Good stuff - Thanks!
Good advice
Thank you Very much
Thank you...
I have had gout for almost 10 years and agree with most of your comments. Let me also say that carbohydrates and sugar (bread, cookies with fructose etc.) have been far more of a problem for me. Meat and seafood are fine as long as I avoid carbs, sugar and alcohol. Basically, I’ve food a keto diet clears up my gout, but maybe this doesn’t work for everyone. Anyway, great video! 👍
Wow, we appreciate the kind words and your watching Kris! Very appreciated. Excellent tips!
If reasonable, we would appreciate a quick rating from you, and a good rating makes a MASSIVE difference for us!

Thank you for being such a great fan, and we appreciate you watching!
@@DrTomBiernacki Well I gave you guys an excellent rating! Well deserved! I would also like to mention that Gout to me is something like ‘type 3 diabetes’. I find gout responds well to the same recommended keto diet for diabetes, which I don’t have. I found this out by accident by going on keto to lose weight! :) It cleared up my asthma too!
My first gout attack was 12 years ago. Followed my Rheumatologist diet for 10 years and my uric avid levels would not drop below 7.4.
2 years ago I started a meat based diet. Less than 10% carbohydrates. Today's diet is fatty wild caught fish including mussels and 4 eggs and cheese every morning for breakfast. Lunch is more fish. Dinner is red meat, beef, venison, bison, wild boar, beef mixed with liver and heart (basically a high purine diet) I drink lots of water, exercise daily and lift weights. I eat zero HFCS and no processed foods. Now my uric acid is 6.2 no gout attacks and as a side benefit my HDL is up LDL down and triglycerides are way down. For me the carnivore diet lifestyle works for me, and for my wife it has reversed her pre-diabetes. Both of us have brought our BMI down from obese to low normal. Ha! I had to wait until my 60's to get a six pack. Also no prescription drugs for me or my wife.
@@wcneathery3100 This is a very helpful comment. Yes, I’m hearing again and again that the carnivore diet seems to work well with gout, even if it goes against mainstream advice. I also found the prescribed diet didn’t address the flares and swelling and the nasty medicine wasn’t so effective either.
@@krisjustin3884 Yes I agree. I refused all meds except colchisin during flares. I think feeding the body what it's designed to eat is the best diet.
Thanks 😊
I battled gout all summer. I had my first attack when I was 59. Now at 71 I spent the summer in pain. I became very frustrated because non of the prescribed medication seemed to help. Maybe there would be a few days or a week where it cleared but then rapidly returned. Then in October I viewed a You Tube video on gout I found interesting. I changed my diet completely! I gave up sliced turkey breast which I enjoyed a slice or three each day for lunch. Once a week, homemade tomato sauce with macaroni gone! Anything with sugar gone! Bagels with butter four times a week gone! Oatmeal gone! Finally the hardest sacrifice of all PIZZA, GONE!!! New diet, a banana each morning, 16 oz bottle water with 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon juice, salad each afternoon with celery seed and celery blueberries, raspberries crushed walnuts with olive oil and apple cider vinegar. At around 1:00 time for another bottle of water with Lemon juice.
Dinner, in olive oil garlic, onions, peppers, celery browned then add a whole finely chopped cabbage. Cook until tender. Separately pan sauté ground chicken. Another pan brown rice. Once cooked mix all together. Delicious!! I also enjoy skim milk, fat free cottage cheese and a minor amount of American or provolone cheese with eggs. Delicious! I still allow my self one slice of pizza a week. Started this diet October 1 and to date no gout attack.
Amazing!
Thanks for sharing it keeps us motivated!
Wow!good job..amazing..congrats..gout gone.
One full year and just one gout attack and that was after thanksgiving. As soon as I felt the slightest ache in my angle coming on I took an Ibuprofen and the next morning another and it was canceled out!
How are you doing now?
Beautiful knowledgeable video!
Thank you!
I have watched so many videos on this subject in a search for an 'EASY' solution to my ongoing problem with kidney stones and gout as I'm a long time sufferer. You finally made me realise that there is no 'easy' solution. I guess it's like someone who is obesely overweight thinking there's a magic pill to help them lose the weight. !THIS! was my wakeup call at 65 that I have to 'do what it takes' to have the health I want. THANK YOU so much. I'm on it!
I'm also happy to give you feedback on exactly the dramatic/'honest' changes I make and the results I have, including before during and after photos, videos and detailed diet changes made; for the good of all. There is so little 'real life experience' data on this that I was personal looking for.
We appreciate you watching and contributing. What an honest comment, we will be cheering you on and wish you amazing progress!
If possible, we would appreciate a quick rating (hopefully good), and it makes a HUGE difference for us!

