      Thank you for your feedback! We set out to design an incredibly light-weight scooter that didn't compromise on performance or comfort. The KQi Air X and Air do have extra wide handlebars, and a wide deck and wide 9.5" tires that will also ensure riding comfort.

      @@user-xz9js2um9n Our engineering team were focused on designing a scooter that is impossibly light while still packed with both performance and comfort features. At only 25.8lbs (KQi Air X) it's almost 13lbs/6kg lighter than the Apollo with comparable top speed, range and 9.5" tires. It also has a front disc brake that compared to a drum brake, has superior stopping power. Ultimately we're targeting those who want superior portability with an ultra light scooter that also delivers great performance, comfort and an awesome carbon fiber design :)

    The KQi3 Pro is a pretty solid ride. I’m assuming that everything is similar with the KQi Air based on released power specifications. I especially like the fact it’s using 21700 LG cells, even though the pack is a bit smaller (451.2Wh versus 486Wh). It’ll probably maintain top speed longer as the battery depletes, and will have less sag which will prevent premature voltage cut-off.

    Scooters are slim but with non folding handlebars they are as wide or almost as wide as a bike and this makes storage more awkward. I do have an etwow (Uscooters) sport scooter and even though handlebars are thin anyway they fold, it can’t be beaten on portability (1 metre long, 15cm wide when folded!) but it seems solid handlebars are what everyone is going for and calling them ultra portable due to weight. The thumb throttle is the first point of failure on both, but the warranty can get you sorted, so keep the box.
    I've since upgraded to the Apollo City Pro 2023 dual motor, but the build quality is just not the same as with NIU, and I was hoping NIU would come out with a dual motor to compete with it.
    Still, for short rides, or stowaway riding, the City Pro is too large, clunky, and heavy, so I rely on my NIU scooters, and the Air/AirX kinda does that perfectly, so maybe I'll retire my KQi2 Pro and KQi3 Max, and settle with this as a premium, lightweight, stash and stow scooter to compliment my City Pro.

    • @niumobility
      @niumobility Před 9 měsíci +1

      Yes there are a few reasons. 1. Complex manufacturing: Producing high-quality carbon fiber involves a series of complex processes and techniques. This includes converting polypropylene or other polymer fibers into carbon fiber and then subjecting them to multiple steps such as heat treatment, carbonization, and graphitization. These processes require precise control and specialized equipment, which adds to the cost.
      2. Raw material costs: The raw materials for carbon fiber are polypropylene or polyacrylonitrile. The production and processing of these materials also consume significant resources. Additionally, high-purity carbon fiber typically requires high-quality raw materials, further increasing costs.
      3. Limited production Capacity: Manufacturing carbon fiber is an intricate process, and only a few companies worldwide have the capability to produce high-quality carbon fiber on a large scale. Limited production capacity contributes to scarcity in supply, driving up prices.
      4. Research and innovation Costs: Research and innovation in carbon fiber materials demand substantial financial investments. Companies continually strive to improve the performance, reduce weight, and enhance production efficiency of carbon fiber. These research and development costs are also reflected in the material’s price.
      5. Market demand: Carbon fiber is use extensively in aerospace, automotive industries, sports equipment, shipbuilding, etc. Therefore, there is significant demand in the market. Supply and demand dynamics can influence prices, with prices rising when supply is tight.
