I had the opportunity to try out the KQi Air at the IFA trade fair in Berlin. It's a great scooter that is really extremely light. Nevertheless, it has comparable features to the KQi3 MAX. The deck is nice and wide. The acceleration is great. I like the half twist throttle grip. It is a very well made and well thought out scooter.
Totally agree! Premium product.
Hello I live in Lakewood Co and since I broke my back years ago I can’t lift heavy stuff so this scooter would be perfect because it’s light and seems to works great. Now to save money. Thanks guys for the great review
Stay warm and stay safe!
This is what I’ve been looking for in my plane. Light and just gets me to the hotel or rental car. Thanks!!!
Great video man ❤
Freshly charged you gained a new sub I gotta isinwheel s9max scooter and love it
Be great if this had rear turn signals on the fender and a decent drum break as it’s easier for maintenance and adjustment. Also be good if the air X model had a 500 watt motor, as it’s fully carbon fiber it would still probably be the same weight as the standard air. Cant knock this first iteration though from Niu. Great looking scooter and nice to be original with the carbon fiber, twist throttle as standard too. As always a great review guys!
It’s interesting looking, but I just can’t see doing it for the price. A lighter electric scooter was the first thing I bought PEV wise, half this price, and I went ebike after that, and then discovered what I’d buy instead of this, an InMotion V8S EUC. I’ve subsequently bought a faster EUC, but I still use the V8S all the time, because it’s around the weight of this scooter, but more compact and will outperform it and I bought the V8S for significantly less than the price of this scooter. For errand stuff or short commuting, mixed mode stuff, I just don’t see how I’d do a $1,000+, 20 mph scooter. People who are utilitarian commuting on a scooter will do something way cheaper that weighs 4 or 5 pounds more or something a bit slower that weighs similar. That price is getting you into 30-40 mph scooter territory.
I play carbon fiber guitars. They are beautiful!
This is a beautiful scooter to look at.
Great review.
I was considering this one, but went with the Uscooters GT Sport.
I wouldn't mind paying $300 more for the carbon fiber and other features, but that top speed is quite limiting.
Right on
Super unfortunate they couldn't put a more powerful motor. It's not likely to go up more than very minor grades.
My only concern with this scooter is its potentially brittle frame like a carbon fiber bike. Magnesium is known to fail catastrophically like carbon fiber and those microfractures can begin even with a seemingly inocuous nudge to the frame, especially in the locking areas.
It needs a long term review with extensive, realistic daily usage before I even think of owning one. Otherwise, I'd rather go with the Segway Ninebot F2 Pro. May be heavier but still portable enough with significantly more power and range.
I wish the top end speed was 8 miles faster, 20mph is fine for just a comfortable cruising speed, but the added boost to get out of situations is a safety feature. Even if it’s for 5 seconds. The uscooter GT speed is almost perfect, but the solid tires makes it an honest speed limiter. Don’t want to go beyond 28 mph. This NIU has such great potential. A dual motor version under 50 lbs is the future iteration.
And also the uscooters are all front wheel drive which is a total turn-off. Rear wheel drive is best.

Hello, what was the km/hr on the hill? thanks
I preordered it and still no news =(
How much is the head tube diameter?
I had a KQI 2 pro but it was too heavy so I just bought a Segway E22 for $400 👍👌
Unlike the One Wheels this scooter here is legit! Love it and great review 💪🏼🛴
You didn't mention a word on the range of the scooter. does this really travel 50 km in one charge?
Why the wheels on the packing have the very nice silver fan blade painting, but the real wheels no?
How's the suspension, does it have any hard to tell.
Thanks for your feedback here. The KQi Air series don't come with suspension. However, the KQi Air comes with 9.5*2.3in (241*58mm) pneumatic tires (tubeless tire). The pneumatic tire is popular because it absorbs the impact between the vehicle and the road, reducing the bumps and jolts. The tires are black in color and have lines, patterns, and small vent spews to prevent slipping.
@niumobility this is a very good first product and a refreshing take on lightweight scooters, imo for it to be more versatile it definitely needs some suspension as escooters become very dangerous when hitting pot holes without suspension; the same carbon fibre frame, suspension , dual motor or above 500w s motor, under 35 lbs and it becomes a serious lightweight commuter scooter that caters to most riders. I am excited with the Air’s design ethos but I’ll probably wait for a second gen
Wish it was able to go 25+ mph and go up steep hills with ease.
The website says 46.5 in height? What’s up with these newer scooters not having extended handle bars.. I’m 6ft tall at 40 inches high this is just too short
Thanks for posting your feedback here. I hope the following content is helpful.
The NIU KQi Air is designed for flat pavement road, steps not higher than 0.4 in (1cm), and road gap not exceeding 1.2 in (3 cm) and suitable for riders of up to 265 lbs (120 kg).
For your safety, the detailed riding requirements are listed as follows:
1. The recommended height is 3'11" to 6'6"(120 to 200cm)
2. The recommended age is over 14 years old;
I was gonna buy Unagi but didn’t think it was worth the price. This is roughly the same but more at the same cost. I’m returning my rental and getting this instead.
Bro what are you guys doing with all those scooters? You guys look like you have a ton of unused scooters? Wanna sell any?
What if you lose the NEC Card?
