  • While editing, I realized I missed that they are only 2 years apart. It felt like 20 years apart. WOW. Hoshi seems like such a pure genius soul, who love his work and that is all he thinks about. That seems to be the running theme in all the guests. I am truly happy that I found Hoshi and Seventeen thanks to 슈취타 preparation. And thank you so much for your subscriptions and support.

    The compliment about hoshi being a pure soul is so accurate and it's so nice that you noticed with just few reactions. He is a really nice guy (of course from what we see, since we don't know him personally) but yeah he did get emotional, he also got emotional on the other drinking show with lee youngji (the feature they were talking about). He really loves his members and appreciate the chance thier agency gave them

      One way to know is how long they stay in the business and how others treat him and talk about him. Including staff and other idols. I have no knowledge, but I am guessing only good things about him are being said.

    I saw Hoshi for the first time in their concert in 2017. At that time I dragged a friend of mine to go to the concert with me, and she's not a kpop fan. But she did go with me anyway and so overwhelmed by how many members Seventeen has. Then I told her who my bias was, and during the ment session, while Hoshi was talking, my friend suddenly whispered in my ear, she told me that she knew why I like Hoshi. She said this guy when he talked about how thankful he was to the fans, his eyes were shining so bright and you could tell how genuine this guy was. Eyes cannot lie, Hoshi is so pure and he really loves what he is doing as an artist and always wants to give his best to return all of the love he has received from the fans. I think all of the members of Seventeen do, but one thing I like about Hoshi is his eyes, they cannot lie 🤧
    I really love this guy and really wish Seventeen can stay together and go for as long as they want to.

    It's so funny seeing hoshi here, it's not like he faking his personality but it's unusual to see him this still. When he's with seventeen he's the embodiment of chaos. It's is true that he at his core is a bit introverted though. I'm really glad that you've gotten a glimpse into seventeen and now know a bit about them!

    Hoshi is so cute and pure looking! I actually had to google his age since I’m not familiar with Seventeen. I’ve seen listen to some of their songs and have enjoyed it!
    So regarding Yoongi’s shoulder injury…he was basically hit by a car while he was delivering food (to earn extra money) while he was a trainee still. I think this was the first time he mentioned that all the On dance movements made it worse which is why they decided to get the surgery at that time. When I think about the pain his shoulder must have given him all these years while dancing so many hard choreography it just proves how much he loves what he does and what a hard worker he is! 💜
    And yes, Jin’s episode on Youngji’s show was awesome! I laughed sooo much 😂😂😂! I think you’ll totally enjoy it and it will show you another side of Jin’s!!

    Suga (30) and Hoshi (who will be 27 in June) are only about 3 years apart, but Suga seems so much older (& of course wiser). When Jungkook was Live & watching the Suchwita Jimin episode, JK jokingly remarked, “Yoongi looks like an ahjussi!” (Admittedly, I was thinking the same because of Suga’s nice button-down sweaters)😂😂. I also didn’t realize that Lee Youngji was in a BSS song, ‘Fighting.’ Hoshi was a guest on her show and if you have a chance to watch it, I’d recommend it (either on your own time or you can react to it-she’s a little goofy & is only 20 yrs old). I don’t know the name of it (cuz I can’t read Korean) but I just type in ‘the Youngji show with Hoshi.’ (She also had Jin on her last show-she’s on a break now). Hope you’ll be reacting to the remaining Suchwita episode with Shin Dong Yup, as well as the new episode next week, Suga with a couple of TXT members. As always, I so enjoyed your reaction to this episode.

  • @evantesseract737

    I love the "fighting!" thing. It went from English to Japanese to Korean, apparently? I've pretty much picked it up - I love having a word that means "you/we got this!" and "let's go!" and "good luck!" all at once. I'd do it in English if people understood 😂
    I knew you'd get a kick out of Hoshi being so in awe, and as someone who loves Yoongi, seeing him fall easily into the sunbae role made me really happy. Hoshi is so young, and Yoongi is very kind to him, exactly what you hope your seniors will be like. And yeah, Hoshi was crying.
    Apparently they stayed up all night drinking in Suga's studio. We joke that Suga adopted him because cat recognized cat 😂
    One of the best things about Hybe in my opinion is that it brought together so many small labels and made it possible for these relationships to happen - even encouraged them. So the idols get to have social support from their peers instead of being isolated. I think you're right that Suga is going to be a leader in the industry, and the way he treats Hoshi makes me excited about what that will mean for kpop.