Hello. I can’t figure out the issue of gout. If a person's kidneys are fine and they are working as they should, then the problem is in the liver. And then I constantly hear from various doctors that they say the liver creates too many uric acid crystals from purines. And they say this is precisely the problem. But no, most likely not in this. We all have copper stellate liver cells someone has more of them, someone has less of them. It is these liver cells that destroy toxins, and uric acid is a toxin for the body. So, apparently, patients with gout do not have enough of these copper cells in the liver. After all, it is they who synthesize = create, build the copper-containing enzyme "uricase". Which breaks down uric acid into water-soluble molecules "allantoin". And these water-soluble molecules are excreted in the urine. It would seem that the issue has been completely resolved. Synthesize the copper-containing enzyme uricase in factories, and periodically put in a dropper to cleanse the body of uric acid. Practical without side effects. But no, for some reason this drug is not in use. Either it is expensive, or it is completely banned, as, for example, in E. S. At the same time in E. S. oligarchs with their corrupt politicians do not produce analogues of the pegloticase krystexxa. And what is prescribed to patients. That's right, pills with a wild amount of side effects of the 70s, 80s.) Well, what if not genocide? People, why do you think the Zion oligarchs are such finished children of the devil?,
Very useful information thanks I will follow you're instructions thank u again
Lemon juice
So long time runner in my early 30s. I starting having flare ups of this but wasn't sure what it was. After years of it I got diagnosed with Gout. My healthcare provider for years was always too slow to see me so it would heal before I saw my podiatrist. So I am 6'-2" 175lbs and decently healthy lifestyle. I guess I naturally run on the more dehydrate side of things so this is something I need to do better on. I will try out the cherry juice because my mom swears by it. Thanks for the informative video.

Re: sampling joint fluid with syringe/needle. Aren't the uric acid crystals present in the joint all the time not just during the gout attack? Thus the joint could be sampled while it is not painful to confirm a gout diagnosis by the presence of uric acid crystals ... as opposed to calcium pyrophosphate crystals which defines pseudo-gout that requires a different treatment.
The gout attack is the result of a type of auto-immune reaction to the uric acid crystals that are always present, no?
Very comprehensive. You need to get your videos 'out' there! Get the recognition you deserve.
Wow, thank you!
Gradually getting better videos out there and they are picking up steam!
@@DrTomBiernacki you're welcome. I'm having a bout of gout and on a mini gout video spree and I thoroughly thought this content was the most informative.
Anchovies and sardines seems to be my trigger for gout. I'm on long term allopurinol for about a year now, but I stopped it for several months because the vendor of the medicine changed and I seem to react to it. I get breakouts every now and then when I take it consistently. Now I got a couple weeks worth of colchecin and painkillers. Its very mood dampening for me as I am only 31 and I have been suffering from gout since mid 20s. I've had 6-7 attacks just this year but thats because I had stopped taken allopurinol for 7 months. I just restarted taking them back again. So yeah..:)
Great video! I'm trying to figure out what's the best sugar replacement for inflammation/gout issues. Do you know if raw honey or maple syrup negatively impacts gout/inflammation? I've read several places they are good for inflammation but not sure about gout. I'm not sure I want to mess with monk fruit, erythritol, etc.... stevia is probably the only one I know but not a big fan of the aftertaste.
Thanks for the great response!
In general google the glycemic index, if over 70 then it is bad, if over 55 that is moderately bad. Ideally it would be best to limit sugars overall.

