myself. When I dress for myself, I feel like a badass and I walk like a badass. People whisper(loudly) to their friends about how cool my outfits are. One time, a girl literally screamed at her friend because she loved my hair.
I never thought that off white dress would be that expensive. It looks like something you would find at forever21
Aurum12HM ya.it didn’t really look expensive
So true
You can find similar looking velvet dresses, sweatshirts, and bodysuits on Aliexpress. I doubt there's _that much_ of a difference in quality and construction between the two. I-
that's typical off white tbh... he just puts off on everything lol but nothing special
justførkicks: ...no... I really do think there’ll be a difference in quality...
It breaks my heart hearing how excited you were when you picked the dress. They treated you so bad and I hope they make a public apology
Absolutely nobody:
The Stylist: Oooh I have a belt for that! 🏃♀️
Jojo Balcius DEAD at the lil running woman
In my mind she ran off into space lol
😂🤣
There were some cute outfits here, but I don't feel the stylist listened to her. She needed to dress for beautycon, too many fall outfits. It's summer in LA!!!!
Georgia Ross exactly also why the heavy velvet material for the heat of summer in LA ?
I wonder what her qualifications for being a stylist are. She didn't seem to really get style at all, even her own. I would think a stylist should look...stylish. She seemed like she was faking it.
Wow, Beautycon is gross. You're a lovely, intelligent individual who didn't deserve the nasty treatment she received 😔
My heart hurts for you. Stay strong, sweetheart!
White blazer-dress was amazing on you
Agreed! I'm so obsessed with that look. 🔥
I agree! I wish you had went with that outfit!
It was a bit too short but I agree, she looked the best in it.
@@hopearnold9100 lol girl have you seen what some these influencers wear? Not short at all. Porbbaly would have gotten more pics if she wore it.
well the stylist said they could make the blazer dress longer, so if she went with it, it would have been longer.... So idk what you people with it being short is on about.
YES, SIERRA! Please do NOT allow your voice to be silenced! Thank you! You are RIGHT. They are WRONG. KEEP FIGHTING--YOU HAVE AN ARMY BEHIND YOU!
hummingbird hobo nick Snyder at the viewers voice is wanting to do an interview with her. I hope he does. It’s indicative of LA and the superficiality of the majority of the beauty community. But the behavior of the staff at beautycon was appalling.
I so wish you would expose the influencers blurred out on the golf cart. I know you don’t want to “sling mud” or partake in the drama , but these people need to learn the consequences of their bad behavior. It is a sad reality that you can receive thousands of encouraging comments, but one negative statement or experience can change your whole experience. You’ve certainly taken the high road and I commend you for it. Most others would not have been as strong willed as you have been in this whole situation. I know I wouldn’t have been.
Kimber Corbitt agreed no reason and 100% legal to show their faces.
I kinda see the reasoning for keeping them hidden. It's entirely possible that some of the interaction was a result of misunderstanding, like for instance the people in the cart might not have been aware that they were being taken out of order, and it's possible the laughter was at something else. I think we all know it seems likely that mockery happened, but at the same time, I think it's very professional and responsible of Sierra to keep the footage anonymized so that a whole lot of cancel-culture hate doesn't go out over something that isn't necessarily really confirmed.
Yes, but then Beautycon could take it and use as more evidence that Sierra was "just trying to start drama" even though she wasn't. So yes, those people need to get what they deserve, but at the cost of more people to see it as gossip and drama? I think its better that she blurred them, cuz you know how drama filled the beauty community is.
Totally agree I wanna know if I’m subbed to complete bitches
i love how shes talking about how she was mistreated..... but everyone focuses on her damn outfit... reallly???
Yeah. No matter what she wore -- they would have probably been the same way. They're UGLY on the inside.
It could be because they were commenting while the video was still playing for them, so that was the main focus? 🤷♀️
its possible that 1) they were commenting as it played and 2) they commented on the actual video she made about how poorly they were made and so left the positivity on here and not on the negativity.