      @@oi2oi726 okay? That's not the etymology I saw. The argument there was that if it went straight from English it would have been spelled & pronounced 파이팅 not 화이팅 - and that a lot of a Koreans are moving away from the pronunciation/spelling inherited from Japanese. But I'm no expert, I just read what some Koreans were saying about it. They could have been wrong.

    Seventeen debut was in 2015 just 2yrs after bts. They are almost into their 9th year in the industry in may but they behave just like rookies(freshly debuted idols). They are always humble about their works just like hoshi here or woozi or generally whole of seventeen.
    They are also so much funny when left on their own.

    I love that you explain the little cultural intricacies that non-Koreans may not necessarily know or notice or understand. It helps to get more context that we can apply when we watch conversations. For example, I thought turning away from someone older when drinking applied to anyone older. I didn't know it was an extreme level of respect to do for someone a few years olders and was more for people much more senior. Now I wonder if Hoshi did that because he wasn't considering Suga's age, but the degree of seniority he sees Suga as being career-wise. Would that count? Or is turning only based on age?

    • @komerican-og
      @komerican-og  Před rokem +9

      It depends on respect and reverence. For example, there can be 90 degrees bowing to a simple head nod. Age is only part of it. Relative position, amount of respect and age gap all play a role. Your company boss, a janitor, sunbae you respect and older bros friend might all be of same age but how you bow to them or if at all can be totally different. Pretty complex unspoken social rules.

    Hoshi is the cutest tiger/hamster. Suga seems completely taken at the end by Hoshi's charm. Seventeen is by no means a rookie group, they are in their 9th year, Hoshi is a 96z, and he is not the maknae, but he is so respectful and humble! It's good seeing them interact. ❤

    What caused the switch is Woozi being teased for being like Suga so I went and checked Suga out.. then RM.. then the maknae line and it was all over. Thank you Seventeen! I’m always happy to hear news of their success and I’m glad that their autonomy seems to have only increased over time! Fighting! 😉

    I know you're Korean and I'm not but from what I've seen the younger idols have great respect for their seniors so it's not surprising that Hoshi turned to drink. There was a real hoo ha a few years ago because an idol didn't bow properly at an award show. SUGA's shoulder injury stemmed from when he was nearly runover after falling off the delivery bike he was riding. He was trying to make money for school but nearly ended up under the wheels of a car. He struggled on for years but now we know that the dance moves in Black Swan and ON put his shoulder completely out of action. He had a torn labrum I think. It took a lot of rehab after the surgery to get movement back in it.

    • @komerican-og
      @komerican-og  Před rokem +6

      There was a time when hubaes were called to restrooms to be reprimanded by sunbaes. Not even from same company. Just straight up bullying and sometimes physical means were applied. Those days are gone thankfully. I think I might have simplified the turning motion but there are nuances. Just like saying 'Hi' can be done in so many ways and might have totally different meaning. His gestures, postures and every nuance were sincere and honoring. That is not true for most instances. Going through motions in most cases. I do the same thing. Lol Anyway It was nice to see such reverence and respect between two artists.

      They can all go together.. However enlistment is decided by the government not the applicant. Only way Is Buddy. enlistment system. I think friends can apply together and they can go to same place. I'm not sure of the details. Actually best way would be everybody enlist together at the same time and most would be accepted. And get it over with. But there is a long list, that is also true.

    @8:46 not probably.. it's indeed cuz BTS really paved the way for k-pop globally..they opened the doors..they made k-pop known and "acknowledged" around every corner of the world, ik that k-pop was loved in East Asia countries before BTS cuz of 2nd gen k-pop groups but BTS did really made k-pop known globally literally..also in my country and neighbouring countries (other asian countries, aside from east asian countries) now general public knows about the word "k-pop" is all thanks to BTS tbh.. I'm so glad that there are few k-pop groups and idols who acknowledge what BTS has done for the industry, and their huge contribution.. sadly it's a "c-o-n-t-r-o-v-e-r-s-i-a-l topic" as in to say "BTS paved the way" majority of k-pop stans fail to accept this fact cuz of obvious reasons.. i would love to watch your reaction (someday) to "BTS paved the way" by boracity magzine (her video essays are amazing)...and thank you really for reacting to this episode (as i was one of those many who wanted to see you react to this ep) 😄 🙏🏻 also hoshi & jin's episode with Youngji is hilarious
