Honestly, I don't trust exclusive early access reviews because you know they were told to shill or they'll lose access next time something comes out. We all know how this goes, some "reviewers" get early access, they shill for whatever it is they watched/played, product comes out and is nothing like the "reviewers" described it to be, and then the cycle repeats. The trick no longer works once everyone knows about it.
They don't need to be told, it's one of those things that goes without saying. The same thing has been happening with movie reviewers for years and years.

Heck I would rather watch Cosmonaut Variety Hour’s rant on Rise of Skywalker then watching that mess movie again but I moved on instead of keep hating on it like Geeks and Gamers and a bunch of racist people.
The only thing I'm noticing in their reviews (with the exception of one) is that they refuse to bring up any concerns or real critique for the rest of the show. Which tells me that these reviews are coming from fans who just consume, consume, consume ANY kind of Star Wars or are already from the tiny fanbase of the high republic. No general audience, no skeptics, no-one from the opposing side of Disney Star Wars, no moderate Star Wars fans, or hardcore Star Wars purist fans of the George Lucas era. But I'm amazed that nobody in these mentioned the word "diversity," "equity," or "Inclusion." It's almost as if they were told to specifically avoid mentioning those DEI words.

I really think Star Wars does not really do that well when you don't have Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and the rest of the team. Those characters are like Superman and Batman to the Star Wars IP. And Vader is a really good villain. All you really need for Star Wars is the first three movies and then some video games and comics and novels are fine and just let it be.

Myself yeah I'm hearing a ton of things I don't associate with Star Wars, Murder Mystery...mot the first two words I'd use for a Star Wars project. Kill Bill vibes, well the show runner did use that as part of the pitch but more words I wouldn't pair up with Star Wars. Nior, not even close. Other than the choreography for fights that about it, but even in the bits I've seen if I want a martial arts fight I have DBZ, Dragon Ball, Naruto, pretty much anime to fill that vibe or Hong Kong action movies not Star Wars, end of the day this could have been an original high concept fantasy show and I think people might care more about it.

Good point regarding audience score. Eventually companies like Disney and IP like Rings of Power, Witcher, Doctor Who and so on will alienate so much of their audience that the only ones left are the niche "modern" audience and those without taste that swallow anything with the brand name whole. This results in a completely skewed audience score due to such a biased sample of remaining viewers. It's now far better to just find reviewers outside the industry who don't have a conflict of interest than to look at aggregate scores on RT from "critics" who are only towing their corporate, ideological, and political lines.
Disney can suck it. I'll never watch another crappy Star Wars show or movie or whatever shit they put out. Disney; destroyer of franchises.

Exactly, it's not that I don't like marvel or star wars anymore. I'm just completely indifferent and have zero interest in anything after Endgame, and have a new appreciation for the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Episode III is actually pretty epic.
Look at the voracity for the Alien Romulus trailer in comparison. Will this Acolyte trailer reach 13m views? Granted that's nearly 2 months old now, but Acolyte? Not bloody likely!

When the majority of the "positive" reviews point to stunt work and practical effects.......those things don't make a movie or series good. It's the writing and directing and acting that make the product good. If I want to see a movie with crazy stunts.....I'll watch Crank.

That’s how I feel, annoyed but try to stay unbiased. No interest in this show until they released The Trinity Jedi fight scene and thought, wait a minute, this is actually a really good combo.

It would be hilarious if the show is actually really good. It won't be and it would still bomb because they tanked the franchise and the marketing is awful but it would be funny if it pulled an Andor and subverted our expectations.

Perri's was entirely studio talking points. the whole what it means to be a force user has been a consistent talking point. Didn't read a single review comment about storytelling, character development, plot, all the things that make a show actually worth watching. There are so many characters being introduced and places that it's hard to believe the show can do much world building and character development in only 4 episodes let alone 8. who can use the force isn't about racism, it's about keeping people closeted. bad maga jedi forced the sith into the closet and bad maga jedi prevented anyone from engaging in sexual identity, I mean dabbling in the force, who didn't abide by strict maga jedi scripture. So all those beings who wanted to openly sexually identify, I mean dabble with the force, were forced to stay in the closet, marginalized, or killed off. Clearly there are force sensitive beings who just want to get married, I mean dabble here and there for their own benefit. A gang of force sensitive beings using jedi mind trick to rob banks would be cool.. star wars ocean's eleven.
