We already have things for which we can prosecute past presidents. Examples are Obama’s killing of a 16-year old American citizen by drone strike without due process, George W. Bush’s WMD lies, Biden’s criminal refusals to enforce border laws and defiance of Supreme Court rulings, and even Clinton’s crushing of “b*mbo eruptions” and lying under oath. This not only protects Trump, but any future and past presidents who could have easily been indicted as well. The only thing that protects former presidents now is tradition, only Democrats are willing to throw all that away due to hatred of Trump. They’ll use all sorts of unprecedented legal contortions to charge Trump. The whole idea is to protect presidents against political prosecutions, which is exactly what is happening now.

This principal that we have lived by "Nobody is above the law" helps to give us the sense that we are all equal by making us all equal in the eyes of the law. No one is special. SCOTUS Amy will have challenging years ahead explaining to her children why on earth she did not try to prevent the US becoming a state like Russia, Iran, North Corea among others. The Supreme Court during the initial questioning of presidential immunity kept on bringing up ridiculous hypotheticals, like they happen all the time. They should rule on the specific indictment that was elevated to the Supreme Court. If any president is stupid enough to actually do any of the hypotheticals brought up, then they should be indicted and that specific indictment brought to the Supreme Court for a decision.
