    Again another mod that gained you 25% more top end speed. These videos are awesome little experiments that can allow those starting off have an actual idea of what to expect when the do this or that. Not to mention you are doing off the shelf vs homemade. Something everyone can replicate vs watching a mechanic of 20 years hog out their their intake and exhaust, replace valve guides, Drill out their sponsors piston's oiler ring grooves, fly cut 1mm larger valves, turbos, ecu's ,so on and so forth. Props to you BLack66 for reminding me of almost 10 years ago XD when i started this hobby, now a days people are getting to crazy for the new people to get into the scene.

If you change 1 thing its gonna effect another so you will have to compensate for your changes

    We're running a 120 jet on our flat track mini. It's definitely popping when you let off throttle. This knock off mikuni does not have the needle valve adjustment clip. You think a 130 would be ok? That's all I have at the moment.

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Před 2 lety +1

      If you are running a VM22 knock-off, it has a clip and needle inside the slide for adjustment. At least all my VM22 carbs have an adjustment. You must be running a different style or brand carb. When you let off the throttle, it runs on the idle circuit only so it gets lean and Causes a pop. That's ok as long as it runs well under throttle. You can get it to go away by richening up those circuits A 130 could be ok. It's hard for me to know for sure because everyone lives at different altitudes with different engine combos. So everyone's jetting could be different. I would just try it out and see how it runs.

  • @JNC1973
    @JNC1973 Před 2 lety

    There is something majorly wrong with my bike. I just put a brand new non epa carb on it along with the mod2 cam and 18 pound springs go to test ride it and even floored it could barely move me with the slightest incline. I'm guessing it has to be the gearing on it cause i got a 44 tooth sprocket on the read and in front i believe there is either a 11 or a 12 tooth sprocket. I knew the smaller the rear the less get up and go it would be but i didn't expect it to be this bad to wear it would barely go at all. I don't think i got it over 10 mph. So i'm think maybe trying leaving the 44 tooth on the read and changing out the 12 tooth in front to a lower tooth like 9 tooth maybe and seeing how that rides. If that don't work i'll just lose the 44 tooth and put back the stock 50 tooth. And if that don't work then something else entirely must be wrong with it. I did accidently rip a small corner of the side cover gasket when putting in the mod 2 cam and have not changed the torn gasket yet with a new one but that wouldn't really cause a huge power loss like that i wouldn't think ? also valve cover gasket is not the best either so i got a new set of gaskets i will be adding soon. And the stock bolts that came on mini bike just suck in general cause several of them broke in half while i was tightening them down. Broke a valve cover bolt, broke both front of gas tank bolts/studs and broke the chain adjuster bolt next to rear tire. All broke just from tightening them lol. Like what the hell man ? Made in China !!! ;)

    • @jtaylor9355
      @jtaylor9355 Před 2 lety

      Ive never broke a single one off of the many engine ive torn down and put together. Try to run the nuts or bolts up flush and then a 1/4 to 1/2 turn more. Unless you torquing bolts like the the head or side cover which ha e torque spec they suppose to be tightend to. And if your running a 12 front with a 44 rear that gives you a 3.6 to 1 gear ratio. Thats way to high. Go back to the 50 tooth rear and a 10tooth front or 8 tooth if your in the 200lb plus club.