Also i realize im EXTREMELY late
Because it's Beautycon and she looked a hot mess. Nothing to do with size, that was NOT the outfit or makeup for her. At all. The fact someone who supposedly works as a professional stylist put her in this is so sad to me. Almost like she was turning her into a joke. It's sad. Not saying anyone should be treated poorly - not at all - just saying she is assuming it's about size and in this case, I think it was more about looking awful. She's a gorgeous girl and this makes her look like someone who doesn't know about the beauty industry, which isn't something a beauty convention welcomes, rightly or wrongly.
@@michellebaker6302 You're right. And sadly the dress and makeup clashed. The makeup application was also........ a choice.
You spoke directly to my chubby little heart. For every high school dance in which I felt invisible and ridiculous. Every time I got side eyed by someone who thought they were better. When even as an adult I consider whether i'm comfortable with my boyfriend seeing me naked. That's that feel.
Can relate. :[
Maybe beautycon was afwul, you still looked absolutely beautiful! We love you for your honesty❤️
sanne2299 wait what Happened?
Brittany Martinez you should watch her vlog on Sierra and Stephen IRL. Basically there was NO food, water or Seats for her and skylar and she was treated like she isnt someone important.
As cool as that blue velvet dress was, I think it was overdressed for the summer. That was a cocktail dress you wear in the winter. I think you would have been better off looking like an influencer at BeautyCon wearing the white bra and mesh shirt with the white skirt. Don’t doubt your own style. It got you where you are already.
Edit: it makes more sense knowing you picked the dress because of the name, but it does look like something from Express.
i thought the same about that mesh shirt and bra even though I'm not big on wearing the see thru stuff (i'm way too old for it but it was never my style anyway)
Chuck the denim blazer over what she was already wearing - fabulous!
She looked great in the bra outfit but it was a for a video where she dressed up as mylifeaseva (think that's her name?) so if she went to Beautycon in that I feel like she might get called out for it. But for real. She could have styled herself and looked 1000 times better.
Dude this is literally my biggest fear as a chubby woman. Dressing up and having other people laugh at the effort I'm making because they think i look ridiculous. I've always felt bad and uncomfortable and self conscious in "dressy" clothes, and watching the beauty con footage really hurt because it reminded me so much of my own experiences. Sadly, this happens to A LOT of bigger girls and women. We want to "dress the part" but then just get laughed at because "oh honey, that makeup can't hide your flabby arms lol". Ugh. Screw those bastards.
their Livestream was CRAP and absolutely RUDE. whether or not they felt like you were treated poorly, they could have apologized as a real professional company would. thanks for speaking up.
Was the Livestream on beautycons Instagram? I went to watch it and couldn't find it.
Britney Turner yes it was, it might be gone if it’s been 24 hours
Did they address Sierra situation? Sorry for asking, but I missed the life stream...
Sophie Katharina they did a very little bit without saying her name. They basically blew it off and they called it “fake news” it was not very professional at all
yeah, their livestream wasn't professional AT ALL and basically them saying "its not true! they're lying!" like???? there's literally video evidence of them getting laughed at???? not ok.
That black dress with that belt, necklace, heels....damn girl. You look good!
This lady is a stylist? She dressed you in fall/winter clothes. They all looked amazing, just out of season. I'm totally confused with her options for you. I loved the floral dress with the belt!
S B she wasn't a good stylist for sure. Completely wrong season and honestly not a huge fan of the majority of looks although the pieces weren't bad separately. I feel like she was actively trying to cover or hide her body up rather than accentuate her curves. I was also not a fan of the make up. Sierra is a beautiful woman so it was frustrating.
S B Yeah, not the greatest stylist. But like you, like the white floral dress.
Yes, that dress was great!
I can’t imagine myself paying a ton of money to hire a stylist and get this look !!!! Sierra you’re beautiful in every way you’re so much more put together and stylish in your own way this woman added literally zerooo to you !!!!
That black dress screams I’m ready for my Ted Talk 💁♀️
I'd love to see her do a Ted Talk on body positivity.
I probably sound dumb but what’s “Ted talk”???
you can find them on CZcams. My favorite one is the one about the lady who left the westboro Baptist church but there are different videos on different topics just search ted talk
LangBellsChannel underrated comment 👏🏽👏🏽
LangBellsChannel yessss! :)
That white blazer dress omg!!! STUNNING
beautycon is CANCELLED
S Hayden yes! She looked amazing in that first dress!
