I feel sometimes content creators are forgetting what budget means to the average person. When a laptop costs rent for some people imo it's not budget.

100% agree, I see it all too often with phones, TVs, laptops, PC components. My 4k 47" TV, TCL, I got as ex-display with no feet or remote for £200, plus buying feet and remote else where, about £20. That's what I call budget! But honest, I'm sick of content creators being so out of touch with the reality of budget devices for the average person, makes me not want to watch, and especially reduces the trust I have in the content creator.

@@manf7732 I hear you, 100%. Just like every content creator / tech related, clueless about the reality of the average person and their budgets, also these days in the deliberately created cost of living crisis.

Cost is always relative depending on the budget of the individual. Therefore generalisations are required and your discretion is obviously required.

I didn't realise £1099 was a budget laptop, but when sent for free for you to review I suppose it is. My current laptop is a HP Pavillion B&O with a AMD 9420 A9 processor which 5-6 years ago cost me over £400 which back then I thought was a good chunk of money for a laptop. Obviously I am wrong. For that money I think its ok, bit I would rather save a bit more money and get something slightly bigger. The heat dissipation from the CPU when gaming must make the laptop get very warm. I am not convinced a laptop should be used for gaming, being forced to look downwards for a period of time will hurt your neck, this would be ok for surfing the web, watching movies on, a bit of light gaming but that is it. I have found HP laptops quality can be something to watch out for. Screen bezels coming away from the screen, the upgradeability of them is a huge pain in the ass with regard to memory & SSD's, plus getting windows to update when it is stuck on a build version and wont move past it. Its a nice laptop but a bit rich for my shallow pockets.

Thank you for the review :) I have just ordered and am awaiting it in a few days. I wanted a replacement for my 7 year old spectre which struggle a bit with screenrecording and drawing at the same time. Would be nice if simple videoediting goes smiither than now. I wanted something decent for zoom too. I hope it will last a few years for my purposes. I hope the mic is passable, speakers are not so important as long as they work.
I did look around at laptops and reviews and "how to choose" guides and it seems like a very good price for the things I supposedly need in a laptop (I don't play any games). While there are cheaper laptops that work for text editing and streaming videos, my experience with those are frustrating.
So, looking forward to try this :) got it at a discount and I realize this review is probably already old.. But I just want a laptop that works.

LG Gram much better for same price and specs. cheaper OLED asus for only £600 with a bit of compromise at gaming department , but they have vivobook 16 with OLED and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 for £1000 . bigger screen better refresh rate better port selection better video

Just had a look for some deals, jack of all trades laptop for just under a grand... not too bad! Especially with the oled screen. however, the HP Victus with the rx6500m is going for about 450 and I'd say that's all the gaming laptop you'd ever need. and the HP Aero 13 is great for creators... Again at about 400! Both have Ryzen processors too for those sweet sweet thermals.