I’m on my second gout attack exactly a year apart. When he says that the pain is a 10, it’s not an exageration. It took me almost a month to fully recover ftom the first one - hoping this one doesn’t take as long.
Thanks alot what a useful video I really thank you i did learn alot from this video and the way how you explaine its amazing i used to gym and exercise every single day cycling runs i never have any problems with my joints or have any gout attack but since the covid and the lock down they close the gyms for almost 5 months and unfortunately I couldn't exercise like before in fact I stopped completely coz we aren't allowed to even leave our houses to run or even take a walk so my uric acid went high and I had my first and second gout attack but you right exercise can make a huge difference so I started my diet now and cut all the things you mentioned on food and drinks and I will be back to gym soon as they just allowed the gyms to open few days ago
I hate medications and tablets I know lots of sides effects So will go naturally and exercise again thanks alot for all your advises
I am doing the same!
How are you doing now?
@@8andsk835 how are you doing buddy?
Is it possible to have gout for over one year?! I am a runner. I also suffered from psoriatic arthritis and was on Remicade infusions for several years. But a year ago I thought I broke my big toe when I kicked something really hard. I didn’t stay off that foot and kept running. My right foot is still so swollen a year later and that big toe joint is hot and red and swollen. When I had it x-rayed at the emergency room I see something in that joint x-ray that looks suspicious. But the emergency room doctor said that the big toe is not broken. I’m wondering if this is gout?
Great video and I agree with everything you have to say. I like to have maybe 2-5 alcoholic drinks a week, mainly beer and white wine. Do I have to cut that out Completely? I get around 3 flare ups a year. Thx
Generally, alcohol if not hydrated, can lead to further dehydration. Every bit can help, but the main thing is getting in as great of shape, having good blood flow, and getting irritation off your feet as much as possible. In these cases, it would have less of an effect.
If reasonable, we would appreciate a quick rating from you, and a good rating makes a MASSIVE difference for us!

