People always forget that TXT were trainees in BTS' early years before they made enough money to create Hybe because TXT debuted in 2019. However, the group lineup was finalized in 2016 (the Year BTS won Artist of the Year for the first time), Yeonjun with the longest training period was under BigHit since 2014 and Beomgyu who had the shortest training period joined BigHit in 2016 and the other 3 joined between those 2 years. They trained together for a few years as a team before their actual debut and things did get better for them as time went on because BTS started blowing up, but when they first became trainees the conditions of BigHit wasn't that good and they were just high schoolers and middle schoolers and all they could do was hold on and train.
They seemed so new that it genuinely didn't hit me until this interview that they would have been in training around the time that BTS debuted so money would have been super tight. It also didn't fully register for me that they debuted around the pandemic time. I only discovered BTS last year so I only vaguely knew about TXT so I hadn't given their situation that much thought before (too busy drowning in a ridiculous amount of content). It's actually kind of wild to hear their stories and how much they were in the same boat in terms of surviving in a struggling company. It must have been scary to think that all your work could have been for nothing when the pandemic hit and everything was so unsure.
@@ZariDV yeah as far as i remember they debuted in the first quarter of 2019 so they had a year to perform normally in front of a crowd and then everything shut down in 2020. just very very unfortunate and shtty situation to be in ur official first year or two in the industry
@@user-vv7hc7kb5o Yes. I remember Suga talking about how he worried that everything was over because no one knew what would happen after the pandemic. So many artists talked about how they felt like they may never get to do a concert again since the virus might never leave. I can only imagine the emotion strain they were under as young guys just getting a taste of their dream. Especially after working so hard to finally debut. My heart goes out to them. I don't know them all very well but from what I've seen so far they seem like such sweet, grounded people and hard workers. I'm glad they got to reunite with their fans again and experience such big wins.
@@user-vv7hc7kb5oyes even their first tour was cancelled even before it was announced and they had to perform in the same venues after everything was better and tours resumed in 2021.

It’s interesting to watch Suga. With Jimin, RM and TXT he sat on the right hand side and didn’t get up right away. He must see TXT members as extended family. At times this felt less interview more advice from Suga hour.

I love him so much. He's become so self aware and emotionally intelligent. The fact that he has taken it upon himself to be the support and guidance that they didn't get to have is so beautiful. Even more beautiful is the admonition to pay it forward in the future when txt has hoobaes of their own. I'm so proud to be a fan and support this man and the rest of the team. What beautiful souls.

Taehyun is wellspoken and Yeonjun is more the emotional side. I love the duo so much
Taehyun is my bias in TXT. He’s been in the business since he was a young child and did modelling and acting so he’s a pro. He’s a great singer and dancer and works very hard. ❤️
I love how simple Yoongi's love towards other people is. He may not always show it openly, and sometimes is what you call, emotionally constipated (lol), but the sincerity he shows through little things means a lot. He loves to spoil both Bts and Txt by cooking / ordering food, making the beds on trips or just simply being there without getting mushy. Sometimes tough love works better, and he knows that all too well.
TXT's friendship dynamic is so interesting to me because their age order from oldest to youngest is Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, HueningKai and even though Yeonjun does kind of look after everyone and Soobin is the leader, it kind of feels like Taehyun & HueningKai are kind of the pillars in their group dynamic despite being the youngest.
Don't get me wrong they're both very mischievous and cute when it comes to variety content and when the members are playful, but as you noticed Taehyun is very eloquent and logical and though you don't know him yet HueningKai in general has a very cute and warm disposition but he's very emotionally strong and reliable. When the members are in emotional situation and distress HueningKai is actually the one who takes action and holds it together and when the members are going through difficult times and need advice the member who helps them through it is Taehyun. Now I'm not saying that Yeonjun, Soobin, and Beomgyu aren't reliable or anything like that because they are and at the end of the day they are the older ones, but I feel like many people look over how much Taehyun and Hueningkai contribute to the group's dynamic because people just see them as the cute maknaes.
(this is just my observations of kind of watching them since day 1 lol and Taehyun being good at drinking is no surprise to moas because I'm sure we all predicted that him and Hyuka would have the highest alcohol tolerance in the group)

This matches my observations too... Heuningkai especially is easily dismissed as "the cute one" when I think he brings a lot more than that. Not just as a performer, but to the group dynamic. Sure, he's legitimately adorable, but I'm pretty sure he's also a musical genius and he's reliably affectionate and optimistic when they need that the most.
@Evan 에반 I feel that's how it is with JHope. He's the bubbly, funny one but the teammates always say he's an emotional rock for the team

The song is about how they felt leaving behind their first dorm as a band to a better dorm they could finally afford with the success they had found.... a nice metaphor for how they are determined to stay as family no matter how high or low they are. Always makes me sad!

