    Hi Luke.. beautiful video as always. There simply aren't any fishing videos as beautiful to watch as yours! I see in your previous videos that the sparkledun is a favourite fly of yours. Would you mind giving me an approximation of the dressing as it is a fly I would love to try? Hope to see many more of your lovely films online soon.

    So, if I've followed that correctly, you're adding a total of five feet of tippet to the furled leader (3' of 5lb and 2' of 3lb)?

    • @bannisterrods
      @bannisterrods  Před 8 lety +3

      Hi Jon, yes "about", 5 feet is a good starting point.
      In low clear water with small dries and spiders I'll go a bit longer.
      Windy conditions and bigger flies I might shorten it a touch.
      Hope your season is going well.

    Hello luke, the 5lb to 3lb tippet is to help turn the fly over? I mean what would happen if you used just a single breaking strain tippet? e.g. 5 foot of just 6X? Thanks.

    • @bannisterrods
      @bannisterrods  Před 6 lety

      Hi Alms, stepping the leader down does seem to help with turn over and presentation, you can go straight through with the tippet, but you might find it a takes a little more concentration to turn a larger fly over going it to a wind.

    very nice video, i have a question and i dont know if you could answer me, ive only been fly fishing for 3 years now and this summer i fished with furled leaders but there would always form knots in my leader, do you have any idea why,
    thank you for the video
    greetings from canada

      Thanks, Glad that you enjoyed the video.
      It's difficult to say why you are getting knots in the leader with out seeing you casting.
      Too much power is a common cause, although it can be a combination of a few things.
      So there might not be any thing really wrong with how you cast, just a few small faults that add up to tangles.
      Orvis have got some good videos up on youtube

      @@CentralOSurvival Of course tenkara. I am from Russia and there was absolutely similar fishing method. But no one knew that there was tenkara in Japan.

    If you want to put out great video's get yourself a Zoom H1n sound recorder and a cheap lapel microphone. Then edit in that sound to your video and discard the video sound. That way we will be able to understand what you are saying.

    I had to run my volume up to maximum just to hear him. I was afraid CZcams would throw an annoying commercial in and blowout my speakers so I had to stop watching.