S Hayden i dont even care about cancel culture but they DESERVE to be cancelled, like forever
I hate that Sierra was treated so horribly but wow what an amazingly beautiful person! She’s so inspirational. Love you Sierra❤️
Sierra - I say you start your own “con” event...”B-Positive Con” an all inclusive event for all. Invite designers that include all body types. You can drive the change even if you start small, you have this! You can be the change!
That ‘Hamptons’ dress was stunning! I love the end outfit but that floral dress was my favorite!
Same
Same! That floral dress was stunning!
Samee! She looked sO elegant in it
Agreed. It seemed more appropriate as a day look, while the look she chose seems more night lifey to me. But I'm happy Sierra stepped out of her comfort zone and she did rock it well.
14:13 this dress should’ve been cropped to be aysmetical hemline and puffed sleeves. KEEP THE POCKETS 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 bow down to pockets. make it a depper V - wear boob tape (organic brand though) -
ORANGE lace up flats NO pain!! 👠
gold jelwery
orange fury bag for fashion forward fun! and out of your comfort zone but an upcoming fall trend so again fashion forward!!
also neon is big so all the muted neon orange would be such a lewk!!!
finish off with a smokey eye and berry lip tone 💄
oh and some hair accessories bc we both adore some hair accorded to no end!!!
ALSO switch the belt on the dress to plain white!
Those last 5 minutes of this video... hell f***ing yeah Sierra! Keep bringing your body positive message to the world! We need your voice!
Both the stylist and the makeup artist did you DIRTY. Not a reason to get treated so poorly. I just wish they gave you better options that are less winter and clashy
Thank YOU
Agreed! Makeup was ALL WRONG!! You could of worn the makeup in this vid and it would have looked amazing! I know, too little to late and hind sight is 20/20 but just saying
OMG girl, that black dress with the belt! Absolutely gorgeous on you. I haven't finished the video yet, but if you didn't get that too, you need it in your life!
You crying towards the end of the video absolutely breaks my heart. You’re beautiful and you’re worth it.
Broke my heart too 😢
The fact that Beautycon literally tried to call your experience “fake news” is what gets me so upset. You had the footage to back up what you said! I wish more people would speak out over this so hopefully it will be rectified in the future.
my favorite was the floral dress, hope you wear it some other time
The option with the dark dress, denim jacket and moto jacket.. looks like you're bundling up for a cold day
I'm so sorry that you felt like an outcast at beauty con.Just know that you're perfect just the way you are
Totally
Please wear the first blazer to another event. It looked so GOOD!
Convinced this stylist thinks it's Winter. She gave you a long-sleeved, dark blue, velvet bodycon dress and ANOTHER bodycon dress that she put two jackets over. Lmao how cold does she think LA is?
Stylist was not good...
I didnt love the stylist… who puts a blazer, flowy tank top and mom jeans (not mom jean style, LITERAL jeans a mom would wear) together? In clashing colors, too! Yes those colors COULD work, but it would have to be perfect in every other way for those to look good and different
@@elisa9992 I agree but actually, fun fact: mom jeans weren't originally called that. They earned their name because the young people who originally wore the style in the 80s became moms and just continued to wear them. So technically mom jeans are jeans that moms wear.
@@duck6100 there has to be some generation of moms that wear them but… the moms i see today (40’s to 50’s in age) dont wear the now trendy mom jeans
@@elisa9992 yeah haha obviously the name didn't come from every mom ever wearing the jeans 😭. The jeans were first popular in the 80s and young people then would wear them. Those same people became moms and lots of them continued to wear the jeans hence they became known as mom jeans. So what I was saying is that mom jeans aren't just jeans that young people wear since they were popularised in millennials by older women wearing them. These women will be in their 40s/50s now. I don't know if they still wear them but like I'm not giving you my opinion, I'm telling you the fact about how they got their name.
Important to consider is the fact that mom jeans aren't really trendy anymore, they reached their peak re-popularity in the mid-2010s. You don't really see many people in them anymore apart from older millenials so I imagine the older women who wore them first also grew out of the style after a while and that's why you haven't seen many of them. Also it will depend on where you live and how fashion forward the place is. I distinctly remember a time in my life when older women (I say older but there were only in their 30s) would exclusively wear those jeans but I'm from a fairly big city.