Yoongi never fails to impress me, and I’m not saying that just because he’s my bias. As far as txt goes, I’m not very familiar with them but wow, Taehyun really made a great impression on me. He has leader type qualities, I’m shocked to learn that he’s not the actual leader. He seems very eloquent and definitely a talker, I bet him and Namjoon would have some great conversations.
I love the moment when Taehyun points out that Suga's kindness is unrealistic 😂 He's right, in a way - it's a kind of story we like to tell more than a truth we try to live.
Some of us find great satisfaction in being a person who inspires other people to be a little kinder. I try to be that person, with varying success... And I've had moments when someone just flat-out told me I was unrealistic 🤣 I recognized that look.
Taehyun has remarkable self-possession and he's very confident as a speaker. He's also quite stoic and pragmatic. Yeonjun does do a lot in his role as the oldest brother - he looks after them all, says he's raising four beagles. But overall they're soooooo much less hierarchical than BTS. They're all quite close in age and Soobin's leadership style is very collaborative.
And they're all very confident! Even as they say they know they have more to work on, they definitely believe in themselves. I've probably already suggested their interview with Jessi. It's utter madness and very very fun. I'd love your perspective on it 🤣
I think you'd also be interested to learn about the TXT/MOA relationship. It's unusual, and probably one of the healthiest possible fan relationships, in my opinion. MOA is great.
you think bts' dynamic is more hierarchical? thats interesting i dont think it comes across like that to me despite the wider age range between them with Jin being 92liner and JK a 97liner
@@user-vv7hc7kb5o I'm pretty confident about this but we can have different perspectives on it. 😁 I'll share my observations:
BTS members almost always use honorifics. TXT members drop them a lot. Beomgyu treats Soobin like they're the same age, and Soobin is fine with it. Namjoon is a good leader, but a different kind than Soobin - there are a lot of examples of him taking charge, telling the others what to do. He's led them through a lot of different situations where they've needed that. Soobin has an even more collaborative leadership style than RM. Jin and Suga don't abuse their authority but they have it and the younger members respect it. Yeonjun doesn't get that same respect very often. 🤣 And BTS has always had more official internal structure, with roles that mostly feel outdated now. But Hobi has real authority as dance leader. TXT doesn't have any of that.
So from my perspective, both by design and interpersonally, TXT has less internal hierarchy. It's not really a good or bad thing - both groups work well for the people in them, relationships are healthy, everyone treats each other with love and respect. They're just different. And we might see TXT grow into more structure and BTS is definitely letting go of it over time.

I love Taehyun in these kind of shows. He is definitely a deeper thinker/character. He thinks about what he is saying and is well spoken. It was so sweet of him to share his heart with Suga about wanting to make BTS proud of them. Because of the pandemic TXT has a unique history. They had just started the year before and were on their way and it all got disrupted. They didn't get to do the fan meets and concerts like most do. I think having to wait solidified them with their fans. Thank you for clarifying the touchiness of close friends and "brothers". It is America, Europe and the UK that have so over sexualized just about everything. I ran into this right off with BTS the shipping and taking almost every touch, hug, etc. as something romantic or sexual. There are a lot of countries where it is as you say. The closeness and comfortableness with one another producing an intimacy but not in romantic or sexual way. The West, if they ever had it has truly lost it. They showed it here because it shows how close they are - family. Like to listen to your perspectives.👍
44:36 Taehyun is an wise and smart man…Even if he wasn’t an idol i know that he would be somewhere good (you spoke my thoughts out loud literally) Every single person things that he is a serious person when they see him for the first time and i get why they think like that and no one belives that he is the youngest along with Kai
they debuted one year before the pandemic (march 2019), but they didn’t had the lightstick yet, and when they finally had the lighstick the pandemic started, so yeah it was a long time until they could see it in person
yeonjun blacked out in the middle of shooting, which is is funny to me haha, he was freaking out on weverse because he doesn't remember anything from this day... all he remembers is closing his eyes and "magically" appearing in his dorm room the next day haha he said he was so confused when he woke up and said to himself "I screwed up", it was hilarious how he was begging moas to not watch it. taehyun was replying saying how cute he was. yeonjun was also suppose to answer the last question as well but when they had asked him he took 5 minutes to answer and the reason for that was because he actually fell asleep😂😂
as you mentioned, taehyun really is mature and really well spoken. he's the 2nd youngest in the group but he takes care of his members a lot and makes sure everyone is feeling loved. he is a very open minded idol, he does not let anyone talk down on him or his members. he's a person who sets boundaries and says what's on his mind. if he doesn't feel comfortable with something moas do he will straight up tell us and explain to us why, which I really admire him for because a lot of idols can't really do that and just let their fans get away with a lot of stuff. im really hoping you do end up doing a guide to txt in the future so you can see how hard working and loving these 5 men are. thank you so much for explaining the Korean culture to us and telling us some facts about Korea!
I absolutely loved your reaction to this. I had heard of TXT but didn’t know anything about them until I watched Suga’s show. They are adorable, very sweet and so mature and well spoken. Beautiful guys. As for Suga - he really is such a wise soul. He’s so beautiful in every way - inside and out. He’s a mentor to them and treats them so well. I love Suga 💜💜💜

