Its amazing how the bride has gone to become such a big part of pop culture and universal monsters in general, when she actually seems to have a very small role or appearance in the main movie in general .

    Fun facts about this movie.
The actress had to wear stilts to look taller because she was only 5'4". She avoided drinking water before shooting because it took too long to get her out of costume so she could use the restroom.
Boris Karloff hated the idea of the Frankenstein monster being able to talk.

I do too, the audience can tell she hates him. It’s actually not hate, she’s terrified. Him voicing that made it kinda goofy instead of the sad scene that it was.

As Owen Grady said in Jurassic World, she is seeing all this for the first time. She has no idea of who she once was, who Frankenstein and Pretorius are, and who exactly the Monster is. So of course she’s going to act like a frightened child to what she is seeing.

The Bride of Frankenstein belongs to a small group of movies in which the titular character is on screen for only a few minutes but leaves an unforgettable impression (Dr. Strangelove is another). Elsa Lanchester does a brilliant job here. Her birdlike movements and reptilian hiss are particularly memorable and suggest that the Bride's higher brain centers may not have survived the "operation" fully intact.

Today some may think this is funny not scary but back in 1935, this was terrifying. Even now, with the old style black & white reel tape, this is super creepy still. Particularly when you learn that Elsa Lanchester herself had 2 abortions in the 1920s, one of which was botched & permanently sterilized her.