The white blazer dress looked amazing on you 😍 I wish you would’ve picked that outfit for beautycon
I’ve recently lost a lot of weight and honestly, the thing that has shocked me the most is the difference in how I am being treated by other people. Why do others deem me more worthy of respect and attention now? It makes me really sad because I was just as kind, funny, cute before. And you are so wonderful. You and your content is very important and kindness and love is worth so much more than a certain look that will inevitably fade away with time. Kindness and realness is the new beautiful! The rest is just fluff ❤️❤️❤️
I know how you feel. I put on weight recently and am losing it again and people do really treat me differently. I felt invisible overweight but when I’m in shape, it’s the opposite and people notice me. I think it’s partly because people are superficial and partly because when you eat healthy and exercise, you show the world that you love and take care of yourself. Whereas when you’re out of shape and overweight, it shows the world the opposite. I think we just subconsciously must pick up on that and thus treat people who love and care for themselves with more respect then those who clearly don’t have the same will power and work ethic. It’s sad though because you don’t know what someone is going through in life that is causing them to neglect themselves. I think that weight problems can be more of an emotional/mental obstacle than a physical one.
@@ellag5151 what makes you spill such prejudice and hate about fat people? Your comment is appalling, how you first sympathize, but then start giving this fatphobic bs.
@@ellag5151 Putting on weight and being big doesn't necessarily correlate to self neglect and poor health. People assume that, yes, but that's because of ignorance and bias. A lot of skinny people eat just as much junk food and don't exercice just like their fat counterparts.
It's real though people have done tests like that before where they wear a fat suit in public and get treated differently. It's pretty awful how much looks can influence people even strangers interactions with you. With that said I am losing weight, but that's more so for my health than anything when you start aging the weight really DOES start to have some negative consequences, but still being heavier shouldn't be an excuse for people to throw politeness out the window.
@@kgal1298 I'm not saying it's not real, I've witnessed it myself. I'm saying that some fat people are unhealthy and put their health at risk with bad habits. Some are healthy and fat. But they're treated like crap regardless because people don't really care about health when they make comments. Strangers who aren't your doctor have no way of knowing if you're healthy by looking at you, and being rude and disrespectful won't make you skinnier or healthier.
The last portion of this video was so hard to watch. I felt that on a emotional level. It really showcases what happens in the beauty community and social media. As well as why so many people as children and adults grow to have self esteem issues if they don't meet a certain ideal of what beauty is suppose to be. I personally always struggled with it myself.
Well said... And I wholeheartedly AGREE!!!
Why is she covering you up in jackets and blazers in August?
"I love blazers though. Like I love love love love love..." @4:28
Also, just because it's warm outside, doesn't mean it's going to be warm inside!
I love how everyone is avoiding the real reason the stylist is covering her up. The "stylist" doesn't actually embrace curves.
@@briarrose29 I know what u mean.
I was asking myself that very same question...
Your message is SO POWERFUL!!!! Keep doing exactly what you're doing! So many women need to hear the words you are saying. And you do it in a way that is so relatable and fun and light hearted. I'm new to your channel and have honestly been binge-watching, but I think you just won my heart! You are so so brave and are in turn empowering other women like me! You rock!!!

So hard to see you cry, but what a POWERFUL message you have!! I need you to know that when I pull up CZcams and see your videos, I see myself, and that means everything to me! I think you’re incredible and please don’t ever stop doing what you’re doing! Praying for you ❤️❤️❤️
Watching the part where you read your notes brought me to tears. You’re an inspiration to so many people, myself included, and to see you treated that way is heartbreaking. But I know you’ll keep spreading your amazing message and showing people that size doesn’t matter it’s the way you treat yourself and others that matters most.
I am a 51 year old woman and you made me cry. You are a beautiful young woman who has a shine that emanates from inside you!! Keep shining!!! I love your channel, it's one of my favourites!!!!
I appreciate you still posting this even though it didn’t go to plan. Although there wasn’t a positive reaction from beautycon during or after, I appreciate you taking this experience as a boost in inspiration/motivation instead of letting it pull you down.