Hi, i have a question i am having these exact same issues, i was told by a doctor that it is most likely gout but that I would need to see a podiatrist to get an official diagnosis. She recommended me to one but my only issue is that I do not have medical insurance. Is seeing a podiatrist for my gout only going to cost thousands of dollars because that is the only thing preventing me from seeking treatment. The pain is extremely severe. It's been non-stop for about 2 and 1/2 weeks now and the doctor I went to see did prescribe methylprednisone and diclofenac and while it has helped to some degree it has not gotten rid of it. I have completely cut out sodas, taking it very easy on orange juice. Only drinking dairy-free, milks and majorly increasing my water intake and yet the pain is still there. My foot still feels swollen and I can't lift or bend my big toe very much without the pain being excruciating and I have to walk on my foot at an angle just so that it doesn't hurt as bad, but yet it does still hurt even when I do that. I would like to get this taken care of as soon as possible so that I can start exercising to lose weight. As right now I can't run or jog much less walk on this foot. I need the pain to be under control so that I can start getting healthy again so that this doesn't happen in the future but my only issue is money. I live in the Houston area and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me a price range for going in and seeing a podiatrist about a gout flare-up with no medical insurance.
Tested for high uric acid, got my second gout attack. First in the big toe joint. I'm at 3 weeks with it and it hasn't gone away. Even with medicine from my doctor
A large amount of the time it can be gout superimposed onto a stiffer, tighter foot with a higher likelihood of osteoarthritis through the big toe joint. We find best success with using proper shoes and proper insoles to keep pressure off of the site. www.michiganfootdoctors.com/podiatrist-recommended-shoes/ This guide might help!
Three weeks?!
I was diagnosed when I was 17.
So, I cannot metabolize meats?
You didn't mention "celery". I have read about celery containing an enzym that breaks down the uric acid crystals. I started eating at least 6 or 7 celery stalks a week and haven't had a gout attack since. What do you know of the benefits of celery for gout?
Great tip, I will look into it!
I eat celery all the time..did nothing for the gout for me.
Tart Cherry in pill form works great for Gout
I have gout pills taking care of ny gout! I took an eldar fall and I missed up my imright side and the doctors in Skagit county said they would send me to Seattle cause they gotta undo a suffer retired last mimonth. My mri is barley if you can access nt records I have broken ny back with arthritis, degeneration disk and I’m 69 never knew this would happen😊
Basically cut out everything you like and you will still get attack because eating is only partially related since body makes a ton of purine on it's own. I rarely eat red meat, never drink beer, and eat just a few shimp now and then and not obese and still I'm battling a severe 14 day attack and it's still going on:(
Absolutely that can be tough!
Same here. Little to no red meat or alcohol, I don’t smoke and eat very little sugar. I am 15 - 20 pounds overweight. Whenever I lose weight I get nasty gout attacks.
Omg I'm on seven now just woke up and knee my lord I want to chop it off with a hammer and chisel.
No beer, no bbq, no beer, no seafood; just shoot me now!
😅
How much would you pay me? I don’t use my bazuca for free 😂😂😂
I consume none of the above and still get flare ups
I have a few interconnected medical things going on, including got and I'm allergic to almost all of the usual triggers, the others I rarely eat.
How long does the stiffness goes away and will it go away??
Is it true that wieght lifting can bring on an attack
I had a flare up from Nov 30 2022 until Jan 15 2023 got a test for uric acid at 6.0. The flare up went down to a 1 out of 10 with dietary changes. Now my discomfort level is hanging around a 0.5 to 1.5 out of 10. I want it totally gone naturally so I am looking for advice how to get there. I have a nutrition coach that has eliminated all red meat seafood from my diet. Only chicken and eggs for protein now. Should I be eating celery stalks? Does over eating chicken cause a gout attack since it still has purines?
Gout flare ups vary for people. What may cause you to have a flare up may not bother me and vice versa. The best thing to do is keep al little book and pay attention and log your diet. When you have a flare up, check to see what you ate that may have been different from a previous entry. There is a general list of things that tend to cause flare ups (sugar, beer, carbs, red meats etc.) but again for some it differs. For example, I have no issue with carbs or red meats, added sugars and beer though I have to be very careful. Also, if you feel the tingle a day before the flare up, drinking a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water ( mixed well) can stop it right in it's tracks (same with apple cider vinegar in another cup) and doing that 2-3x a week overall can help keep it away. But remember, there's a point of no return during a gout flare up if you don't catch it fast.
Yo bro I feel your pain!! I've had a horrendous gout attack for 12 weeks
now.
Started in my left knee, went down to left foot then to right foot eventually going into my right knee!! I've been on crutches for 9 weeks as the pain and swelling in my knee has been awful.
My uric acid levels when tested was 8.8 I'm going to lower it naturally so I'm eating one meal a day drinking lots of herbal teas and water with apple cider vinegar in.
This is by far the worst flair up I have ever had as it normally only lasts for around 10 days usually.
Just like you said the pain hasnt left this time. The previous flair up before this one the pain didn't completely leave like it normally does it went down to maybe 1 out of 10 so I could function but still aware of the pain.
I also have swelling on the top of my foot which hasn't left since,
I'm going to beat this just like you brother.
It would be great to connect as we both seem to be on similar journeys.
I've watched lots of gout treatment videos. Never heard anyone else blame it on smoking.
Smoking goes along with general health and good blood flow, get as healthy as possible and you are less likely to have some of the underlying issues that can lead to gout.
I came here, as a reg. nurse in Europe with a Kenyan husband, who just had a gout attack in his big toe joint.
It came after being diagnosed with Hepatitis, Malaria, Dengue Fever and having post-Covid and various Kenyan doctors failed to diagnose him for weeks.
He was on all kinds of different drugs, mainly antibiotics, on and off for weeks before getting Podagra.
He is slim, not diabetic, eating normal healthy food. Not a big meat eater. Not a big drinker. Walks s lot. Doesn't smoke.
He drinks a lot of water and it seems that, when he started to recover from the Hepatitis, he seemed to flush out the gout simply be drinking lots of water.
It took him a couple of weeks and he had no idea that he was treating himself. He just likes water and naturally drinks a lot.
@GamerVidz No gout since then :-)
What about fruit juices and coconut waters? Are they okay or do they qualify as sugary drinks in the same class as sodas, etc?
Same as soda's with some benefits.
I only drink coffee, 1-2 cups a day. No soda, beer, alcohol. I do not eat organ meats, I do not eat seafood at all. I do not smoke, I am not overweight, I think carbohydrates are the issue for me.
Is it OK to walk after gout flare is gone? I just had my first ever gout attack after being hospitalized for 8 days due to Covid-19 during which I lost close to 30 lbs in 10 days which I think was the cause of my gout plus my weight, so my question is can I walk to lose weight after the gout flare is managed? ..Thank you
How are you doing now? Did you have any other attack ?
Can that happen in the second toe?
35 years now for gout suffering. 60 now and having a long gout attack now in my 2nd week. First time EVER in my index finger knuckle joint but the ankle at same time.... I have seen dozens of doctors world wide.... Classified a chronic gout sufferer 25 years ago... Good to hear my life is likely to be shortened but maybe, just maybe the pain of a kidney stone was as bad as a real gout attack.. bye the way when you have to be carried out to the ambulance after 4 days of high fever , hallucinations and peeing sideways off the bed into a bucket and it kinda looks like coca cola, then and only then you have experienced the real bad gout!! If I can make it to a toilet when I need to go if I have bad gout it's not so bad, the pain maybe unbearable but it's not until you just cannot physically get to a toilet then you have a bad attack! Also, yes prednisolone does make you cranky, miserable and tell at people . Also it makes you gain weight...
I was a chronic sufferer since 55 but I woke up at 70 after seeing a CZcams video on gout and drastically changed my diet, lost 25 pounds and drink a minimum of eight bottles of water per day.
I start each morning after my coffee with a 16 oz bottle of water with apple cider
vinegar, lime juice and black Cherry juice in the water. Then microwave whole wheat instant farina with cinnamon,
turmeric and once cooked blueberries, banana, pecans and a square of dark chocolate mixed in. Generally I enjoy that at 10-11:00. That’s it until dinner at 5pm.
This works for me along with Turmeric pill daily and a three mile walk.
Good luck my friend I know the pain!!!

