Building a Beer Keg Scale (using a Postal/Shipping scale with a PCS Function)

- This video shows how to take a Postal/Shipping scale, with a PCS function, and use it to determine the number of pours remaining inside a beer keg.
This video also shows how I built a smaller base for the scale and rewired a new harness to the scale's control panel.
Here is the link to the "Smart Weigh" Scale I use in the Video.

Great video! I might have to try this on my keg fridge
Thanks Derek. If you get lots of power interruptions, I recommend an inexpensive UPS battery backup for the control panel(s) so you don't have to re-input the empty weight. Cheers!
Great job. Nice and clean.
Just remember that the scale only has memory for the PCS function, not the weight data. If you loose power, you will need to re-weigh an empty keg (or a substitute object of that weight). Or, get a UPS battery backup. Cheers!
Great Idea! I appreciate the video thank you

Do those definitely not auto shut off when plugged into wall?
Nope. The auto shut off is only to save battery life. However, if you have the USB plugged in and you have a power glitch or outage, the displays will zero out (but the PCS input stays in tact). I have a UPS connected to the USB outlet so I don't have to re-weigh the kegs. Cheers!