You took a horrible experience and handled it so well and you should be nothing but proud. Big hugs, high five and cheers to watching you slay some more videos in the future!!
Why did this stylist choose winter clothing
Nicole Monique a lot of stylists are shills for brands so she's probably using Sierras platform to show the new fall/winter stuff rather than the current which is basically over in terms their sales
Nicole Monique a lot of venues like that tend to be cold. That may have been one reason. She could also push the sleeves up if needed and the fabric didn’t look super thick.
I'm so glad you decided to speak up as well, you are beautiful inside out! You are such an inspiration! Don't ever stop being you, you help give me confidence to be okay with my body the it is but also work towards being a better version of it. I love you and randomly stumbling upon your channel was absolutely what I needed in my life!!
I could not believe how Beautycon handled this. Even if they unintentionally allowed this to happen to you/others, and tried their hardest to be inclusive and value diversity, they still need to be open to listening to how people actually experience the event. Being defensive isn't cute, and I'm glad you stayed so positive throughout the entire situation. I think we can all relate to a time when we felt out of place and unappreciated, but it's so sad for me to see this continuing in 2019 and among adults nonetheless. You're awesome Sierra and this video just emphasizes the importance of content like yours.
Sierra, your NOT the only one! Similar situations have happened to Loey Lane and Raw Beauty Kristi to name just a couple. Maybe not the same event but similar situations in the beauty community. You should talk to them. I love you and your absolutely Gorgeous!! This needs to be addressed! Stay strong and positive. Your tears broke my heart because this is such a real issue.
That would be an amazing podcast panel!
I agree that would be an amazing podcast!
Do you remember what video Kristi talked about that in?
Not all hero’s wear capes ....... I love you and your channel. You are an inspiration. Get it girl!
This touched me deeply. I wholeheartedly understand your feelings. An enormous hug to you! You are an inspiration to those of us that don't fill the mold that this ruthless industry has been pushing since it's dawn.
If you at 880k are treated like this, I can't imagine how they treat the smaller influencers
They get treated great if they "have the influencer look", which it total bullshit.
It really bothered me that if someone had the "LOOK" but 1000 followers they were treated so well... But someone with an actual Engaged Active following was treated MORE than poorly...worse than Badly..
For. SHAME
I really liked the first white blazer outfit. Wish you would've chosen that.
Sierra you're truly amazing. I'm so proud of you, your attitude and your message. Thank you for your bravery, honesty and for doing what you do!
You are a true inspiration. Never stop shining so bright, never let anyone dim your light. You are doing amazing things not only for yourself but for everyone and anyone who needs a little confidence. Thank you sincerely!
It looks like you had a blast when getting styled, you deserve that. :)
Sierra, I normally never post on your videos but I knew I had to. You have inspired me to realize my body is not something to be ashamed of. If I choose to work out, it should be to get healthy and not to hit some ideal number of beauty. I also thank you for all of your video reviews, they help me to find clothes that fit!!
YOU ARE A HERO - thank you for being you, sharing positive content and being so, so authentic ❤️ I have two daughters (3.5 and 1 yo) and I am so scared of the world they will be growing up in and the social media pressures. Creators like you are making a difference and giving me hope for a inclusive, safe world for them. thank you!!!! ❤️🙌🏼
Damn, I'm just seeing this almost a full year later. I'm so broken hearted for how you''ve been treated. You're better than this, i really hope you don't let this shake you too much because it's not worth it.
So proud of you for being open about this and doing it in such a respectful way!
The beauty community is viewed as inclusive in actuality the community is diverse and that is mistaken as inclusive. They are 2 very different things. Thank you for being inclusive!
I am so proud of you for using your platform to talk about something so important. Even though it is horrible that you had to go through that, the situation made you so much stronger, which empowers me to love myself and support other women.
I love the way you responded to this whole negative experience. You are someone I would encourage my teen daughters to emulate in that you told the truth and spoke out, but used it as an inspiration to keep moving forward! ❤️
As someone who is getting an MA in journalism and working towards writing brave and personal articles, your content always inspires and amazes me as it is honest, consistent, well researched, and truly innovative. Unsubscribing to CZcamsrs who told me to lose weight, and subscribing to your channel, has truly helped me in feeling validated in myself as I am. I hope moving forward I can speak as openly as you do on the topic of body image and inspire others as you have inspired me. Thank you so much.