I had knee surgery and a blood clot formed. A few days later I had my first ever gout attack in the big toe joint. The pain has been nonstop. I don't eat processed foods, eat 10+ serves of low fodmap veggies a day, don't drink alcohol and am a healthy weight and active, with no family history. Could the surgery alone be what caused my gout?
A stressful event like surgery can be a known risk factor for sure, always check with your doctor, but surgery is a risk factor for gout precipitation.
Prior to attack, How much starchy foods like rice or fruits do you eat/day?
I'm going on 9 years with gout. Most painful experience I've had. Cherry juice had helped at first, but flare ups returned. It got to the point where I could not walk because of the pain pressure on my right big toe. I changed my eating habits, minimizing red Meats ,fish, alcohol red sauces breads, soda, and sodium. I stared this in 2020 and the gout stop for years until right now I'm having my second flare up this year. I had to get on prednisone for the inflammation it came with a vengeance. I'm trying a different approach with gut health. Can't take the pain anymore
I got gout in my toe, I have been prescribed indomethacin, I am vegetarian , how long it will last? It been a month now.
Always get checked out if worried, 1 month seems long a long gout attack.

@@Magnifico-ck5xd I cut out all beer and limit red meat and shellfish to special occasions and drink plenty of water, at first it was an awful tradition especially to drop the beer, but it’s 1000x better than having gout! Haven’t had a flare up since!

Celery juice helps 😀
I suffer from both Gout and Arthritic feet. I've been trying to do a better diet...my diet was never really bad as I don't drink sugar drinks or eat much sugar products (rarely). But I do eat red meat and big issue with Carbs (Bread is a habit and major cause as it's all highly processed flour.) and I love spaghetti of all kinds. I have found a 4 prong attack for my Gout though that has saved me. Allopurinol every day to keep uric acid down. Then if I do get a flair I take immediately Colchicine (2 then 1hr later 1 and then 1 per day for a 3-5 days) and then If I get a real killing me flair where the pain is so bad I want to chop off my foot, I go for 1 prednisone for 2 days (and that kicks it in the bud fast!) and my final solution is lots and lots of fluids. Water and teas and with tea's I drink things like nettle teas or Turmeric and ginger (very important to remember to add pepper or get tea with tum. and pepper as the pepper helps you absorb the turmeric) . Dandelion works well to as it's an anti-inflammatory. The tea's make you pee a lot. oh and coffee. Basically anything that will cause you to urinate a lot.
2 tips. 1) Always stock up on Prednisone! Have it on hand if you can. I am NEVER without a bottle. Plus my Dr. only gives me 5 at a time and it can go fast and you do not want to have to leave house when your in agony to pick up a prescription.
2). As a snack I make popcorn (NO salt! as salt is bad for arthritic and gout) using real butter (healthy fat and just a small amount just so Turmeric has a fat source which it needs Coconut oil is really good to) and Turmeric powder (with a pinch of pepper, DON'T forget the pepper!). It's a great way to get turmeric into your system and yummy to boot.
I had my 1st gout attack ever AFTER losing 38lbs in 10 weeks (I eliminated sugar and stopped drinking). Is it possible that my rapid weight loss caused gout?!
This is what happened to me too!
Trying to get healthier and lose weight, then bam! Gout!
Yup... same happened to me, doctor told me to cut back on some stuff. So I did, started eating less sugar, salt, fast food, beer, bam, gout attack. wtf.
Were you fasting and or eliminate all refined carbs/ processed food?
Yes. I’m going through it right now. I lost 115 pounds and I’m getting flare ups every week.
Prolonged fasts can increase uric acid temporarily potentially leading to gout flares
I noticed I usually get gout attack if I injure my big toe. Anyway to prevent this? Im having gout attack right now, after 4 years of not having any.
The biggest thing that helped me get rid of gout (cutting out beer was the biggest sadly) is taking a teaspoon of baking soda mixed well into a cup of water 2-3x a week ( it can also take away the pain during a flare up, it will still be swollen but the throbbing can subside) and making that a part of your diet.
That's what happen to me last month. It wasn't getting any better so got abit worried. 30+ now, this is crazy. I just got prescribed Naprosyn 500mg, so fat it's working, hopefully the injury is fully recovered so the gout can run away -_- very annoying.
I am going through a second gout attack right now as I write this comment . I saw an article online that nicotine reduces gout pain because it helps reduce formation of urate crystals in the body . Is this true ? I have stopped smoking but have been chewing nicotine gum for well over a year now . Should I stop chewing nicotine gum too ?