(To answer your question in another comment, yes, Taehyun is one of TXT's maknaes. The two youngest members of TXT are both born in 2002. Even though when they have to pick one, they'll designate Huening Kai (August) over Taehyun (February), the members and fans also care for Taehyun like a maknae. When _he_ isn't the one taking care of the others, of course. The age gap in TXT is about 4 years, from Yeonjun in '99 to Huening Kai in '02.)

TXT debuted in early 2019, so they had their debut promotions before corona hit. Their first comeback was delayed due to member injury and illness, though, so they didn't reach a point where they could tour and hold concerts frequently before the pandemic. The members have talked previously about how difficult it was for them, and how impactful their first concert in Korea in front of fans was. I don't want to quote the members specifically because I can't call the interview receipts to mind, but various members have said that their concert in July 2022 saved their mentality and strengthened their resolve as performers because it was such a struggle performing for years without actually meeting any of their fans.
I definitely think there are _some_ fans who would have a really hard time swallowing the differences between platonic affection in Korea and platonic affection in the West (especially America), but I think you explain it very eloquently. I hope people who still like to make assumptions about idols listen to and understand your words. An idol's--or any celebrity's--sexuality shouldn't be their fans' business unless they choose to make it so, in my opinion. I thought it was a nice detail that the editors showed Yeonjun physically reaching out to Taehyun while talking about how he's thankful for him as a way to demonstrate their friendship.

I like the vibe between them as sunbae and hoobaes as well 💜,and as an army for a long time i fully understand when BTS members r touchy and playful ,i got to know a lot about Korean culture cuz of them ,and also can u please do (IU's pallette with suga ) it was really fun episode ❤
TXT have a great group dynamic...they always consider each other as family or brothers...Westerners seem to ship alot of male idols together and it is mainly about their sexuality as they don't understand Asian culture (correct me if I'm wrong as it may be Korean?) which i feel is quite disrespectful...Yeonjun was the first who joined BigHit (2014/15) and then Taehyun (2015) so they've known each other longer. All of the boys are close with BTS members, as Soobin has sought advice from Namjoon and has been to his house a couple of times, Taehyun hangs out with J Hope, Jimin & Suga on occasions and Beomgyu does the same with Taehyung (they are also from Daegu like Suga)...but i'm unsure about Kai though.
There sure might be male couples, and that would be fine. However, I do not see the body language in most. A lot of it is misconception derived from not understanding the nuances in cultural differences. When I moved here, it was so hard for me not to pull away from the guys skin ship. My head understands but years of conditioning made it very difficult. Lol 😆

I really appreciate how you explained friendship among same gender in Korea because I see so many ridiculous videos on social media about BTS (Gay moments, they are dating, in physical relationship and all kinds of trash). Only because they touch each other while taking or hug or share same clothes or vehicle. BTS always say they are family 💜♾️. And family always share things, it's common. I don't know why people overreact, do they don't have any family..... They make such vulgar video on BTS & write all the shit they have in their mind in the videos that BTS never said. Making others uncomfortable.