Big hugs, Sierra! I’m 62 years young, and your channel has helped this “senior citizen” accept growing older gracefully. I’ve decided to no longer color my hair or stress about looking old. It is a part of life. I just wanted you to know that as young as you are, you have influenced people well beyond your age group. Keep doing what you do...it is necessary. And thanks for being YOU!
Yessss! Age is beautiful, be so so proud and flaunt it, I will! I'm 25 and have 3 grey hairs that I actively show off cause they're cool and represent maturity.
Your profile photo honestly looks so gorgeous and graceful that it makes me envy you!! My mom told me she did not start to feel beautiful until she was 40 (and it kind of made 14-year-old me looking forward to reaching 40+)...it's definitely a psychological and cultural thing to relate beauty only to youth and being skinny. Every age and every body type can be beautiful as long as you embrace it and treat it with love.
oh yes. you are inspiering me to Sierra.
We could be twins lol
Bodyshape and personalatywise.
I still have a long to go to get to your level of bodyacceptence.
Please know that you are valued by us and we love you!
Thank you for continuously staying positive through discrimination and being so strong minded against discrimination. It's honestly inspiring and motivating no matter which video I watch on your channel. Every time you cry, I cry. I literally feel every ounce of emotion in this. I have experienced being various sizes ranging from 7-16, and I'm currently a size 9. I lost about 70 lbs. a few years ago at 17 years old, and although it has fluctuated, I am now at a place where I can stay stable and consistent with my weight and eating habits at 20 years old! Similar to your situation, I used to have a health condition (called insulin resistance) that caused me to gain weight no matter what exercise I did or what food I ate... So when I finally made a breakthrough, I was ecstatic. To go in the real world there would either be lots of compliments or a ridiculous amount of discrimination. Typing this comment honestly has me crying because I cannot believe how far I've come in my own body positivity/self-love journey. I hope this message reaches you that even though you're here to uplift us through your experiences, we're here for you to and appreciate all the content you release to fight what society says. Thank you Sierra Schultzzie. 💟
Stay strong Sierra! You are an absolute queen, boss lady, power woman, and all of the other possible ways I can say “strong AF girl”. Keep using your voice, keep fighting. People like you are the ones who change the world!! Love you so much! 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Holy shit that floral dress is absolutely stunning goddamn! I dont know that the dress you picked was necessarily appropriate for beautycon? Maybe more of a nighttime after party or something? I think the "Hamptons" dress was perfect, especially with a cute orange purse and some orange flats!! Oh well though, glad you felt confident in the dress you ended up picking
kylie m I loved that dress on her too! I thought it was the better choice as well. ❤️ She’s gorgeous no matter what though. ❤️
Yea I mean I wouldn't laugh at her for what she's wearing like those ppl at the event but it didn't seem very trendy or appropriate for a day event in my opinion
@@SugarSnapz I don't like the dress at all. I can tell she loved it, but I dislike everything about it... except for the colour, I guess.
Absolutely agree
Yeah ... the Hamptons dress was so much more appropriate for the season and event. That Stylist seemed a bit suck in the 90s and not in a good way. Plus she did not seem to grasp how to dress a plus sized woman, outside of the archiac minimizing fashion. It all seemed very try hard, but that was more the failures of professionals and not her fault in the least. She made their mistakes look good. IDK ... I've been in the NYC Design (Interiors & Architecture) Industry for over a decade, going to many trade shows and events, being made to feel insignificant and invisible because I do not look the part (wealthy and starved) is something I know well. I have too say that the more you try the worse the response. It's when you give zero fucks that they treat you remotely decently but never even close to equal.
I cannot believe the childishness of the beautycon staff, I think you’re such an inspiration and you’re someone I really look up to and I hope you keep doing what you’re doing!
You're such an amazing woman and you deserved to feel as special as you looked. I have been plus size my whole life and you have helped me to feel like I can be more stylish and feel confident when shopping. Dressing rooms have always been bittersweet for me, and you have help me with not having breakdown crying episodes in dressing rooms when items do not fit. You make a difference in girls everyday life and thank you for being you.
