Hope you all enjoyed this, I've been trying some other content, Steam Deck, switch, etc. Also looking to get into some retro handhelds as well. Smartphones only go so far, and at the moment there isn't much to talk about.
I think you're getting your hopes up too much for the next system. Holiday 2024 is my guess. Everything is guesses right now no facts nothing. Next system could be 0.8tflop for all we know. And I'll be shocked if it's more then 8gb of RAM 2 for the system so only 6 for games. The main screen will probably still be 720p lol

@@valismind .8tflops was just me joking cause it's Nintendo. But I don't think it will be much more than 2tflops give or take. And I still stand by my 8gb ram. Xbox series s has 10gb absolutely no reason for Nintendo to waste money on 16gb of RAM. I would be shocked if it was 12gb but that would be absolutely the max.
Also stand by my 2024 release. 90% sure it will be holiday 24 but maybe we are lucky again and get March like the OG switch.
Also the main screen being 720p I can see as a good cost cutting measure for Nintendo. Maybe we will be lucky and it's 900p.
So to break it down.
No more than 3tflops most likely 2
No more than 12gb ram most likely 8
No more than 900p OLED 7.4 inch screen most likely 720p 7 inch same exact screen being manufactured right now for switch OLED.
Also no more than $399 for the next system. Most likely $349. And not coming in 2023.
@@valismind Nintendo has reported a slowdown in Switch hardware sales and suggested that no new hardware will release before April 2024. Sad day for you. I told you not to get your hopes up. All you 2023 people lol.

Holiday 2024 I've been saying since the Pro rumors in 2021. Holding to my guns. Nintendo today said it's not coming before April 2024. And I find it kind of odd that they would release the next system in April or May and especially not the summer months. But maybe September-November 2024.

Thank you, haha. I actually bought a shell from Amazon and did the swap. The grips are just some cheap ghost thumb sticks from Amazon as well. But I wouldn’t recommend them. They’re not very good 😂

I really appreciate your take. As a dad, I think I’m gonna hold out and wait for the new console. I imagine the switch games will work in the new console I’ll just get them digitally, that should work. I’ll save my money for now since a good amount of it goes towards my kid.

Nothing will be coming out anytime soon, most likely late 2023 / early 2024 they will announce something, Even then it'll be like a year before it actually releases.
I just upgraded and its amazing! I traded in my v2 switch and got the oled! the difference is night and day!

They don't, but if you're not looking for the OLED there is a bundle w/ the regular switch that also includes one of 3 Mario titles of your choice. So it's technically $60 off if you're considering buying one of those titles.

I really enjoyed your take here. As someone who has both the Switch and Steam Deck, I do get the argument of tinkering. To be able to just pick up and play is nice. As for the Switch 2 or Pro or whatever the Big N decides to do, I'm in the mind of just waiting and seeing. Between their silence and all the speculations, I can't even get excited for the next Nintendo console anymore. I'm sure it'll be cool but until we get an official announcement, I'll just continue to enjoy my current Switch.
Last time I played diablo 3 was in highschool with my ps3. I’m 26 now, and boy do I miss it!

Is it just me, or are the most saturated reds way more intense than the other colours? I feel like some of the reds are too vibrant in Tears of the Kingdom, at least the sunsets.
i think your vivid preset is on. try turning off in the system settings.
I just got the TOTK Switch OLED because...yes I paid 10 bucks more for a skin
2100P, or at the very least, 1440 while playing handheld. 4K while docked. Call me insane, but when you look at the specs that are integrated into the latest smartphones, I just can’t see how some super massive jump’s could possibly be unreasonable. Not to mention the battery size that’s packed into a phone that happens to be such a smaller device.
Backwards compatibility should be automatic, no matter what, I’d think. Otherwise, there’ll be a huge segment of people who’ll end up waiting 2 or 3 yrs before picking it up.
Similar technology that is within the $300.00/$400.00 price point is being sold all the time in the smartphone industry. Nintendo can do all of the above, if they want. Obvious question is, “will they?”