For a problem this complex and with so many variables, you really would benefit most from seeing a podiatrist in person.
A problem of this nature really does require a proper history and physical. By getting non-specific advice online, it really can make your problem worse.

The worst of it (at least for me) is when you're trying to sleep. If you're sitting down with it rested on a pillow and not moving it it's generally fine (pain wise until you get up to do something) but sleeping is almost impossible, the constant stinging and throbbing. Use to have to suck own a half a bottle of Nyquil to sleep through it. Like most changing my diet (mainly cutting out beer) really helped, but I also started taking a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water 2-3x a week (and Apple cider vinegar in another) and I haven't had a flare up in nearly 2 years. I wouldn't wish gout on anyone, it sucks.
Hi boss, Just need to know how do you often drink a baking soda in a water per day? And how many apple cider vinegar per day?
@@romnick22 As of now since I haven't had a flare up in 2 years, I drink one teaspoon of baking soda in a full cup of water mixed well, once in a day, first thing in the morning. I do that 3x a week most weeks, (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and I do the exact same amount with apple cider vinegar in another cup of water right after the baking soda. When I was having flare ups I did it once a day every day until it was gone. Which generally took about 3-5 days. I would do some research on it still and listen to your body when you ingest the baking soda/vinegar. Don't go over a teaspoon, too much can cause some real damage.
@@meshiu2344 Thanks boss, I will do this
@@romnick22 Hey man just wanted to give you a quick update. The last few days I started mixing them together, one cup, 1 teaspoon of cider and now a quarter teaspoon of baking soda. a lot smoother.
@@meshiu2344 thanks boss, I wonder, did you also change your diet in the past 2 years? I went to a doctor and required me to change my diet since my gout is caused by high uric acid. She recommended me to have a low purine diet
Apple cider or apple cider pills, pineapple, strawberries, orange juice, lemon water, and cherries or cherry pills
I have gout that was caused by a high blood pressure medication that was prescribed to me they have changed my blood pressure medication since then.the first high blood pressure medication and I can't remember what the name of it is cuz this happened about 4 years ago caused my uric acid level to go skyrocket. So when you doctors talks about gout and eating red meat and seafood and all those other types of foods that elevates your uric acid why don't you all include certain medications that will rise your uric acid I think that's just about as important for people to know also.and also think that when doctors are prescribing these types of medications that causes your uric acid to rise or go skyrocket is important that these doctors explains to their patients that there is a high risk that this medication may cause gout.then that way the patients can discuss other medications that would be just as effective for whatever it is that it is being prescribed to them for. So that the patient can avoid the risk of high levels of uric acid and have an onset of gout pain
after one of these videos ,, i tried some 100% cherry (tart) concentrate ..previously ..i was unable to walk on my ankle , my entire foot was so swollen , that it began to turn inward ..
and any movement , was agony i went to my local store and purchased this , diluted it in water and drank it down ..by the end of that that day i was back on my feet .
let me explain ,
im no where near what i was before my attack but i can function , and when you work on your feet all day, it's key. (i can walk , but i'm not ready to go tap dancin just yet) i liken it removing a large thorne , or other object out your body ..you feel great cause the pain is gone , but you've still got a hole in yer foot ...lol
i would have to place myself in the tart cherry advocates category