Oh my god. I know this is 3 years old, but it's absolutely heartbreaking. Well done for keeping your head held high through this.
It honestly breaks my heart to see how genuinely excited you were for beautycon.. and for them to treat you so rudely! We are all standing with you ❤️
Boycott beautycon 👍🏻
Also don’t censor and blur the people who laughed at you, expose them for the rats they are especially if they’re also influencers
Yes yes yesssssss
A Boycott is NEEDED
I think it was extremely presumptuous to assume the group was laughing at Sierra. Such a frenzy over nonsense. At some point, they just became victims and were looking for any slights against them. They both should have skipped the event and gone shopping. The "beauty community" in this case is oxymoronic
Khristina Barker that’s why we need to see the full scene unblurred
@@leen4093 The group was having a good time in their cart, and they were not engaging Sierra. I think it's safer to say that Sierra was already upset, and the group driving by laughing was just ill-timed. Whatever the case, she should have walked her ass past them with confidence.
Thank you for your beautiful message and for being honest. As someone who has struggled with weight all of my life it is so nice to have someone speaking for people like me.
Watching the last part broke my heart and resonated with me! I’m not a plus size woman but I often felt as an outsider. I have acne scars so even when I’m wearing makeup people especially at Sephora give me stares. I’m so happy I found your channel because seeing you and how you reacted to the situation gives me confidence than I’m more than enough!
You do not even have to give comments about beautycon.. It can be seen on your footage how you were treated!
My heart breaks when you cry.
oneimaginarygirl5 same here :’(
Stumbled upon your videos recently and just wanted to thank you for your honesty, levelheadedness, and for being real. Completely heartbreaking to hear about your experience but I've seen in your more recent videos how much you've grown, you're more beautiful than ever! Thanks for being such a positive role model for girls and women everywhere, we need more people like you! ❤️
This breaks my heart. Thank you for sharing and don’t let this tear you down. Keep on encouraging body positivity and keep sharing your positive messages. You are making a difference. You are a beautiful and strong woman and a great role model. Keep up the great work!
I’m so ready to throw hands with whoever laughed like that. So cruel
This kills me. I’m a bigger girl and can so relate. You’re beautiful and inspire me every day. Thank god you have a great friend like Skylar, I would’ve been a mess! Thank you for keeping it real !
This literally made me cry. So many times I felt the same way. Even from my own family. Thank you for sharing your video. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that ugliness in those people. Im proud to be subscribed to you.
You were absolutely beautiful in that dress! I'll never understand how people can belittle others like that. Stay strong! You're gorgeous inside and out girl ♡♡♡
Gingham blazer with the tube top is EVERYTHING
YES.
My favorite outfit on her by far. She can ROCK a blazer.
I feel like that dress would have been better suited for a winter event. IMO all-velvet dresses are normally for fall/winter, especially in that dark blue color.
agreed!!!!
I think the white blazer would have been perfect but an outfit change wouldn’t have changed the situation anyway
Brooke S I agree the white blazer looked better
I agree that velvet does seem to be an out-of-season choice. I would have preferred the floral maxi (tailored, of course). HOWEVER she still looked fashionable. Nothing that she wore warranted such disrespectful treatment. (Although no one should be treated like that, no matter the clothing!!)
totally agree!! i feel like she just chose that dress for the brand://
Thank you for turning a bad situation into positive motivation to keep going. You are inspiring and classy in so many ways ❤️ good wishes on your journey
Sierra, I am so sad that people would treat such an incredibly thoughtful, sincere, genuine, caring being like you that way. Really grateful that you are so open and willing to be vulnerable and share your experience with the youtube community. Please continue to share your truth- you're a great beautuber and so many people are so lucky to grow up with an inspiration like you. Keep spreading that message and loving yourself!
Omg the plaid jacket, cropped shirt and jeans looked soooo good on you!
I love, love, love the black turtleneck dress with belt, chunky chain necklace and silver heels. (option 3) You look like you felt amazing in that outfit!!!
You’re such a sweet person! Love your channel and Instagram. Thank you for using your platform to share body positivity. I am the same size as you and I can’t imagine how intimidating it must be to be an influencer in the “beauty” space while staying so kind and positive! Keep going girl 💪🏼
