Depends on angel and how you hit the water, as if you go in feet first in a well made suit you split the water instead of taking it on full force, if you hit it flat stomach first you have a much smaller chance of surviving.
No joke, I was hoping Mercy would made a cameo in this one especially during that hospital part.

No she's in somewhere around the Middle East I think (based off of her cameo in the Christmas Comic as she's reading a letter in an arid place) but I'm positive that they'll give Mercy some love in the future- she is one of the OG Heroes.

They never said she's not a Star Craft player, they said she's not exclusively a StarCraft 2 Pro. Meaning while she certainly played the game, she's played other games professionally. The stated reason for this 'clarification' was that they wanted the games she played pro to offer a skillset closer to that of piloting her mekka. It had nothing to do with 'removing' StarCraft from her repertoire. Just focusing her skillset.

That's what I said. The change in the lore was simply about her primary skill set (the game(s) she DID go pro with) being something closer to piloting/shooting, rather than RTS. She still played StarCraft, and was still famously good at it, and it is still one of her favorite games, even if she didn't play it professionally. One just needs to listen to her interactions with characters in Heroes of the Storm to get an immediate sense of how important that game is to her.
+NinEldermoot If I have to pick a game for her to be a Pro at that would make sense for the skills necessary to pilot a Meka, I would say Virtual On.
@@TradeChat He also clarified in a blue post what he meant: that originally she was promoted as a SC2 pro as a fun nod before the game's release but it was never meant to be canon. She excels in the game but she isn't pro and rather is better at some other, unknown game.
It never made sense for Dva to be conscripted due to being a pro SC gamer, you don't get mecha skillz from a RTS lol
It's a common misconception that Jeff Kaplan is the one who changed D.VA's background, but it was actually Michael Chu (Lead "Writer" for Overwatch) who retconned her to no longer be a Starcraft World Champion, although she apparently does play the game.

I cried on this. I cried because D’Va was such a hero that she self sacrificed assuming but not truly knowing she’d survive the overload. Fell into the ocean and obviously had injuries. Still positive and upbeat and getting ready to do it again.

Matthew Madruga Starcraft is a game in the overwatch universe. In overwatch blizzard basically turned into Disney that's why they have an amusement park.
Are there any overwatch skins that are related to blizzard? no, but the blizzard world map and all the other blizzard-related things in overwatch seem to favor my point. while I don't have a vide of Kaplan saying anything about it (cause I don't keep that shit on hand) I'm sure its out there.
you claim that Kaplan said there all in the same universe do you have proof of that? if not then there is literally no other proof for your claim..

Blizzardworld is a real location in Overwatch, so therefore Blizzard games(sans Overwatch) exist within Overwatch.
HotS isn't canon to any universe(but it's own), and Jeff hasn't said anything that would imply that either.

I think they could've pulled it off without detracting from the moment much, just make it more like a action hero one-liner than the boast it is in the games. Just this morning I watched a video titled 100 greatest one-liners: Before the Kill.

That newscaster is probably just covering for Hana, but a broken left arm, a broken left leg, a brace which suggests that her right arm's badly sprained, a bandaged nick on her face and a generally banged-up right leg do _not_ constitute getting out of a fight "without a scratch". :-D
People often see her as a cute superstar but they dont see that at heart, she is a warrior. She bears scars inside and out for her country and she isnt afraid to die for it.
I loved this short! D.Va is my favorite hero and it was great to get some awesome background without crying my eyes out!

Ok, I've actually been to Busan. I'm interested in seeing how they futurize it for Overwatch. Nice reaction vid! And, I agree, finally one that's not saddening!
part of me wonders if the other pilots are dead, not on leave... because of the flashback, and her insistence on nobody else would come... and them saying DVa got out without a scratch (but was pretty messed up) and saying she is taking time off, just like the news said for her other pilots...
We see D.VA with the other MEKA pilots at a press conference on the news. The other pilots are noticeably injured.

She said no one else would make it on time. From what we could see the mechs would be there in like five minutes .. and the other team members would have had to get there, get in the building, get in their mechs, and then race out. They had nowhere near the time to help unless they were on base.
D.Va flatlined! The scene with the two docs look at the guy on the right (7:02) pulling away the defibrillators. Damn man! Cool vid though but damn.
Contrary to popular belief, a defibrilator does nothing to a flatlined (asystole) heart. It only helps to recover from irregular heart rhythm (ventricular fibrilation or tachycardia).
The enemy of DVA is Overwatch version of North Korean.

D.Va was relatable the moment I saw that she doesn't mind simple food. Okay, I'm still not as much a gearhead or soldier as she is, but...
This was one of the better done ones with the battle scenes and seeing the side of D.Va where she feels that she carries the world on her shoulders is great character development cause we don't often see that side of her

This felt like Evangelion takes place in Korea. You got mechs. You got pilots. You got angels(omnics) that come at set time and look different.
This is how I interpret the short. Hana is being used by the news media and the government as a symbol of hope and peace to satiate and calm the masses. They arrange for her to be in the spotlight, and take advantage of her completely by doing so. Hana is fond of Dae hyun because he's the only one who is 100% genuine with her. He tells her things no one else would "Yeah, and you almost killed yourself!" "Stop putting it all on yourself. It's okay to ask for help." He doesn't worship her like everyone else does, and she appreciates that dearly. In fact, I believe Hana has a lot of insecurities that are revealed in this short. She doesn't rely on her own skill to win a race, she modifies the hover board to win. The news reported that she was the only one to remain functional after the previous fight with the enemy robots (what were they called?), but it probably wasn't because she had performed the best (in fact it's heavily implied that she made a huge mistake during the fight). Also by the fact that she was obsessed in making sure her meka was perfect and didn't go on leave are more signs of insecurity. I think Hana is actually addicted to the risk of conflict and winning competition. Notice her expression when she was launching her Meka? That's not normal for someone who is putting their life on the line in a war fight. I'm certain she used gaming to overcome her insecurities, and she never could stop herself, not even now as she fights in real life threatening conflict. She needs to win to believe in herself, and Dae hyun wants to make her feel validated and secure without relying on her victories to do so (of course he has some very strong insecurities as well). It's really an interesting relationship - she makes him feel insecure by her success in the way she deals with insecurity, while he tries to feel secure by having her listen to his advice and become secure through him. She kinda has the advantage over him, though, as she knows the the glitz and glamour food is actually terrible, and she keeps him in the dark with how badly he wants to dine where the heroes dine.

I think they are hinting at one of the other meka pilots becoming a hero cause there showing off the other meka pilots in the new map and this cinematic hints at them

oh, I see some new Dva skins in the near future. I like the look with the hat and jacket. The new enemies look wicked. Hope we see some of them in the Busan map. And now we see how she learned to do her Ult.
What I really would love to see is more of that battle in the rainstorm...it looked super intense and I'd much rather have seen that than what we got. Though I really did still enjoy this cinematic!
This was by far my favorite animated short. D.va is definitely my favorite hero. I love how determined and independent she is.

But in this short, I was not close to tears, tbh. The Bastion- and Mei-shorts killed it for me.
They took out the mecha squads and not dva's out of comision for mounths and the city is relaxed and wont see Another attack comming and when they do attack there's nobody to defend. But i assume there's a few more mecha pilots?