Im debating between a oled and a lite for my first swich after years without gaming ... I like the option to play not in hand (not especially the TV connect, but the kick stand really atract me because I think I would like to play with a "real" controler) in the other hand the fact that the light is smaller/lighter really attract me too... And its 100.- less to buy a Lite and they might me a new swich soon ... I think I mainly gonna play some pokemon/animal crossing (maybe Zelda) so I dont know ...
Bro just by a switch oled, its 10000x better. I got a switch lite and it was garbage so I just sold it and ended up buying a switch oled(thank god it didn't cost that much since I had gift cards). The switch lite screen is incredibly small, and it gets annoying since most games are most enjoyable on the TV. I bought the Switch Lite thinking I was only going to be playing in handheld but after playing games like Zelda BOTW and other games, I wanted to play on the TV but couldn't. The handheld experience is better on the Switch OLED as well, especially since the screen is more vibrant and much larger.
I'm in the same boat it's so tough, I think I'm gonna go for the OLED. In the long run, £100 isn't THAT much for all of the features you get. Imagine you're playing Luigi's Mansion 3 and want your sibling or friend to play co-op with you. Well, no can do for Lite. Or if you want to play Zelda on the big screen. Again, no can do for the Lite. What did you buy in the end? Since I'm at university without TV access during term time, the tabletop mode is something I will deffo use

My main concern buying now is the possibility of a switch 2 being announced. Id still probably buy one if the switch 2 comes out in late 2024. Do you have any knowledge if the switch 2 will be announced?

They haven’t even sent dev kits out, on top of that check out other CZcamsrs videoes on the subject, a switch 2 isn’t coming for a while and nintendos next console might not even be a switch.

It was confirmed by Nintendo itself that they won't release a new console until the next fiscal year, so we could be seeing a new Switch probably in late 2024. Additionally, the first 2 years of every videogame console are very stale regarding game releases so it would be better to wait until 2026 to buy the new Switch.

@@angelopebs no confirmation but I’m 99.9% sure they aren’t that stupid to not do it. The Wii U supported Wii games and now the PlayStations are backwards compatible and so is Xbox. If it’s not I’m sure at least half the people that would upgrade won’t

I just got a special edition Splatoon 3 switch (the best looking special edition imo) and unless the “switch 2” looks as good as the Splatoon switch I probably still wouldn’t regret buying mine now. And you know the price tag of the new switch is gonna be 🤢
I think the new switch price tag will replace the OLED, and the OLED model Switch will replace the red box one. Perhaps making the lite cheaper, until they eventually phase them out. I doubt the new console will be any more expensive considering most of Nintendos money comes from their first party games which they're now selling for $70 starting with Tears of the Kingdom haha.
The Splatoon 3 OLED is gorgeous right? It's the one I have as well. I like the Zelda OLED Switch but the Splatoon 3 Switch is still my fav.
My issue with the switch is the docked resolution sucks, but undocked my release day switch is just small and lacks colors
With dlss 3 frame gen plus resolution and all the new features it'd be amazing

At face value, you're right. Though, I would argue it's honestly pretty well priced given what it's capable of. Home console, portable console, easy local multiplayer, and the list goes on. This modularity gives the switch so much life, and I think Nintendo really did amazing when it comes to this thing.

@@bamasteven3096 I don't blame you, one thing about Nintendo is the consoles retain their value quite well whether it's trade-in, or if you were to sell on MarketPlace. + buying the new switch on launch may be pointless considering just how bad the launch line up was for the Nintendo Switch, everything aside from Breath of the Wild was pretty much e waste ahahah.

It been 6years for the switch not 7 because the switch was released by 2017 and we don't count the year of 2017 for the first year we count the first year of 2018 for the switch so that means it been 6years for the switch and I hope for the next original gameboy gba gbc online for the switch expansion pack the classic online games we get is Pokémon for original gameboy GBA GBC online for online battle and online trade for the switch online expansion pack and I hope the switch2 n early late summer n 2023 or n 2024 and I hope it will last 5 more years
It's in its 7th year but yes it's been out about 6Y 2M. The next system will be late 2024 in its 8th year probably around November. Nintendo will be milking the system for all it's worth. I will be shocked but happy if it comes out this year. But I highly highly doubt it.

I think the upcoming rog ally (starts at $599) is going to be a lot more worth it for me, why?
1. 2x sharper screen, 2x faster as well
2. Emulation of switch games
3. Capable of running PC games!
4. More comfortable to hold
5. Multiple times better graphics! Switch hardware is just too old
So I think the ally would be better for me. I can sell my switch for $270 (since it’s the OG moddable one), and all of my switch games for $300ish which means I’m basically upgrading and losing nothing (since I will be emulating the games)
battery life might suck though