Use your phone as a key and/or program another card as a new key.
i wish scooter makers would realize how 350 watts is too small. we need enough acceleration to not get killed by cars.
I think its time to see carbon fiber emplomented on EUCs
Have you guys discussed their repairs yet? its a nightmare and makes it not worth buying
SUSPENSION?
Did anyone mention price ?
It's $1,400 which seems wildly overpriced for that speed. I know it's a pretty well built scooter but that's insane to me.
@@TGreen0381that’s for the Air X. The one in this vid is $1,050 rn
Thanks... $1,400 is a Lot of dough for a 20 mph scooter, (but it is Carbon Fibre)... However, I'm looking for at least 25 - 30 mph. I don't like looking Foolish and being overtaken by push bikes !.. I will probably get another ETWOW, or a lightweight dual motor, like The Dualtron Popular
The links show $1,050. We all knew Nui would put it on sale.
The top link sold out in record time... The Best Buy option is Pre Order.
Both prices are showing $1,049.00
What if a scooter thief actually watches freshly charged and see this know they know to just pick the scooter up 😂
Are you a scooter thief?
@freshlycharged No, but I am a subscriber 👀😂
I hope there'll be a lightweight e-scooter and can go up to 40 to 50 mph!
im no longer using Dualtron but i still choose my my very very very 1st ex-scooter Dualtron Spider 1 (with black buttons) as the LIGHTEST AND MOST POWERFUL" in its class NO SCOOT COMES CLOSE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Never mind $1400+ ouch!!!!
okay, but what's it made out of though?
Thanks for your feedback here. We hope the following content is helpful.
The KQi Air X frame is built with 100% carbon fibre. The KQi Air frame is built with 70% carbon fibre and 30% magnesium. Hence, the KQi Air and KQi Air X are only 25.6 lb (11.7 kg) and 26.2 lbs (11.9 kg) prospectively, which makes KQi Air series a great choice for teens and women to maneuver and handle.
Note: With the excellent material, the KQi Air series ensure the real max payload can reach up to 265 lbs (120kg).
@@niumobility are you guys flipping the sarcasm back on me? cause if you are, well played
Yes, they are. Don't buy from them. They sell carbon fiber, magnesium alloy scooters to leech from you with their brittle and fragile frames. Trust me, these frames will fail catastrophically like a carbon fiber bike and that starts from a nudge to the neck area of the scooter where the cracks will develop overtime until it will give in without warning. @@rileyhall9320
You better off with the Segway Ninebot F2 Pro unless the Niu KQI Air makes an aluminum neck and stem version to make it more durable while only gaining 5 more pounds. Bigger wheels, more powerful motor, longer range, much cheaper. More weight but absolutely worth it for safety and longevity.
No suspensions I guess
Thanks for posting valuable suggestion here. We have recorded your feedback and forwarded it to our relevant department. They will surely take it into consideration.
@@niumobility Without suspension its practilly unrideable for heavyier riders, u get neck and back pains on road bumps or the easiest little, its the same with many brands. Build quality and carbon fiber makes it stand out, but without any suspension even on cheaper electric scooters its a no go go, inmotions climber is another example of a great product but no suspension at all and xiami models are the same, or else I would buy this instantly. And I see online people complain on the screen aswell, scratches - hard to see - such a great product if it wasent for minor issues that can be updated easilly.
700 watt peak mine is 700 watt peak and it gose alot faster than this i get 30mph from mine this is very slow
Another good review here of the Niu Air vs the Unagi Voyager, E-twow, and KQI Max

Thanks for the support!
Air conditioner
1k is to much
You need to go way way lower
Useless alarm and lock. People will just carry it away.
54.6 volts 20mph what a joke lmao
20 mph on a carbon fiber scooter is a joke?
In 2023!!!! It’s so pathetic that designers can’t or just don’t design a clever,smart, & well functioning e-scooter!!!!
No matter what brand it is!!!
NONE OF THEM REACHED THE 9 out of 10 yet that I know!!!
COME ON SOMEBODY WAKE UP.
Trash scooter just get the Moto tech $600 scooter and disable the loop wire and you go 20 mph
Carbon fiber and magnesium alloy... your trash is my treasure!😂
Thanks for posting your feedback here.
We also have KQi3 Max whaich is equipped with a 450 Watts brushless direct current motor and an air-cooled battery pack of 608.4 Wh (13 Ah). The motor is in the rear wheel, which is better for traction. With a maximum engine output power of 108W, the scooter can reach to 19.9 mph (32 kph) (US), travel up to 40.68 miles (65 km) and climb up to 15%. Built for practical last-mile transportation and entertainment mobility, the KQi3 Max gets you to your destination while you enjoy the moment.
Note: Due to the stricter regulation in Europe, the scooter is limited to 15.5 mph (25 kph). And in Germany the local authority regulates that the maximum speed of electric scooters must be within 12.4 mph (20 kph).
Niu is a terrible company. My scooter got stolen and they refuse to help me out. Don't take a risk on them
How is it there fault you lose your scooter 😭
@@Ovoutex the delivery company had made an error and the only way to prove that is if Niu starts an investigation. Every week they are telling me they sent my question to 'the relevant team'. Yet the 'relevant team' never contacts me
all these buzzwords like air, carbon fiber etc and the final weight ends up the same as a basic xiaomi e scooter...