... i wasn't really sure this even was gout until , i tried this remedy , now i really wanna try the rest of these strategies to help mitigate this condition ..
Why walking is bad doc?
I take 100mg of allopurinol for uric acid levels and have supportive shoes and prescription orthotics which helps for the pain from bone spurs from gout and osteoarthritis. I also do not consume red meat or alcohol and only minimal table sugar. We think that my gout is entirely hereditary but lifestyle improvements and taking good care of myself has kept the symptoms to a minimum. I also learned how to make my own arch supports for my athletic shoes which has helped tremendously with posture.
I noticed when I eat ramen that have a lot of sodium I would get a flare up.
Wow... I watched this in order to help my dad... This isn't gonna be easy, he literally does everything listed. Except he did quit smoking. He is in stage 4 kidney failure, drinks nothing but soda. Drinks alcohol at least twice a week. His diet is terrible according to gout guides. His gout is in his wrist, where as everything I've seen is in their feet, he has neuropathy in his feet so even if he did get an attack there, I'm not sure he would know or feel it. He hasn't had an attack in about a year since they put him on Alipurinol. But I believe there's only gonna be so much medication can do when he's not changing his lifestyle.
Thanks for the great response. Good luck with your dad!
If possible, we would appreciate a quick & easy rating from you, and a good rating makes a BIG difference for us!

I am having gout in my early 20's, I never smoked , never drink alchol ,never had much seafood.
My gout even trigger when i eat A plate of Rice 😢😢
Cut out ALL carbs. No rice, pasta, bread, biscuits-stick to meat, fish, chicken and vegetables-no potatoes. The reason for this is because the carbs turn straight to sugar in the body-avoid all sugars too, sodas, sweets, ice cream etc. Ive found that if i dont drink, on a carnivore diet then it does not occur. Trust me its all about sugars-alot of foods you eat especially processed carbs will cause it. Ditch them and see what happens.
Same here 22 man this sucks my life is over
You guys are not alone. I got my first attack in my early 20's as well. Right now, I got my third attack. It has been a month now, and my feet is still swelling. 😢😢😢 I have tried everything and watched almost all youtube videos related to gout. Nothing seems to help me at all.
Are you guys obese or fat ? What’s your bmi score ?
I’m 23 years old and i have gout. Is it alarming?
At 23 yes, I was 30 when I had my first attack
Arnica works.
When I eat read meat I don't get gout, I do have medication for gout although I do tend to forget my medication. I have ckd. When I was very careful of nit eating red meat I got gout for the first time in my big toe, I didn't have medication then until I got that, I have had it on my right side if my foot between little toe and heel.
Since I eat red meat I haven't had a gout attack. So, for me I don't think it's the red meat. I do take the gout medication now or I should say I try to remember it for my kidneys not my gout.
Everything may help, it could help but doesn’t usually. I have tried everything, to no real effect. I am not overweight, 65kg, 58 years old male. I walk between 15000-20000 steps a day. Never drink soft drinks. Even my uric acid levels are normal. In the past , only colchicine helps , with an anti inflammatory. My right wrist is the one i get it most on. Sometimes right toe, not often . Beer seems to be my only trigger, not any foods. Been on Allopinurol for 3 months, and my first couple of beers on Saturday night, first for 3 months. Bang, on cue, felt the flare up coming in my wrist 12 hours later . This time, its only 24 hours of pain due to taking colchicine immediately. I have also been drinking lemon water with acv every morning, without fail. And carrot and celery juices daily. But it seems, my 1 trigger, beer , to be the issue. Got me at my wits end. I can honestly say i have had 10 attacks in past 12 months. After watching countless videos, trying many different things, i am not sure anyone knows how to cure or prevent it.
I have a question. Can smoking cannabis help cause a gout attack?

Coffee can dehydrate you but some studies do show long term coffee drinking can be beneficial. I think the main culprit is dehydration and coffee can be a diuretic (makes you pee).
